Around the Bend, Huawei and Android

Remember that phone, debuted at MWC, that looked like….dare I say it….but was running Android? Yeah, that one.  Well now it is all grown up and doesn’t resemble the iPhone ( BOO!) quite as much. It seems like a few more months in processing has made it look more like an HTC Touch Pro 2 (YAY!).  Few specifics are known about this phone as of yet, but it will hold a 3.5 inch touch screen … [read full article]

T-Mobile Retail Store's Closing Early?!

Good Evening TmoNews readers! According to our tipster, on June 27th ALL T-Mobile stores will be closing approximately 2-3hrs early for a “company rebranding,” whatever the hell that means. T-mobile must be in the mood for makeovers, first the MobileMakeover bringing back the lovely and enchanting Catherine Zeta Jones. Second we are given a MyT-Mobile makeover and now this? What could this mean? Is T-Mobile prepping for a new phone launch, or is this simply just … [read full article]

Cupcake FINALLY coming?

androidcupcake2

I think we can all live without recapping the large number of cupcake rumors/delays and more rumors. With that in mind and judging by emails coming into my inbox and this report from Engadgetmobile we’re starting to see users FINALLY getting their cupcake fill. T-mobile is still allowing for early June for all G1 users to receive their upgrade so if you don’t get it within the next 7 minutes, don’t huff and … [read full article]

More 3G, More 3G!!

i-see-what-you-did-there

Hot on the heels of this mornings 3G news comes in via a trusted tipster who sent us a very believable looking list showing off 3G launch dates for the rest of the year. Unfortunately its broken down by quarter but we expect as the days count down, actual release dates will leak as well. Nobody wants to read any more from me, so here we go with the list, Q3 and Q4 will follow after … [read full article]

Time For Some Promised 3G!

my3ginfo

Unfortunately some of the above dates have already come and gone, so T-mobile users in both Springfield and Rockford should already be enjoying what is 3G goodness. Henderson, NV and Wichita Falls, TX T-mobile residents however have only but a few hours left before they too can enjoy the high speed freedom and clear voice quality that comes with 3G love. While the latter cities were mentioned for June in our April 3G city expose, we know … [read full article]

Oy, Cupcake Gets Pushed Back!

g1june

After all that talk, all the anticipation, patient waiting and who knows what else we were that close to Cupcake. So close we could taste it, feel it and for some lucky few, using it. Unfortunately, as the image states, T-mobile is still working out the last few kinks and has pushed the rollout date back by at “approximately” a week. We’re hoping that they sincerely mean just one week and not two but time … [read full article]

Still Have Questions About Cupcake?!

gview

I know cupcake has taken up quite a bit of the news spots lately and for good reason, a million G1 users is a user base that can’t be ignored. So here we go, one more addition to the cupcake news cycle and then hopefully, and if you are still unfamiliar with the cupcake update then this sheet courtesy of our tipster might answer some questions. Of course, if you are a G1 user and unfamiliar … [read full article]

T-mobile G1 V.2 Round Robin!

probably

I’m not even really sure where to begin with this story, other than to say yesterday saw quite a bit of back and forth regarding who will actually manufacturer the rumored G1 V.2. Reports yesterday actually pegged Motorola as the device manufacturer, marking their first entry into the Android marketplace. Turns out, that wasn’t exactly true. The next guess in the G1 V.2 round robin game last night was that Samsung remains top prediction … [read full article]
