Verizon Says They Use Spectrum Twice As Efficiently As T-Mobile

Ok…so let’s just get this right out-of-the-way. The reason Verizon uses spectrum twice as efficiently as T-Mobile is because their network goes out every other day. It’s easy to be spectrum efficient with a LTE network that hardly works. Ok, stupid joke over. Anyway… With T-Mobile already launching the first salvo in what will inevitably be a back and forth has now found a first Verizon response via Verizon’s policy blog. In … [read full article]

T-Mobile Moves To Block Verizon Acquisition Of Cable Company Spectrum

T-Mobile has indicated via fillings with the Federal Communications Commission their intent to persuade the government to block Verizon Wireless from acquiring spectrum from a number of cable companies. In the last few months Verizon has finalized deals to acquire spectrum from Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks and Cox Communications. T-Mobile argues that the Verizon deal would place an “excessive concentration” of wireless spectrum in the hands of one of the … [read full article]

Verizon Purchases 122 AWS-1 Licenses From SpectrumCo, Eliminating Potential Deal For T-Mobile With Cable Companies?

Assuming regulators would approve such a deal, Verizon just screwed the prospects of a T-Mobile hookup with a cable company if the AT&T deal does indeed go all the way south. Verizon Wireless has announced that it is purchasing 122 AWS-1 spectrum licenses for $3.6 billion from SpectrumCo covering 259 million POPS in the United States. SpectrumCo is a joint venture between Comcast, Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks. Comcast owns 63.6% … [read full article]

AT&T/T-Mobile Place Last In Consumer Satisfaction

The American Customer Satisfaction Index has scored AT&T and T-Mobile as the two lowest ranked wireless carriers when it comes to happy customers. One time last place carrier Sprint is now the highest ranked tied with Verizon. Sprint and Verizon both rate a 72 for for customer satisfaction in the ACSI survey which polled 8,000 households in the first quarter of 2011. T-Mobile scored a 70 down from a 73 last year and … [read full article]

T-Mobile Pokes Fun At Verizon Wireless After LTE Outage

Under normal circumstances, I would have woke up this morning, seen the tweet T-Mobile directed at Verizon and cracked a smile. Instead, I’m focused on watching Seattle area residents beat their future parent company’s pride and joy iPhone in speed tests. Of course, who knows how or if Verizon might playfully respond. If I were Verizon i’d respond with a simple statement of “Ok Tmobi…I mean future AT&T.” Just saying. @tmobile

Why Choose T-Mobile Over Everyone Else?

Magenta has long been known for its value in pricing and customer service as the reason why most choose it over the other 3 major carriers. Now, with new 4G networks launching and new handsets being available, T-Mobile has published a training sheet for employees detailing exactly why T-Mobile is the best option for consumers. The training sheet focuses on T-Mobile’s Network, Phones, Pricing, and Savings per year compared to that of AT&T … [read full article]

T-Mobile FINALLY Takes On Verizon AND AT&T With Carly

So what’s the fun in having a great device running a slow network? Well, there is no fun at all according to this new T-Mobile advertisement taking on both Verizon and AT&T. I can’t say how happy I am that T-Mobile is extending the fight beyond AT&T and going after the real competition, Verizon. You won’t find this ad on tv for another week, so feel free to rematch it here a few times. T-Mobile … [read full article]

Verizon, The iPhone And You – An Editorial

If you have been on the Internet at all over the past four days you probably know about the latest announcement.   Verizon held a rather exclusive press conference today to announce their partnership with Apple, allowing them to carry a CDMA version of the iPhone.   Guess what?  The sky hasn’t turned red, the earth hasn’t opened up, pigs aren’t flying and, most of all, twitter didn’t collapse, so this clearly wasn’t … [read full article]

Verizon CTO Calls Out T-Mobile HSPA+

Verizon is showing its usual arrogance over its network via an interview with CTO Tony Melone from Cnet. While I’ll be the first to admit, Verizon really outshines the other carriers, including our Magenta at CES, hands down that doesn’t mean they have the strongest offering of all. With that in mind, we won’t deny that they came out swinging with their selection of LTE offerings but T-Mobile is promising 25 phones[read full article]
