Simple Starter Plan just one of three phases: Next up, discounted tablets and buy-now-pay-later EIP?

A short while ago, T-Mobile announced a brand new Simple Starter plan, giving those with lower budgets and first-time postpaid customers the opportunity to get on the postpaid ladder. But, as T-Mo’s official announcement stated, this is just “Day One of Three”. Following the announcement we received information from our sources claiming that at least one of the next … [read full article]

T-Mobile announces latest Uncarrier phase – Simple Starter $40 plan, goes live on April 12th

T-Mobile just took the wraps off its latest Uncarrier move and it’s one I think you’re going to like. John Legere took to the company blog to announce the new Simple Starter $40 monthly price plan. “We start today with an all-new Simple Starter plan, a $40 monthly price plan specifically designed to deliver a predictable, affordable solution to millions of value-conscious Americans – and to provide a desperately needed alternative to the high-risk, overage-intensive … [read full article]

(Update: Legere’s in on the act) Mike Sievert teases Uncarrier 5.0, promises “big throw-down”

It seems like ages since we got the last major Uncarrier phase at CES in January this year. Three months can certainly seem like a long time in tech. But just to reassure us that phase 4.0 wasn’t the last, Mike Sievert, the company CMO teased the upcoming major changes last night. Will SoftBank turn its attention to Vodafone after being put off T-Mobile?

Will they, won’t they? A month back it seemed like SoftBank’s CEO, Masayoshi Son had just one thing on his mind: Buying T-Mobile and merging it with his other property, Sprint. To most of Team Magenta, it sounded like a bad idea right from the off. Just when Tmo seemed to be doing really well, here comes news that it might get swallowed up by a bigger company from another land. For some, there was a positive … [read full article]

U.S. Cellular becomes latest to imitate T-Mobile, with its contract-free “Simple Connect” plans

We’re almost used to it by now. T-Mobile does something awesome, and someone else copies. More recently, it was Sprint’s attempt to copy Uncarrier 4.0’s offer to pay off a customer’s ETF with another carrier to switch and join its network that got the headlines. Today, it’s U.S. Cellular’s turn. The carrier’s Simple Connect plans were launched today and are almost a direct copy of Simple Choice. The main … [read full article]

HTC One M8 review – The best Android phone just got better

With 2013’s HTC One, the Taiwanese manufacturer set the standard for Android device hardware manufacturing and design. Its aluminum unibody paired with awesome components and performance made it last year’s best smartphone (in the eyes of many). This year, it’s back with a new shape, better performance, better hardware design and a weird camera set-up. But can it hold a light to its predecessor? Absolutely. It launches in Magenta flavor on April 11, the same day Tmo … [read full article]
