Update 1: Just added about 20 more images to the gallery, might take a few minutes to populate but there are quite a few shots for your viewing pleasure! Update 2: Engadget just posted their own preview of the G2 with a quick 1:26 video showing a brief look at the phone, its worth taking a glance at! Don’t skip our photos though! Another shameless promotion for our friends at Phonedog! This one is pretty worth it! You know, we’ve seen our friends at Phonedog give away plenty of phones, almost on a weekly basis but it’s hard to argue with the awesomeness that surrounds giving away an Apple iPad. Now I know I just heard a collective groan from you Galaxy Tab fans but lets for a moment just think about how awesome it is to win something … [read full article]
The last couple of weeks have seen us discuss both on the blog and in our forums the lack of Android and UMA or Wi-Fi calling services and our desire to see it come to Magenta. We’ve seen our hopes rise with the introduction of a Kineto Wireless service that is capable of bringing UMA to Android as demonstrated on a Samsung Vibrant. Nothing gives me more hope than the following images that I present … [read full article]
Update 1: T-Mobile has provided an official statement regarding the tethering option: “T-Mobile does not currently support handset tethering or offer a tethering rate plan. Though tethering and Wi-Fi sharing will not be initially supported on the T-Mobile G2, we know that consumers are interested in these features and we are working to develop a solution to support them in the future.” We’ve trying to confirm this one either way since the announcement of the … [read full article]
Wirefly, a company which usually comes up with some great pricing on new phones, has done it again, launching a new T-Mobile G2 pre-order earlier today. The deal includes pricing of G2 smart-phones at $149.99 for new accounts ($199.99 for existing ones), no tax and free shipping!!! This is all pretty impressive, especially considering that T-Mo itself isn’t even letting new customers pre-order yet. If you were thinking about the G2, you might want to check … [read full article]
This isn’t the first comparison shot we’ve thrown up, but, since the pre-order is actually here, many of you have asked for a size comparison of the T-Mobile G2 vs. the usual suspects. So what’s one more comparison chart to help anyone on the fence about pre-ordering based on size! There is nothing here we don’t know or haven’t seen, read or heard a number of times but seeing things stacked right next to … [read full article]
The end of August was the last time we saw anything regarding T-Mobile merging/dealing/combining/partnering with another carrier or other entity. Three weeks of no similar stories is far too long for us to go so here we are back again with another report that Clearwire is “open” to a relationship with T-Mobile in some capacity. For Clearwire, the obvious hope is raising money possibly by selling off unneeded spectrum to a partner like T-Mobile. However, since … [read full article]
We caught wind of this a few days ago thanks to an article from GigaOM but with the whole G2 news cycle it kind of got lost in the fold. Sometimes though we have to congratulate a carrier for taking the first step in an environmentally friendly manner. T-Mobile is that carrier today having announced their very first Solar Powered cell tower in Pennsylvania. The site itself will generate enough power to keep itself off the electric … [read full article]
Update 1: Turns out someone flipped a switch a little early tonight as the Facebook link and Twitter post went down as soon as they went up. Right now some people are reporting luck by ordering through their my.T-Mobile.com login! Right on queue, the T-Mobile G2 is finally available now for pre-order from T-Mobie. Magenta’s first HSPA+ handset is available online for pre-order beginning now through October 4th exclusively to current subscribers for $199.99 with a … [read full article]
We’ll just make this a super quick post but the T-Mobile G2 with Google will be available for pre-order starting tonight and running through October 4th with a release date on October 6th. I can’t say how happy I am that the October 16th delayed release info was wrong, but I love it when information like that is wrong in the favor of an earlier date! Get your credit cards ready!
Let’s preface this with the usual warning of take this with a grain of salt, etc. etc…looks real…etc, etc. I know your eyes have already scanned over this and found the things you wish were different but let’s just laser in on Reason To Buy #2: is that Wi-Fi calling on board I see? Is there truly someone sitting in the heavens answering our prayers? Our ninja for this image did say that he was told this … [read full article]
Are those pictures of the HD7 making your HD2 feel unloved? Well, maybe we can fix that. According to our in-house Windows Mobile enthusiast and lover (T1 Connect in the forums), you may be seeing an update coming your way. Apparently there is a ROM Update (3.14) out there in the wild that comes in the form of a ruu, which I guess makes it official and not a custom ROM (right?). The brave … [read full article]
