(Updated) New Group Of LTE Sightings Includes Portland, Buffalo And Montgomery

Update: I almost missed a number of sightings out of Albany, NY this past 24 hours so…there’s Albany in here now as well. It’s been a few days since our last LTE sighting post, but that certainly hasn’t been due to a lack of emails pouring in. Today’s group includes three cities (Portland, Oregon; Buffalo, New York and Montgomery, Alabama) that are not a part of the extended list we have worked off for T-Mobile’s May and … [read full article]

T-Mobile Changes Deposit Amounts For Upcoming ‘Simple Choice With No Credit Check’ Plan

With T-Mobile’s “Simple Choice with No Credit Check” rate plan still unannounced, changes behind the scenes aren’t entirely unexpected or surprising. Given that, it came as little surprise when this new tidbit was dropped in my inbox indicating T-Mobile had lowered the deposit cost by $10 per line. According to the image: “Deposits will [now] match rate plan monthly recurring charges which will make it simpler to explain and easier for customers to understand.” As mentioned … [read full article]

Detailing T-Mobile’s ‘Simple Choice With No Credit Check’ Upcoming Rate Plan

With the knowledge that training began yesterday, it’s clear that T-Mobile’s Simple Choice with no credit check rate plan is on the cusp of being announced as part of T-Mobile’s Phase 2 Uncarrier strategy. The plan itself is almost reminiscent of FlexPay, where it provides T-Mobile customers with the full T-Mobile rate plan experience without the burden of a credit check or high deposit. “Simple Choice with no credit check (SCNC) is a new service … [read full article]

T-Mobile’s UNcarrier Phase 2 plan is swinging into gear as employee training kicks off this morning. As expected, Phase 2 revolves around a new Simple Choice As our earlier rumors indicated, at least a portion of Phase 2 will revolve around a new “Simple Choice with no credit check” plan. With Sprint Off The Table, Will Dish Turn Its Attention To T-Mobile?

With Dish Network abandoning its attempt to scoop up Sprint Nextel out from under SoftBank, the question now becomes where will they look next? Dish has made it perfectly clear that it wants to succeed and work in the wireless space, which begs the question about where they go from here? As it stands today, Dish holds 40MHz of 2GHz spectrum and a small portion of 700MHz spectrum. Analysts of course suggest that Dish [read full article]

Op-Ed: What A Difference A Year Makes In T-Mobile Land

A thought occurred to me shortly after the Sony Xperia Z announcement yesterday (yes, I have thoughts!) and it circled around the idea that in the last 12 months T-Mobile has come completely around with flagship handsets. Okay, maybe 12 months isn’t an exact timeframe and I honestly don’t think the timeframe itself is what matters…just the idea that some time ago we spent a lot … [read full article]
