Best Buy Posts T-Mobile HTC One Pre-Order For $249

With HTC One pre-orders already hitting the HTC site without warning and selling out just as fast, attention now turns to retailers like Best Buy, which has placed the One up for sale online for $249. Before we move forward, I’ll try and remind everyone once again that third-party national retailers are not selling T-Mobile devices with the Simple Choice Value Plans, so this offer requires a Classic Plan. Moving on, the estimated date of … [read full article]

Update: After spending the better half of my day trying to figure out when this update would roll out, T-Mobile has removed the support page leading us to wonder if it was posted prematurely. As we remarked below in the main text, today was noted earlier in the week as the available date so we really don’t know what happend or why. Pre-Order The HTC One Direct From HTC, Ships April 18th

Here’s a bit of a kicker for those of us still eagerly awaiting T-Mobile’s announcement of an official HTC One release date. The manufacturers own “shop” page has placed the T-Mobile variant up for pre-order with shipping taking place on April 18th. With the 18th as a shipping date, my best guess is that we’re then looking at the 19th as an official release date, which does line up with other rumors I’ve heard but unable … [read full article]

(Updated) Public Service Announcement: iPhone 5 Pre-Orders Start Tomorrow

Updated: A previous draft stated that T-Mobile was expecting 200,000 pre-orders, that number I’m now being told is the amount of people who have signed up for more information about the pre-order. While I’m having a harder time than I care to admit nailing down the time iPhone pre-orders will go on sale, they are going on sale at some point tomorrow. I’ll be sure to update this post as soon as I hear back through … [read full article]

New Android Distribution Chart Released As Google Changes To Counting Active Users

We look forward to Google’s Android distribution each month to see just how much growth the newest Android releases gain. Starting in April, we’re going to see a whole different way of keeping track of devices as the developer team announced via Google+. The new device dashboards are based on the devices of users who visit the Google Play Store (rather than devices that have checked-in to Google servers). As a result, the dashboards more accurately … [read full article]

Editorial: A Quick Note From Your Editor (That’s Me) Regarding Coverage

There is a devil and an angel on my shoulders right now, one of which is saying post this and try to explain your position. The other is saying post it, rant your little heart out and close off the comment section. Let’s see which voice I should have listened to: In recent days, there have been some “complaints” on the rise in iPhone coverage, specifically after the official iPhone announcement. I just want to clarify something right from … [read full article]
