Earlier today, T-Mobile announced that it will be acquiring the Sprint-branded assets of Brookings Municipal Utilities (BMU) in Brookings, South Dakota. This acquisition involves a series of cell sites and around 14,000 customers situated in Sioux Falls, Watertown, and Brookings, South Dakota, and Sioux City, Iowa.  With this acquisition, T-Mobile’s retail distribution and network coverage will be further expanded in these key areas. One of our readers sent over a screenshot of a message he received from T-Mobile informing him of a “security event” under his account. The message contained a link to a website that explained the issue, to which the subscriber called customer service to ask more information about the matter. T-Mobile will no longer support these devices in January

T-Mobile recommended to stop claiming it has a more reliable 5G network

Once again, the National Advertising Review Board (NARB) has asked T-Mobile to stop making claims on the reliability of their 5G network. The decision of the board comes after Verizon made complaints on the claims made by T-Mobile on an ad launched this year.  The ad, featuring Bill Nye, received flak after T-Mobile claimed that their 5G network was more reliable than their competitors.
