T-Mobile Named And Awarded As Walmart “Supplier Of The Year”

A big congratulations for our beloved carrier T-Mobile as they have been named Walmart’s 2011 “Supplier of the Year” in both the wireless category and overall entertainment division. T-Mobile was recognized with the retailer’s highest honor for supporting sales growth with the carriers innovative devices and affordable services. It’s nice to see T-Mobile receiving recognition, especially in light of some recent pitfalls in the world of JD Power surveys. Check out the full press release below:   … [read full article]

T-Mobile Asks FCC To Make All 700MHz LTE Networks Interoperable

T-Mobile has requested that the Federal Communications Commission consider the idea of mandating the interoperability of all LTE networks in the 700MHz band. T-Mobile argues that such a move would encourage LTE roaming and help boost public-safety, which also plans to use the 700MHz band for a nationwide broadband network. Current LTE devices offered by both Verizon and AT&T cannot work on both networks because they use different bands. The interoperability problem comes down to the different … [read full article]

While we’re not going to be terribly surprised by HTC’s newest blog post, we applaud them for continuing to keep us in loop for their current Ice Cream Sandwich rollout timetables. As expected, the HTC Sensation and Sensation XE are the first to receive the update, which has already begun rolling out. This means that the HTC Sensation 4G, T-Mobile’s very own device is up next. In HTC’s own words, the Sensation 4G “…will soon follow” … [read full article]

Both updates introduce a host of new features, few of which are more important or desirable than Wi-Fi calling. Notably absent from the introduction of both devices last year, unofficial word had us hoping to see the software update come as early as last November. Well, some five months … [read full article]

AT&T Version Of Samsung Galaxy Note Can Play Nice On T-Mobile With A Little Hackery

We first caught wind of this two days ago and took to Twitter to let the community know you can now run a AT&T Galaxy Note on T-Mobile, with some hacking. Thanks to the crazy smart members at XDA Developers, you can use the AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note (i717) and hack it to use T-Mobile’s 4G network, albeit with some caveats. There are actually two steps required to carry out this task and both steps require … [read full article]

T-Mobile’s HTC One S Makes Its Way To The FCC?

The FCC isn’t coming out and telling us exactly what the above device is, but as the boys at Engadget have noted, a T-Mobile friendly version of the HTC One S just passed through the FCC. This particular model comes equipped with a AWS 3G radio in addition to 850/1900 bands. There is some speculation that the PJ58100 is the One S for T-Mobile, not the device seen above, the PJ40100. The PJ58100 passed through the … [read full article]

T-Mobile CMO Cole Brodman Clarifies Statements On Device Subsidies

There is little question that device subsidies are a hotbed of the US wireless industry with a variety set of viewpoints about their usefulness. One man who doesn’t see them as a beneficial part of the marketplace is T-Mobile CMO Cole Brodman, who last week spoke out regarding device subsidies and the negative impact they have on the consumer and the market. While the comments we saw in our own post on Brodman’s comments were … [read full article]

T-Mobile Discontinues The Sidekick 4G, I Hope We See A Follow-Up Soon

We’re sad to report that the day has finally come for T-Mobile to retire the Sidekick 4G, the very first Android Sidekick cross-over to hit T-Mobile shelves. I first got a hands on the Sidekick 4G back in March of 2011 and loved the keyboard, and it remains one of my favorite pieces of QWERTY hardware in recent memory. First leaked in January of 2011, the Sidekick 4G brought the Sidekick brand back to the … [read full article]
