Dear T-Mobile: You’ve Come A Long Way, Don’t Sue Over A Color

As a long time fan of T-Mobile, I’ve supported T-Mobile through thick and thin, acquisition rumors, AT&T buyout attempts and quarter after quarter of disappointing financials. Still, I love the little Magenta carrier that could but another lawsuit over the “Magenta” color just seems both unnecessary and ridiculous. T-Mobile is building up good will right now thanks in [read full article]

Upcoming Alcatel One Touch Appears In The Wild, FCC Docs

T-Mobile and Alcatel haven’t released any details on the “One Touch Fierce” but some FCC docs and some “in the wild” images show clear T-Mobile branding. There isn’t a whole lot we know about the phone, but we do know it has a 5 megapixel rear camera, runs Android 4.1.2, comes packed with a 1800mAh battery, offers Wi-Fi calling support, a microSD slot and three capacitive buttons. That’s not a lot to go on, but for an introductory smartphone I … [read full article]

T-Mobile Sues AT&T Prepaid Carrier Aio Wireless Over Use Of “Famous Magenta Color”

T-Mobile is ready to defend its “famous Magenta color trademark” once again as a new lawsuit is filed against AT&T’s Aio Wireless prepaid carrier. The case is likely to echo T-Mobile’s infamous lawsuit against Engadget over the color, which T-Mobile, for which T-Mobile has a trademark. According to Law360, T-Mobile filed the lawsuit last Friday in a US District Court in Texas. T-Mobile alleges that AT&T launched Aio after T-Mobile unveiled its Simple Choice plans. … [read full article]

T-Mobile Scheduling Employee Blackout Dates For September 20th-22nd?

I do love a good rumor and this one should make all you iPhone fans happy as I’m hearing whispers T-Mobile is planning blackout dates between September 20th and 22nd. Like all good rumors, we should take this with the standard “subject to change” warning but my sources suggest this could be iPhone related. Their confidence is supported by the rumor mill already highlighting September 20th as a potential launch day for the next-generation iPhone … [read full article]

Moto X Review: Motorola’s First Smartphone On T-Mobile In Years

For a long time I’ve wanted to get my hands on an Android smartphone that is the right combination of size and specs. Many might (and will) argue that the Moto X doesn’t hold up on paper to the Galaxy S 4 and HTC One, but in my real-world experience it’s just as good. It remains very unfortunate that, for whatever reason, T-Mobile has decided not to offer, at least initially, the Moto X through their … [read full article]

Samsung Exec Confirms Galaxy Note III Announcement On September 4th

A bit of good news this morning as a Samsung exec apparently absolutely, positively confirmed the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Note III on September 4th. Samsung’s unpacked event already seemed like a sure thing for the Galaxy Note III given that’s the same event the Note II was announced last year. However, this time it’s straight from the horse’s mouth thanks to Samsung’s Lee Young-hee and a conversation with Korea Times. … [read full article]

Image Confirms T-Mobile Moto X Availability Through “Google Play Only?”

With lingering questions still surrounding the T-Mobile Moto X launch, perhaps this image that just landed in my inbox will help clear up some answers. According to the internal shot from T-Mobile, the Moto X will only be available through “Google Play.” Immediately after the launch, a statement provided by T-Mobile Marketing Chief Mike Sievert stated the Moto X would “initially be available through Motorola’s channels.” That’s slightly contradictory from this image and it’s … [read full article]

“Search Restaurants” Or Take Advantage Of T-Mobile’s JUMP! Upgrade

I kind of like this one, and it’s an all too familiar story before the days of Siri and Google Now. I’ve seen some mixed reviews and sure, Bill Hader is no Carly, but I think they are on the right path with these commercials. It’s a familiar, comedic face and that’s a good thing. Still, I just want one commercial with Hader as Stefan. “Searching for a place to eat with an old phone … [read full article]

T-Mobile Posts Moto X Support Page, Still No Launch Details

We’re still eagerly awaiting any kind of launch details to officially drop from T-Mobile surrounding the Moto X launch, but until then we’ve got a newly posted support page. For the most part, it’s just a placeholder now and I really don’t expect anything on the launch to be posted in this section, but it makes me hopeful T-Mobile might say something soon. T-Mobile CEO John Legere teased the release of the Moto … [read full article]

Motorola VP: Moto X Developer Editions “Rolling Out In Days”

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t still disappointed that T-Mobile didn’t pick up its own “branded” edition of the Moto X. I’ve been using an AT&T model for the past 10 days or so and…I love it. It’s size, its feel in the hand, it’s glorious. Sure, for spec-heads it won’t compare pound-for-pound against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S 4 and HTC One on paper. Then there’s the … [read full article]
