So here we go with another rumor pertaining to the iPhone, T-Mobile and our hopes and dreams for its arrival. Whatever you think about the iPhone, its appearance on the magenta network would certainly give a boost to a fourth place T-Mobile. Deutsche Telekom CEO Rene Obermann hinted in an interview today that the T-Mobile USA branch is indeed hoping to land a deal for the iPhone.  Speaking to the Financial Times CEO Rene Obermann didn’t detail any specifics regarding the talks but hoped to have a deal in place as soon as late 2010 or 2011. Interestingly enough he emphasized that Android would “support the network in the meantime.”

While of course Apple declined comment for the story and never discusses future carrier plans T-Mobile is a likely partner though certainly not the anticipated front-runner. With the largest customer base in America, most expect Verizon to pick up the next iteration of the iPhone though with technology similar to that of AT&T, T-Mobile is a more likely fit. While Android fans on T-Mobile may lament the arrival of the iPhone, there would be little question as to whether or not it could help the T-Mobile USA branch. The iPhone brings the customers as AT&T has discovered with consistent records of customer ads every quarter. With AT&T network troubles prominent in the news and T-Mobile making vast improvements it might be opportune for them to seize on AT&T troubles. For the moment, it’s all rumor and speculation but when the Deutsche Telekom CEO speaks, we listen.

Update:  There seems to be a bit of confusion as quite a few of you have emailed in stating that the $99.99 price is showing up in your upgrade. However, some of you are also reporting the upgrade price to be $189.99.  We’ll try to get to the bottom of this ASAP!

That’s right, Android fans.  Today is March 17^th, otherwise known as Cliq  XT arrival day.  Unfortunately, though, the news isn’t all sunshine and rainbows as we should have stuck with our gut and believed in the $129.99 price point.  As it turns out, the news we received on the 15^th was inaccurate and the documents we received originally were right all along.  Sigh.

Oh well, for $129.99 you’re still getting a hell of a deal with the Cliq XT and reviews so far have been mostly positive.  A major downside is Android 1.5.  However, we’re sure Motorola and Google aren’t going to let the Cliq XT sit at 1.5 forever.  Expect to see an update down the road sure to breathe new life into an already feature-rich Android device.

Nothing says “buy me” like a glossy advertisement and that’s exactly what T-Mobile is dropping in their stores.  The trifecta of upcoming phones arguably covers the entire gambit of needs for smartphone lovers everywhere.  If you want some Android goodness, the Cliq XT with some MotoBlur window dressing has you covered.  Perhaps you want a touchscreen without all the smartphone frills but with some extra horsepower over that standard flip.  The Nokia Nuron is waiting for you.  Then, of course, there is the prize, the Transformers viewing, E Reading, 4.3-inch screen browsing Windows Phone bad boy.  The HTC HD2 needs no introduction on this blog but I do love watching Transformers over and over and over.  I know it’s a Michael Bay movie but I watch it for the explosions and testing my subwoofer, not the storyline!  Duh!  Anyway, this advertisement is ready for showtime come March 24^th and you can bet T-Mobile is looking for this trifecta of devices to lead their second quarter charge.

Finally, after months of speculation and rumors, rumors and more rumors, the Magenta mothership herself has confirmed the date of launch.  It’s March 24^th.  So get your piggy banks cracked open or beg and plead for money from your Mom but come one week from this very Wednesday, this baby is all yours.  If the price is right.

We’ve been hearing whispers through emails and smoke signals that the Nokia Nuron was indeed facing a short delay to launch.  We can now officially confirm the delay as well as the March 24^th launch date.  Originally slated for the 17^th, we’re not sure what the cause of the delay was and, frankly, since this phone only requires a $10 data plan, we’re willing to wait an extra week.  The pricing details were missing from the launch announcement, but we’re still hearing the $69.99 for 2-year and $179.99 no contract are solid prices.  That $179.99 no contract is a steal.  Want more of the Nuron?  Take a look here and here!

Well, after a little bit of website trouble, we’re back and ready to report some good news. For you Cliq XT fans, a few more days of waiting will cost you less than previously thought.  The first of the month showed us a leaked price sheet that put the Cliq XT at $129.99 and, as it turns out, the actual price on a 2-year contract will be $99.99.  No word on pricing for Even More Plus customers.  As we last heard, it was $329.99 so we’ll be sticking with that until we hear differently.  Judging by the feature set and with the probability of a future Android OS update, $99.99 is a steal for the Cliq XT.  In our eyes, $99.99 is a sweet spot and should bring some nice sales numbers.  Of course, you can always get two.

We’ve had the good fortune of knowing the HTC HD2 price point for almost two weeks now.  Some of you wanted to wait until it got a little closer and/or wanted something else “official.”  Well, now we have an HTC HD2 leaked price card bound to grace the shelves of T-Mobile retail stores once again and it confirms that beautiful $199.99 price. Of course, with the price so low you can always buy two, especially considering the current BOGO going down now till the 31^st.  Assuming the phone drops the 24^th with no more release date round robin, that’s a solid week to grab two of these Windows Phone bad boys.

So what say you, $199?  Will you break open the piggy bank?
