Nokia CEO Says The T-Mobile Lumia 710 Is “Exceeding Expectations”

Let’s just be frank and say we honestly have no idea how Nokia’s CEO is quantifying “exceeding expectations” since we don’t have any idea what the expectations were for the Lumia 710. However, speaking at Mobile World Congress, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop was reportedly enthusiastic about the Lumia 710 and it current sales numbers. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t give up any specific market numbers, but it seems Nokia has a small hit on their hands. I gave … [read full article]

T-Mobile Emphasizes Service Over Speed While Waiting For LTE?

We’ve already seen and heard T-Mobile’s plans for 2012, a reinvigorated company with a “Challenger Strategy” ready to take on the world. It starts with a $4 billion network investment and the beginnings of a LTE rollout, and highlights a 1900MHz HSPA+ refarm allowing customers to use almost any unlocked HSPA+ capable phone in the world. T-Mobile will work hard to get wholesalers onto their network and will work furiously to reclaim their best customer … [read full article]

Watch HTC’s Entire Mobile World Congress One Series Launch Event

HTC just held one of their biggest events of the year at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and introduced their new One series. Unfortunately, for those of us not in attendance in Barcelona, we missed HTC Sense 4 intros, CEO Peter Chou talking about Beats Audio integration and the new ImageChip technology that will take HTC smartphone cameras to the next level. Well, we have good news as HTC has posted the full 45 minute event online … [read full article]

(Updated)Rumor: HTC One X Coming To T-Mobile As The “G4x?” Tegra 3 Ready?

Update: According to the report, the HTC One X will arrive on T-Mobile with stock Android 4.0, NOT HTC Sense 4.  So here’s a wild rumor that should be of course, be taken with a grain of salt as the boys from Androidandme are reporting that the HTC One X is headed the Magenta way. According to their sources, the T-Mobile version of the HTC One X will sport a Tegra 3 processor that supports T-Mobile’s … [read full article]

Editorial: I Still Think Throttling Data Sucks, There I said It

I’ve long thought T-Mobile’s loose definition of “unlimited data” has needed to change and now, with AT&T at the center of a throttling data news cycle, “unlimited” is once again called into question. In fact, one AT&T user successfully sued AT&T in small claims court winning $850 after the judge agreed AT&T had sold the customer an unlimited plan and then purposely slowed him down. AT&T has justified throttling by claiming it is only targeting the … [read full article]

(Updated)T-Mobile Confirms LTE Rollout Top On Agenda Over HSPA+ 84, IMS Is The Future

Update: There appears to be some confusion about the language in this article regarding the 1900MHz refarming. There is nothing that has changed since last week, 1900MHz will still be re-farmed for HSPA+ coverage and unlocked iPhone’s will still work when that re-farm is complete in your area. LTE is going to be deployed on the 1700 band for T-Mobile.  In a confirmation of intel we received late last week, T-Mobile USA Senior Vice President … [read full article]

We won’t to go into much detail, instead I urge you to check out … [read full article]

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time for the second round of the Galaxy S III rumor mill game — behind door number one: more “exclusive” details from the folks at BGR.com. Having already reported that Samsung’s next flagship smartphone would launch simultaneously around the world, BGR is back with some “new” detailed specifications from their sources inside the halls at Samsung. Some More Hands-On Time With The HTC One S

We’ve already had a chance to check out the HTC One S vicariously through at least one other hands-on video out of Barcelona…this time our man Aaron from PhoneDog is on the ground checking out the HTC One S. Of course, we’re a little jealous he gets a full 2 minutes with the device and we’re an ocean away. As a quick reminder, the HTC One S arrives with a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 CPU, … [read full article]

T-Mobile Galaxy S Blaze 4G Hands-On From Mobile World Congress

Quietly hanging around Samsung’s 2012 Mobile World Congress booth is the Galaxy S Blaze 4G, thankfully discovered by the folks at Unwired View. These images mark the first “in the wild” shots of the device we are seeing, on the heels of T-Mobile providing us with a “March” release timeframe just a few short days ago. As expected, some of T-Mobile’s services are already pre-installed, including T-Mobile TV and T-Mobile video chat via Quik. The … [read full article]

So, You Are Disappointed T-Mobile Didn’t Get The HTC One X? You Shouldn’t Be.

Let’s just get this right out of the way to clear any up confusion and more importantly, to stop the complaints I see popping up in the HTC One S post comments. The AT&T version of the HTC One X DOES NOT have a quad-core processor, it has a dual-core processor. So yes, it appears to be a better phone, but with the exception of battery size and and screen size, they are almost identical handsets. … [read full article]
