Rumor: T-Mobile Stores Receiving Nexus 4 Inventory As Early As Tomorrow?

We’re chalking this up as a rumor until we can get more confirmation, but I’m getting word that T-Mobile stores will begin selling the Nexus 4 as early as tomorrow. That’s not to say that all stores will receive inventory right from the start, but with T-Mobile expanding the number of stores selling the Nexus 4 — we expect those sales to begin as early as tomorrow. For now, we’ll chalk this up firmly in the … [read full article]

Verizon, AT&T Continue To Watch T-Mobile’s Move Away From Subsidies

It will come as little shock or surprise that T-Mobile’s competition is watching their move away from subsidies, a point reiterated by Verizon and AT&T execs in Las Vegas this week. T-Mobile may not pose a large threat to the dominant telecommunication positions of Verizon and AT&T, but it’s foolish to think the latter companies wouldn’t eagerly move away from subsidies. Subsidized pricing on mobile devices has long been a catch-22 for the wireless companies, providing an … [read full article]

In the prepaid race, MetroPCS has always been at the forefront of competitive offerings, which makes its unfortunate that the company reported a net loss of 93,000 subscribers in the fourth quarter. As Metro faces increased competition, the company dropped to 8.9 million subscribers overall. The dip in subscribers this morning comes as the company prepares for its merger with T-Mobile USA. It’s the first … [read full article]

As Samsung And HTC Post Vastly Different Financial Results, Can HTC Survive?

There’s little question that Samsung is the globally dominant smartphone manufacturer outside of Apple these days. In fact, to call it anything other than a two-horse race would be putting it mildly. At this point, it looks like LG, Nokia, HTC and the rest of the smaller manufacturers world-wide are just fighting for Samsung and Apple table scraps. Preliminary results for Samsung quarterly numbers show a profit of $8.1 billion, thanks in some part to sales of … [read full article]

Consumer Reports Rates The Top 3 Phones For T-Mobile

I’ll readily admit that I don’t place nearly the same emphasis on Consumer Reports buying decisions as millions of other shoppers. That said, the three devices Consumer Reports picked will come as no surprise at all, nor will the neck and neck results in their ratings. Samsung Galaxy S III — 78 HTC One S — 77 Samsung Galaxy Note II — 76 Without access to the full article, it’s hard to tell what … [read full article]

I’m saddened that for the first time in five years I’m not on my way to Las … [read full article]

Rumor: Are We Looking At The First Galaxy S IV Press Shot?

The folks at SamMobile claim to have their hands on the worlds first press shot featuring the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S IV. The site does admit they can’t confirm the validity of the shot as 100%, but that the image “looks really sharp and doesn’t look fake at all.” By all appearances and working under the assumption this image is authentic, the device looks to feature on-screen buttons as there doesn’t seem to be any hardware … [read full article]
