Editors Note: I’ve been told sales start at 4am eastern, it’s a few minutes before that so if you can’t complete the transaction, keep trying! For years we’ve waited for the day that T-Mobile’s smartphone offering would be complete with the four major platforms and that effort begins today as iPhone 5 pre-orders go live. Pricing will be available as listed below with the 16GB models available in store on April 12th.The iPhone 5 launches … [read full article]

(Updated) Public Service Announcement: iPhone 5 Pre-Orders Start Tomorrow

Updated: A previous draft stated that T-Mobile was expecting 200,000 pre-orders, that number I’m now being told is the amount of people who have signed up for more information about the pre-order. While I’m having a harder time than I care to admit nailing down the time iPhone pre-orders will go on sale, they are going on sale at some point tomorrow. I’ll be sure to update this post as soon as I hear back through … [read full article]

Deutsche Telekom Denies Reports They Will “Sweeten” MetroPCS Merger Terms

In response to a Reuters report this morning (that I was in the middle of typing up as this new report came out) Deutsche Telekom denies that they will sweeten the deal with MetroPCS. “We are not considering changing the terms of the proposed merger,” DT spokesman Philipp Kornstaedt told FierceWireless. The Reuters report had cited two unnamed sources that DT is considering sweetening the deal to help get approval from Metro shareholders. The report had come … [read full article]

They are setting off fireworks in Bellevue this morning as T-Mobile’s subscriber count showed positive results for the first time in nearly four years. The Magenta carrier released preliminary key customer results prior to their May 8th official release and announced the total customer base had increased 579,000 customers to 34 million. “Our customer experience improvement initiatives and the increase of higher credit quality customers coming over to T-Mobile are resulting in more people choosing to stay … [read full article]

New Android Distribution Chart Released As Google Changes To Counting Active Users

We look forward to Google’s Android distribution each month to see just how much growth the newest Android releases gain. Starting in April, we’re going to see a whole different way of keeping track of devices as the developer team announced via Google+. The new device dashboards are based on the devices of users who visit the Google Play Store (rather than devices that have checked-in to Google servers). As a result, the dashboards more accurately … [read full article]

Editorial: A Quick Note From Your Editor (That’s Me) Regarding Coverage

There is a devil and an angel on my shoulders right now, one of which is saying post this and try to explain your position. The other is saying post it, rant your little heart out and close off the comment section. Let’s see which voice I should have listened to: In recent days, there have been some “complaints” on the rise in iPhone coverage, specifically after the official iPhone announcement. I just want to clarify something right from … [read full article]

T-Mobile Sending Out Carrier Update Enabling LTE For Unlocked iPhone Devices On April 5th?

Update: As some of you have mentioned, there is no mention of LTE specifically in the body of the image below. Word from our sources is that this carrier update will enable LTE and it makes sense, given that  seven LTE markets are live and a carrier .ipcc update is all that’s required to do so.  As T-Mobile customers using unlocked AT&T or unlocked iPhone devices have had some lingering questions regarding their current device and … [read full article]

T-Mobile Confirms No Lumia 810 LTE Support With Short Statement

After weeks of speculation, most of it unwarranted the issue of LTE inside the Lumia 810 has finally been put to rest. As a number of stories have surfaced in the past few days indicating T-Mobile had indicated the device wasn’t in fact LTE-ready, I decided to do one last check with T-Mobile: While the Nokia Lumia 810 features a chipset, which provides the hardware capability to support both HSPA+42 and LTE, the device will not … [read full article]

Unboxing And First Look At The International Variant Of The HTC One

To say that we’re excited about the HTC One would be putting it mildly, damn near ecstatic would be more appropriate. In fact, it appears that based on our weekend poll there’s more excitement for the HTC One than the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S 4 among TmoNews eraders. We’re hoping to get our hands on a T-Mobile variant very, very soon but in the meantime we sent TodaysiPhone.com Managing Editor Cam Bunton into the British … [read full article]
