Anytime a device passes through the FCC halls T-Mobile compatible HSPA+ and LTE bands, we’ll always get a little hopeful and it’s happening once again with the passage of the LG G2. While the device is set to be officially unveiled by LG in New York on August 7th, the device hit the FCC yesterday complete with AT&T and T-Mobile compatible LTE, HSPA+ frequencies. I’d like to think that means a multi-carrier launch is on the … [read full article]

It’s been almost two months since we last heard anything about the upcoming LG Optimus F3 for T-Mobile. Well, @evleaks is back with some unofficial press shots providing us with another look at the hardware and LG customized software. A quick rewind to June 2nd shows a T-Mobile branded “F6 NewCo” being tested in the wild, but we knew better than to call it the F6. There’s still no word on release date, pricing … [read full article]

He’s At It Again: T-Mobile CEO John Legere Tweets Simple Choice Is Bringing Over AT&T Customers

At this point, if you’re on Twitter, a fan of T-Mobile and by extension TmoNews and not following T-Mobile’s CEO then stop whatever you are doing and go find @john_legere. The man just loves stirring up trouble as a new tweet hints that AT&T switchers are up “3-fold” since the launch of the company’s Simple Choice and Uncarrier offerings. T-Mobile kicked off … [read full article]

Google Announces Android 4.3, New Nexus 7 Compatible with T-Mobile LTE

Google is holding a quiet “breakfast” this morning for some folks on the west coast and made a few notable announcements, including the release of Android 4.3 and a new Nexus 7. First things first as the company announced some notable sales figures as they surpassed over 50 billion apps downloaded through the Play Store. Xzibit Is Back And He Wants To JUMP! Your Phone

Oh yes, Xzibit is back and while I resist ALL my desires to insert a “Pimp your Ride” joke, he’s one of a half-dozen or so new videos T-Mobile has released promoting JUMP! and #hate2wait. Other videos include Olympia Sanya Richards Ross, Sean Rash, Joe Johnson, Rich Malambri, Ike Taylor and Julissa Bermudez. In all honesty, I’d love to see T-Mobile bring a stronger name to bear with this campaign, or at least one that won’t … [read full article]

HTC Issues Camera Fix For One Update That Removed HDR Functionality

The recent HTC One software update was been welcomed with open arms in thanks to its LTE connectivity fixes and overall improved performance. Unfortunately, the welcomed fixes brought about one negative change with the accidental removal of the HDR functionality from the camera app. Have no fear however as HTC worked fast and managed to push out a fix that’s now available Settings > About > Software Updates > Check now. Ultimately, this shouldn’t have happened in the … [read full article]

T-Mobile’s New Print Attack Ad Hits AT&T, Verizon Again, And Again

Aside from the fact that T-Mobile CEO John Legere directly tweeted this to me which makes me feel all kinds of appreciated this morning, it’s another great ad. The follow up to Monday’s attack on AT&T now lumps Verizon’s upcoming Edge plan in the the same aggressive boat as AT&T’s Next upgrade plan. “Either AT&T and Verizon don’t think things through, or they … [read full article]

T-Mobile CEO John Legere Taunts The Competition With LTE Speed Tests

The Twitter account of T-Mobile CEO John Legere (@john_legere) is handily one of the most entertaining I have ever seen in the technology industry, especially from a CEO. It goes without saying that Legere is going to say nice things about his company and some  and some not-so-nice things about his competition. However, Legere takes it another level with almost every tweet and that level is “awesome.” Now, I grant you that hitting the speeds … [read full article]

9to5Google Says T-Mobile “Not Yet On Board” With Moto X Release

moto x white

The boys from 9to5Google are reporting that according to their inside source, only Sprint, Verizon and AT&T are definitively signed on to carry the Moto X. The report itself contradicts a WSJ source that stated all four national carriers will carry Motorola and Google’s first collaborative smartphone. The site speculates that because T-Mobile already carries the Nexus 4, it has yet to complete a deal with Motorola. At this point it seems highly suspect that … [read full article]

New T-Mobile Ad Continues AT&T Onslaught Over “Deceptive” Practices

T-Mobile’s not laying down on hitting at AT&T’s early upgrade program even after T-Mobile’s CEO takes a series of shots on Twitter. In a new ad that is set to run in USA Today tomorrow, T-Mobile takes a swing at AT&T’s “calculating, sneaky, underhanded but not deceptive” early upgrade program. I’d call it deceptive and I’d say that AT&T must have the best … [read full article]
