With The AT&T Deal On The Rocks, Where Does T-Mobile Go From Here?

While we’re excited by the news that AT&T’s proposed acquisition of T-Mobile looks all but dead, I’m fearful that T-Mobile’s darkest days may still be ahead. While analysts, press, bloggers and the like all predict this deal will now just drag on until AT&T decides to finally throw in the towel, T-Mobile has to suffer the consequences of such actions. Given the news that AT&T is prepared to offer even more concessions[read full article]

Blackberry Curve 9380 Touchscreen Hits The FCC, T-Mobile Bands In Tow

The FCC has just given us our first “glimpse” at another upcoming Blackberry possibly bound for T-Mobile store shelves in the form of the Blackberry Curve 9380. RIM’s first all-screen Curve has revealed itself with support for WCDMA band IV, the band we love seeing noted in FCC passings as that indicates compatibility with T-Mobile’s 3G 4G networks. We hope that if this does in fact come to T-Mobile store shelves, it arrives … [read full article]

Ice Cream Sandwich Running On A T-Mobile G1, Kind Of

It’s clunky, it’s slow and you would not want to use it in real life but the fact that the talented folks at XDA-Developers have an Ice Cream Sandwich port up and running on a three year old T-Mobile G1 shows a lot of promise. It’s performance is powered by an archaically sounding 528MHz single-core processor, however this shows that other old-school Android smartphones might also get a taste of Ice Cream … [read full article]

HTC Radar 4G, A TmoNews Review

It’s review time again, and this time I got my hands on some new hardware.  Now, it doesn’t have Android (OH NO!) so it may not be on many of your lists, but it really should be considered.  T-Mobile made the mistake of sending me a Radar 4G to play with and I may, just may, keep it (I’m totally kidding T-Mobile, seriously).  Read on and see how it stacks up! Software I’ve … [read full article]

Samsung Takes On Apple “Magic” In New Commercial Spot

Samsung pokes fun at Apple’s grip on it’s consumer base by showing Apple fans as…wait for it Android fans…your favorite word…sheep. Of course the term “sheep” could be thrown right back at any fanboy group (that includes you Android faithful) but…Samsung strikes a chord and chalks up a total win with this commercial. This is well worth 60 seconds of your time. More importantly, the Galaxy S II in white looks awesome. YouTube

FCC Says AT&T, T-Mobile Merger Not In The Best Interest Of The Public

Expanding on our earlier report concerning the FCC decision, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski issued a draft order earlier this morning calling for an Administrative Hearing before an Administrative Law Judge. According to the FCC, the Chairman’s order requires final approval from the full commission and if it receives the green light, the hearing will be conducted like a trial — involving witnesses, evidence, cross examination etc. In his order this morning, Genachowski … [read full article]
