T-Mobile To Be Exclusive US Carrier For Nokia Lumia 925 Windows Phone 8 Smartphone

I guess there was a good reason after all for T-Mobile to remove their current Windows Phone 8 lineup. At an early morning media event in London, Nokia announced the Lumia 925, a Lumia 920 successor of sorts with a “sleek, metal-finished design, new AMOLED display to make it possible to view content from more angles, and new features and advances in our PureView imaging technology for capturing clearer, sharper pictures.” It’s safe to … [read full article]

T-Mobile Increases iPhone 5 Down Payment Price To $149 As Promotional Pricing Ends

Ah T-Mobile, I knew your introductory pricing of $99 down payment wasn’t going to last. As of today, T-Mobile will ask well-qualified customers to drop $149 as their down payment instead of $99 as has been the case since the April 12th launch. I don’t recall anyone or anywhere telling me the $99 price was only good for one month, but in hindsight I should have seen … [read full article]

Google’s New Android Chief Sundar Pichai Speaks Out Before Google I/O

We’re set to see a lot more of Sundar Pichai in his new role as the head of Android later this week at Google’s I/O keynote. Before that, Pichai spoke to Wired and talked a little about what we will see later this week, the future of Android, slow Android updates and how Android and Chrome can live together. On Samsung being so dominant: I realize this gets played up in the press a lot. … [read full article]

Samsung Galaxy S III Android 4.1.2 Software Update Now Rolling Out

Listen up Samsung Galaxy S III owners as a software update is headed your way in the form of Android 4.1.2. There’s no hints as to what kind of changes the update brings outside of multi-window support and T-Mobile has yet to update their support page for the update. However, at least one person receiving the update noticed the inclusion of two more apps: Paper Artist and Group Play and T-Mobile’s new “4G” logo. The … [read full article]

HTC Posts Two New BlinkFeed Commercials, Takes Shot At “Digging” For Apps

I don’t know if HTC is taking a shot at Apple, Samsung, Nokia or all the above with this new pair of HTC One BlinkFeed-specific commercials but they are certainly poking fun at someone. Regardless, Sense 5 may or may not be your thing and if you don’t want BlinkFeed on your home screen, there’s no rule saying you have to keep it. Still, the idea that all of your information is right there when … [read full article]

(Updated X2) Hacked T-Mobile Carrier Update Boosts Speed For iPhone 5 1900MHz Refarmed Users

Updated X2: The guide has been updated to fix some of the instructions.  As the iPhone 5 launched on T-Mobile’s network, existing AT&T unlocked iPhone 5 customers received a carrier update to enable the LTE signal. As it turns out, in some cases the carrier update added something good with LTE, but negatively affected the signal and speeds achieved on the company’s refarmed PCS 1900MHz network. Well, there’s some good news thanks to … [read full article]

T-Mobile Updates SIM Unlock Policy To Allow Exceptions For International Travelers

As T-Mobile’s new SIM unlock policy went into affect, a small but vocal minority found the new rules to be less than agreeable. At issue is the ability to unlock your device prior to the device being completely paid off in the need a customer wants to travel internationally. A petition began on Change.org earlier in the month hoping to bring some attention to the issue and allow for T-Mobile to make the necessary changes. … [read full article]

Samsung, T-Mobile Set To Launch At Least Four More Devices This Year?

samsung

Sometimes a bit of digging around can prove worth while, especially in the case of poking around Samsung’s uaprof code as I came up with at least four different Samsung devices headed to T-Mobile in the future. How do I know it’s four you ask? Technically, it’s five that I found but the fifth listing is the Galaxy S 4 and so obviously that doesn’t count. A quick trip down memory lane to remind you that … [read full article]

T-Mobile Dropping MobileLife Album Support, Switching Users To Google Drive

MobileLife Albums users on T-Mobile should take note as the carrier prepares to shut down the service as of June 30th. All won’t be lost however as T-Mobile has partnered with Google to offer a new home for all your MobileLife content. T-Mobile states in their FAQ that rather than go “head-to-head” against world-class competition and their “compelling photo storage services,” they decided its best to offer customers the “best in-class functionality offered by Google.” After June 30th, … [read full article]

T-Mobile’s Mother’s Day Advertising Features Existing “$0 Down” iPhone 5 Trade-In Offer

T-Mobile’s advertising for Mother’s Day weekend will focus heavily on the iPhone 5 and the trade-in promotion that has been ongoing since April 12th. That advertising itself will see three national newspaper insertions as well as papers in the top 20 markets. The offer allows both new and existing qualified customers to trade-in an iPhone 4 or 4S and receive a trade-in amount that helps wipe out the down payment on the iPhone 5. The result being a … [read full article]

T-Mobile Shakes Up the Industry; Competitors Respond to the Uncarrier

We all know that T-Mobile’s new Uncarrier campaign is risky and refreshing, bound to cause a change in the US wireless industry. As we guessed, just a month after the launch of the Uncarrier campaign, Magenta’s competitors are already responding to TMo’s Simple Choice plans. Pronounced “A-O” and short for All in One, Aio Wireless is a wholly owned subsidiary of AT&T, operating on AT&T’s HSPA+ network. Aio Wireless is AT&T’s response to Simple Choice, almost mirroring … [read full article]
