T-Mobile Stores Begin Receiving NanoSIM Cards For iPhone 5 Activation

A bit of a surprise today as T-Mobile stores begin to receive NanoSIM cards used in conjunction with the iPhone 5. Our original expectations had T-Mobile NanoSIM cards arriving sometime in the middle of October, but we’re not one to complain about anything arriving ahead of schedule in the wireless world. There’s no word on how widespread the NanoSIM rollout is and it seems these shipments only started to arrive this morning. As a quick reminder, … [read full article]

(Updated) Android 4.2 Rumors Starting To Filter Out, What Might We See Next?

Update: Google employee Dan Morrill is having a good laugh at the latest round of rumors with a simple “Reading rumor sites…. LOL.” comment on Google+. When pressed for more information, Morrill wouldn’t disclose which site(s) he was referencing, but I think the below information is the pretty obvious choice. It’s possible that Morrill is laughing out loud because of how dead on this information is, or how very, very wrong it is. Hopefully we’ll … [read full article]

T-Mobile Announces The Samsung Galaxy S III As The Company’s Best Selling Phone Of All Time

I’m not sure if I’m surprised or shocked by the tweet T-Mobile sent out around 6pm tonight announcing the Galaxy S III as the carriers all-time best selling device. That definitely places sales well over the one million mark and then some given the figures that leaked for previous Samsung handsets T-Mobile sold during the Apple/Samsung trial. I admit, the Galaxy S III sounds like an obvious choice, but it wouldn’t have been my first … [read full article]

The opposition to AT&T’s proposed takeover was fiercely led by a number of consumer advocate groups including Public Knowledge, which has a decidedly different, if not indifferent tone for T-Mobile, MetroPCS. “We hate to see companies like MetroPCS shut down, but in this situation, we can see how this merger can add to the overall competitiveness of … [read full article]

A new Samsung support site is detailing the company’s upcoming schedule for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and it’s pretty much what we’ve already heard. As for T-Mobile, it now lists the Galaxy S III only. Sprint Considering Deutsche Telekom Counter-Offer For MetroPCS?

I think we could have predicted a bit of opposition from Sprint on T-Mobile’s proposed merger with MetroPCS, but a counter-offer isn’t what I had in mind. According to the old “people familiar with the matter,” Sprint is looking at the numbers and holding talks with financial advisors to evaluate the possibility of a counter-offer for MetroPCS. The report states that Sprint could decide as early … [read full article]

Update: According to Nokia’s website, the Lumia 820 is also an AT&T exclusive, though AT&T’s press release doesn’t mention that specifically.  Update 2: The Nokia website has been updated to show the Lumia 820 as “coming soon” from AT&T, but they have removed the “exclusive.” Good news.  We had high hopes that Nokia’s Lumia 920 would make the carrier rounds and not be tied down to any one particular carrier via … [read full article]
