T-Mobile CEO Sends Out Personal Note, Thanks You For Being A Customer

In what can only be attributed to yesterdays disappointing showing by T-Mobile in the JD Power award category for best wireless customer care, Chief Executive Philip Humm has sent (all T-Mobile) customers a “personal note.” I think it’s clear that this statement is a direct response to the customer response popping up online in the last 24 hours regarding T-Mobile’s fourth place showing. On a side note, I think those of you in the comments who … [read full article]

T-Mobile Releases Statement Regarding JD Power Showing

T-Mobile is on the offensive today, hoping to get word out about their own disappointment on today’s fourth place JD Power wireless customer care awards. While we’ve already got two internal statements covered inside our earlier post, this is the official media statement being circled around courtesy of T-Mobile’s PR team. I appreciate T-Mobile’s recognition of their own disappointment and I truly believe they can bring the level of service we expect back this year. They … [read full article]

Concerned About Your Data Usage While Roaming, Try Onavo

It’s rare that we preview and throw our weight behind an app on TmoNews, as a carrier-specific blog I haven’t attempted to cover a lot of outside of T-Mobile’s purview. Sometimes an app comes along that’s worth bringing your attention to and given the recently leaked upcoming changes for T-Mobile’s domestic roaming policy, we bring you Onavo. Onavo is a Android/iOS application designed to help watch your data usage and control your data bill. Onavo works … [read full article]

HTC Says Some Of Its Handsets Leak Wi-Fi Passwords

HTC is acknowledging this morning a software flaw found on some of their Android phones that openly offers secure credential across any Wi-Fi network they are connected with. A report from TheNextWeb shows that there is little in the way of stopping someone from grabbing this information and using it for mischievous purposes. The flaw affects a number of HTC devices, however, the Sensation 4G is the only T-Mobile device on the list. According to … [read full article]

Newest JD Power Report Shows T-Mobile Dropping To Fourth Place For Customer Service

This is one report I’m truly disappointed to write as I feel the mighty have fallen. T-Mobile, once an all-star in the customer service field with enough JD Power awards to fill an entire trophy room, has fallen to fourth place in the most recent JD Power Wireless Customer Care report announced this morning. Don’t get me wrong, I had early signs this was happening as I reported back on January 27th that T-Mobile was in … [read full article]

Samsung SGH-T769 Passes Through The FCC, User Agent String Appears

Chalk up another forthcoming T-Mobile device we can’t name in the form of the Samsung SGH-T769. It was back on January 25th that we identified the SGH-T999 user agent string and while we believe it’s the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G, we can’t say anything with 100% certainty. Given that Samsung has all but maxed out its T9x9 model numbers, we’re not sure if the T769 is high-end, mid-range or somewhere in-between. Unfortunately, the FCC … [read full article]

myTouch 3G Receiving Software Update, Allows For Google Security Fix

Lookout original myTouch 3G owners, we’re going back in time today as T-Mobile has released some info on a software update heading your way. Unfortunately, this update is rather “minor” as updates go, but it does allow for the application of a Google security fix. Unfortunately for any myTouch 3G owners out there, Google no longer supports Android 2.2.1 Froyo for any further OS updates, however this update is just a bug fix so you’re receiving … [read full article]

Updated Inventory Sheet Offers New Details For LG myTouch Line, Sensation 4G

Last week we ran a story showing off a recent T-Mobile inventory report highlighting a number of handsets T-Mobile was preparing to send to the smartphone graveyard. As it turns out, some of that information was right and some of it apparently, was not. We can’t say for certain why the first report had…what now appears to be incorrect information, but we now have the most recent inventory report which does reflect a few differences from last … [read full article]
