A new report by research firm Kantar Worldpanel is noting that Apple’s iOS platform has bumped its market share up 3.5% in the latest three-month period ending in May 2013. All totaled, that’s not really shocking news, but for fans of T-Mobile what they are attributing this rise in market share to might be. So what are they attributing this rise in market-share to? Why the release of the iPhone 5 on T-Mobile of course. … [read full article]

Making the rounds over the holiday was a story that caught at least a few by surprise as Google stops sales of the white Nexus 4. A Google spokesperson confirmed to Engadget that the device has sold out and won’t be carried again as it was a limited edition release. T-Mobile customers can still take comfort in the knowledge that the color variant is still available from their carrier. We want to believe … [read full article]

Will T-Mobile Consider Making A Run At Leap Wireless?

There hasn’t been a shortage of T-Mobile takeover, merger, acquisition rumors in as long as I can remember, but at least this time around T-Mobile is yet again considered a potential buyer. According to Macquarie Capital analyst Kevin Smithen the timing may be right for a T-Mobile takeover of Leap Wireless. “T-Mobile’s share price has appreciated from around $15-per-share to $24-per-share, making a stock deal for Leap more palatable in our view,” he wrote in a report. … [read full article]

T-Mobile Pairs Up With Rob Kardashian For A…YouTube Clip

I’ll readily admit that for some unknown reason my wife thinks watching all 23492034234 of the Kardashian shows on E! is entertaining. Me? I look at them as the decay of modern society better known as “celebs” famous for being famous. Please marketing team, don’t bring Khloe in on the next one, I’m begging you. In all seriousness, I really don’t understand the marketing message T-Mobile is hoping to get across with some of these YouTube only … [read full article]

Best Buy Joins Walmart With Prepaid iPhone 5 Sales On T-Mobile

With the news that Walmart has begun carrying the iPhone 5 on T-Mobile for prepaid customers, it should come as little surprise that Best Buy has also put the smartphone up for sale. Ultimately, Walmart remains the better deal at $629 against Best Buy’s $649 price tag. So much be being the “Best Buy” huh? Still, regardless of which direction you take, the offer is still similar to Apple’s own store pricing which handily  makes the Walmart … [read full article]

T-Mobile LTE Sightings Continue With Jacksonville, Tallahassee, Greensboro And Sacramento

It’s only been a few days since our last LTE sighting post but the crossover into July hopefully takes us one step closer to whatever T-Mobile has in store announcement wise. The number of LTE sightings in various markets is heating up more and more by the day and while some of them are sporadic sightings at best, it’s clear that T-Mobile’s engineers are hard at work all across this great land. Todays sighting list includes: Jacksonville, … [read full article]

Walmart Now Selling T-Mobile iPhone 5…For Prepaid Customers

Some good news for prepaid fans as Walmart stores have begun carrying the iPhone 5 for T-Mobile. The caveat is that T-Mobile’s sale of the iPhone 5 is only good for T-Mobile’s prepaid accounts and it’ll set you back a cool $629 dollars to do so. The offer is good for any of T-Mobile’s current prepaid plans and Walmart does offer in-store financing plans — which are completely separate from T-Mobile’s Simple Choice equipment installment plans. I’m … [read full article]

Analyst: T-Mobile Poised To Post First Subscriber Gains In Years

If we can put a small amount of faith into a group of those pesky analysts, T-Mobile will end a four-year drought and record its first net addition of postpaid customers in years. The addition of the iPhone combined with T-Mobile’s UNcarrier/Simple Choice installment play offering has apparently caught on with postpaid subscribers, according to “analysts.” One concern is that if T-Mobile does record its first postpaid growth since 2009, Deutsche Telekom’s asking price for all 74% of … [read full article]
