St Joseph, Missouri gets a taste of wideband LTE

Since it announced late last year that it would be launching a much faster wideband LTE network, T-Mobile’s been mostly focussing on the large, major metro areas. But now that a lot of those are covered, it’s seemingly activating its 15+15/20+20 network in some smaller towns and cities too. Not long ago we got word that the network had been given a boost in Ludlow, Massachusetts. And today we’ve … [read full article]

Iliad purportedly in talks with private-equity firms to raise cash for T-Mobile bid

According to Bloomberg‘s sources, Iliad is talking to yet more companies in order to raise more capital for its attempt to take over T-Mobile. Iliad is a name which I (and I suspect, many of you) had never come across until it opted to submit an audacious bid to buy a 56% stake in T-Mobile US in July. The move was announced just days before Sprint decided to back out … [read full article]

T-Mobile’s network upgrades are gathering pace as we near yet another major Uncarrier announcement. One of the latest towns to see T-Mo’s “Data Strong” wideband is Ludlow in Massachusetts. Invites are out! T-Mobile’s next Uncarrier initiative is officially happening the day after Apple announces its next iPhone. Next iPhone will be unveiled on September 9

Earlier today, Apple finally sent out official invitations to a special event it’s holding on September 9th. The invite said very little, and didn’t give any of the usual clues we might try to find in a cryptic Apple invitations. “9.9.2014” and “Wish we could say more” is the extent of the message. That, and part of the iconic Apple logo in the background. Many pundits looking in to things far too deeply would suggest that “say” … [read full article]

HTC One (M8) for Windows coming to T-Mobile

I was almost in tears when I saw that Verizon’s HTC One M8 for Windows was a global exclusive. Thankfully though, the device is only going to be an exclusive for Big Red for a limited time. It is going to be available elsewhere and – more importantly – it’s coming to T-Mobile soon.
