New Moto X announced, model XT1092 is band 12 compatible

Although T-Mobile’s 700MHz network has only been tested in a few locations so far, not many customers have had a chance to experience its performance. Unlike the company’s higher frequencies, band 12 is touted as being stronger, and better at penetrating building walls, meaning you’ll get a steady LTE signal even when you’re indoors. Currently, only the Galaxy Avant is compatible but if recent news is anything to go by, there could be more great handsets supporting … [read full article]

Galaxy Note 4 tested on band 12, 700MHz frequencies

Before any device launch in the U.S., products have be tested thoroughly and have the test filings published by the FCC. For the Galaxy Note 4 then, it was only a matter of time before the reports for that device were unearthed and we got to see what bands it’s going to support. Under FCC ID A3LSMN910A, device model number SM-N910A (Galaxy Note 4) shows signs that it could be compatible with T-Mobile’s A-block 700MHz … [read full article]

MetroPCS expands to 10 new markets, offers extra data free to customers

The MetroPCS team has been “crushing it” according to T-Mobile’s latest press release, and I’m inclined to agree. T-Mobile’s darker purple side is now available in ten new markets, and is celebrating by giving its customers extra data on the plans. MetroPCS customers on the $40 plan will get 1GB of data each month, doubling it from 500MB. $50 plan subscribers get an extra 500MB too, boosting their allowance from 2.5GB to 3GB of 4G LTE data … [read full article]

Hints at new products can crop up in many places, but often times if it’s a minor device, T-Mobile itself can inform us of new gadgets before they’re available. This time out, that’s exactly what’s happened. In T-Mobile’s Support Pages, in the ‘Mobile Internet’ section, information on a new mobile hotspot has been uploaded. Dubbed the T-Mobile 4G HotSpot Z64, the device has been manufactured by ZTE. All kinds of information is publicly available, from … [read full article]

St Joseph, Missouri gets a taste of wideband LTE

Since it announced late last year that it would be launching a much faster wideband LTE network, T-Mobile’s been mostly focussing on the large, major metro areas. But now that a lot of those are covered, it’s seemingly activating its 15+15/20+20 network in some smaller towns and cities too. Not long ago we got word that the network had been given a boost in Ludlow, Massachusetts. And today we’ve … [read full article]

Iliad purportedly in talks with private-equity firms to raise cash for T-Mobile bid

According to Bloomberg‘s sources, Iliad is talking to yet more companies in order to raise more capital for its attempt to take over T-Mobile. Iliad is a name which I (and I suspect, many of you) had never come across until it opted to submit an audacious bid to buy a 56% stake in T-Mobile US in July. The move was announced just days before Sprint decided to back out … [read full article]
