T-Mobile Stores Begin Receiving ISIS-Ready SIM Cards As Mobile Payment Services Readies For Nationwide Launch

As news broke in late July that the ISIS mobile payment system was finally ready to go nationwide later this year, it was only time before T-Mobile stores started to ramp up as well. As one of the three national carriers supporting the Google Wallet competitor, T-Mobile stores in the Salt Lake City and Austin, Texas areas began receiving this SIM cards last year. However, after a series of delays ISIS appears to be on … [read full article]

T-Mobile CEO John Legere, Best Twitter Account In Wireless?

Ok, if you had the chance to sit down one-on-one with T-Mobile CEO John Legere, you might ask for better phones, (even) cheaper rate, improved service or something else you want T-Mobile to do better. Still, if you’re a social media junkie like me you might recognize that Legere has quickly become the most interesting and active wireless executives in recent memory. With the knowledge that I doubt we’ll ever see Dan Hesse (Sprint), Ralph de le … [read full article]

T-Mobile Now Rolling Out BlackBerry Q10 Software Update With Wi-Fi Calling?

I wouldn’t exactly call this concrete, but according to some early reports on Twitter, BlackBerry Q10 users should be on the lookout for a software update. This update will welcomed with open arms by Q10 owners as it brings a much-requested feature with the addition of Wi-Fi calling. The update itself only seems to be 2MB in size so any other features are likely to be minor, if they exist at all. T-Mobile’s support site … [read full article]

T-Mobile, Pro-Surfer, Bikini, Under Cover Mission, Sony Xperia Z And Well…Just Watch

I honestly have no idea what’s going on with this commercial other than to say it’s totally unlike anything I’ve seen T-Mobile do in recent memory. That being said, am I really complaining about hot CIA-types, a pro-surfer in a bikini and Sony’s flagship Xperia Z Android device now available only as a T-Mobile exclusive? Hell no. Still, I’d love to know which T-Mobile exec personally signed off on this ad and shake their hand for … [read full article]

DSC3913wtmk-660x438

A series of articles have come to my attention lately all of which capitalize on T-Mobile’s second quarter earnings and how the company’s fortune may finally be looking up. Credit can be attributed to a number of factors including T-Mobile’s outspoken CEO John Legere, the new Simple Choice rate plans, the release of the iPhone etc. As Roger Etner from Fierce Wireless points … [read full article]

AT&T Takes Another JD Power Award, T-Mobile Still Has Work To Do

T-Mobile still has plenty of work to do according to a new JD Power award that once again shows the carrier bringing up the rear in Volume 2 of the Wireless Purchase Experience. The semi-annual study evaluates “the wireless purchase experience of customers using any one of three contact channels: phone calls with sales representatives; visits to a retail wireless store; or online. Overall customer satisfaction with both full-service and non-contract branded carriers is based on six factors … [read full article]

Industry Analyst Speculates The Tide Has Finally Turned In T-Mobile’s Favor

With T-Mobile’s first truly positive quarterly results still fresh in the mind of industry analysts, at least one such industry watcher is publicly stating T-Mobile is on the prowl. In a research note last Friday, UBS Investment Research analyst John Hodulik notes that T-Mobile’s second quarter successes means “more upside” for T-Mobile’s share value. Hodulik also insinuated that the successes of T-Mobile are likely to … [read full article]

HTC’s First Robert Downey Jr Full Length Ad Leaks Online, But Is It Any Good?

Update: Moments after this post went live, HTC posted the full 2:02 commercial on their own YouTube page.  HTC’s first Robert Downey Jr. (inspired?) commercial for the company’s recently announced “Change” campaign has leaked online. With the actors recent string of movie successes, I expected a real “wow” or “cool” factor with this $1 billion dollar campaign. … [read full article]

Moto X Sold Through Google Play Won’t Be Google Edition, Will Keep Custom Features

I can’t remember being this excited about an Android device in a long time and while I know many of you will look at me and say “David, what about the One or S 4?” Well, it’s the size and hardware of the Moto X that really has my interest and there’s a bit of good (or bad) news for those of you looking to buy the device in the future. While the [read full article]

Samsung Galaxy Note III To Release With Android 4.3? Say It’s True

If there is one thing I love most to hear out of a potential Android launch, it’s that the model in question will come with the latest version of the OS. According to a DLNA certification for the Galaxy Note III, that’s exactly what will get with Android 4.3 and the Galaxy Note II successor. There are still plenty of questions surrounding the Note III, but we’re positive we’ll find our answers at the … [read full article]

T-Mobile Ready Sony Xperia Z Ultra Passes Through The FCC, But Will They Carry It?

A quick reminder that passage through the FCC doesn’t guarantee a T-Mobile arrival, but the appearance of the Xperia Z Ultra with T-Mobile-ready HSPA+ and LTE has us thinking. The FCC filing for the 6.4″ smartphone/tablet/thing shows LTE bands 2,4,5 and 7 and 1700 HSPA+. With T-Mobile already selling the smaller sibling in the Xperia Z, it’s not unthinkable that T-Mobile could pick up another Sony device. Of course, there’s no carrier indicators anywhere in the FCC … [read full article]
