I must admit to a little jealousy of Chris Ziegler of Thisismynext.com (formerly of Engadgetmobile) as he scored himself a preview of Gingerbread for the T-Mobile G2x. While T-Mobile promised it wouldn’t be a long wait for early G2x adopters, with no solid date given we’re going to eat up any previews of what to expect on the G2x when in fact the update does arrive. You can check out the video above or read … [read full article]
Well that didn’t take long at all as T-Mobile just announced via Twitter and Facebook the arrival of the Blackberry Bold 9900 to the Magenta network later this year. It was only an hour ago that the Bold 9900 went official and there was indication of a T-Mobile possibility with an AWS variant. If only every phone announcement went as quickly as this. @twitter Full Specs: 1.2 GHz processor 768 Ram 8GB … [read full article]
It was a little over two weeks ago that we first received word that the myTouch 4G was undergoing internal testing for a Gingerbread release. Now with the official ROM leaking out onto the internets, we’re hoping an official launch isn’t that far off. As usual the ROM made it’s way to the XDA-Developers forum as Android 2.3.3. One noticeable difference is the addition of the Quick Settings tab found in the pull-down notification screen. … [read full article]

For any Blackberry fans, the announcement of the Blackberry Bold 9900 at Blackberry World this morning in Orlando will hardly come as a surprise. The Bold 9900 has been discussed quite a bit in recent months and even made a cameo appearance on Blackberry’s website accidentally a few day early. As Blackberry does so well with their devices the Bold 9900 will have a GSM variant that will support UMTS bands 1,4 and 8 which means … [read full article]

Under normal circumstances, I would have woke up this morning, seen the tweet T-Mobile directed at Verizon and cracked a smile. Instead, I’m focused on watching Seattle area residents beat their future parent company’s pride and joy iPhone in speed tests. Of course, who knows how or if Verizon might playfully respond. If I were Verizon i’d respond with a simple statement of “Ok Tmobi…I mean future AT&T.” Just saying. @tmobile
For those of us who simply can’t stomach the idea of AT&T taking over our beloved T-Mobile, the time is now to make your voice heard. So many of you have taken to petitions and Facebook movements to get the word out but if you really want to be heard, the FCC is the best place to file your grievance. With just 11 days before Congress undertakes the first in what will inevitably be a whole … [read full article]
Not to be forgotten in our news cycle is the release of Android 2.3.4 which will start shipping to Nexus S devices in the coming weeks. By hooking up through your Gmail and Google Talk friends list, Android 2.3.4 is launching video chat whether they are on a compatible Android tablet or phone or over the computer. Video chat will (thankfully) take place over 3G, 4G and Wi-Fi connections. In your Google Talk friends list, look … [read full article]
One of the fun parts of when a pre-release, unannounced device’s ROM leaks to the world is that we get a look at some of the goodies contained within the device itself. In the case of the Doubleshot which will aptly be called the myTouch 4G Slide, a name which we called back in early March. What other information can be gleaned from the leaked ROM? The Doubleshot will come equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon … [read full article]
While we had plenty of indication this would see a formal announcement today, T-Mobile has gone and made it official. Announcing via Twitter the addition of the $39.99 2GB Mobile Broadband plan to their data lineup. As a reminder the $39.99 plan receives an additional 20% off is added to an existing voice account. T-Mobile links to their Mobile Broadband page via Twitter but as of this writing, the $39.99 plan isn’t listed yet. @tmobile
If we were to take a straw poll as to what already announced Android phone T-Mobile customers want to see on the Magenta network, the Galaxy S 2 would undoubtedly be at the top of the list. With that in mind we might have some good news. First comes the above picture which comes courtesy of Adobe.com and while it’s a little tough to make out, a little zooming in magic shows a decent image of … [read full article]
