Will The Sidekick 4G Disappoint?

Let me preface this by saying I don’t want this to be about whether or not Android is good or bad, old or new or anything in between.  The question I wish to pose (among others) is whether or not Android is the right fit for the upcoming Sidekick 4G.  Along with that, will customers come back to the Sidekick brand when the last thing they remember about Sidekick is an … [read full article]

Sidekick Settlement Over 2009 Outage Brings Goodies

October 2009 was a time for Sidekick owners that likely still haunts their dreams and makes them shudder at the thought.  Well, maybe not that serious, but the data outage that occurred during that time caused Sidekick owners quite a lot of grief and downtime, not to mention lost data.  Finally, a settlement has been reached between Danger, Microsoft and T-Mobile regarding the “data service interruption”. Those who were part of … [read full article]

The Sidekick 4G Rumors Heat Back Up, Coming “Spring”

I’ll be the first to admit swearing off the “Sidekick Twist” rumors we originated way back last year when we thought it was the fabled Project Emerald. I’ve admittedly turned away from this project when, boom, it falls right back into my lap today.  We’re putting this firmly in the “so many ninjas saying it’s happening category, that we firmly believe it category”.  It’s come in from enough sources who attended … [read full article]

Will The Sidekick Ever Make A Comeback?

I know we could be reading entirely too much into this but when pinged last night on Twitter with a question regarding the future of the Sidekick line, @tmobile gave the above response. They could have answered in a million ways some of which would have raised suspicion and others which would have hinted that there are no current plans to continue the Sidekick line. So I stand by the notion … [read full article]

So What Do I Think Project Emerald Is?

In the recent days, weeks and months, I have seen the name “Project Emerald” tossed around to almost every single smartphone that T-Mobile might get.  At this point, I have to say I’m a little frustrated with how frequently and how loosely it’s being used.  To that end, the name itself has almost lost its luster in my eyes because of the guessing game being played hoping to nail the story.  When we first … [read full article]

Project Emerald Details Emerge, Possible Sidekick Successor Running Android?

Earlier this week we provided our viewers with exclusive details on the upcoming “Project Emerald“. Although there was much speculation suggesting that Project Emerald was the Samsung Galaxy S, our sources tell us that HTC is in fact the manufacturer. Our source is also claiming that the device is to be called the “Sidekick Twist,” though nothing has been finalized; so as usual, that is subject to change. Additionally, we hear the … [read full article]

Sidekick Has No KINs?

Sidekicks_tmonews_wm

A while back, there were several rumors floating around of Magenta supposedly discontinuing the Sidekick line. Many thought that the T-Mobile Sidekick would be replaced with the rumored Microsoft “Project Pink” handsets for Verizon Wireless. Today, April 12, Verizon Wireless and Microsoft announced the KIN ONE and the KIN TWO which are devices targeted towards the younger social networking crowd. T-Mobile states that, even though these new devices are very similar to the T-Mobile Sidekick handset, Sidekick … [read full article]

MyTouch Slide To End The Sidekick Line?

Warning: This article may cause Sidekick fans to cry, beg, kick and show other signs of emotional distress. According to BoyGenius, the myTouch Slide will end all Sidekick sales. The new tipster informed BGR that the upcoming T-Mobile myTouch Slide, will cause Magenta to slowly phase out all Sidekick sales. It is still unclear what this means. Is T-Mobile getting rid of the Sidekick line permanently? As you probably already know, the Sidekick device has become … [read full article]
