T-Mobile Roadmap Highlights Sony Xperia Z, Lumia 925 Release Date, July 14th “Major Release”

The day has finally arrived, well not the release date itself but the day we can tell you the release dates for the upcoming Xperia Z and Lumia 925. Along with that is the unknown T-Mobile 768 which is almost assuredly a prepaid device backed by Huawei, ZTE or some other manufacturer that releases under T-Mobile branding. As with all leaks, dates are subject to change but this looks pretty solid for all three handsets. Not … [read full article]

Op-Ed: What A Difference A Year Makes In T-Mobile Land

A thought occurred to me shortly after the Sony Xperia Z announcement yesterday (yes, I have thoughts!) and it circled around the idea that in the last 12 months T-Mobile has come completely around with flagship handsets. Okay, maybe 12 months isn’t an exact timeframe and I honestly don’t think the timeframe itself is what matters…just the idea that some time ago we spent a lot … [read full article]

T-Mobile Announces The Sony Xperia Z, Available In “The Coming Weeks”

In a move that we called just a few short days ago, T-Mobile has announced they will be the exclusive US carrier of the Sony Xperia Z. The Sony flagship Android smartphone will be available to T-Mobile customers in the “coming weeks” through nationwide T-Mobile retail stores, select national retailers and dealers and online via www.t-mobile.com. The Sony Xperia Z “features a stylish and durable physical design with a 5-inch 1080p HD Reality Display with … [read full article]

Apple Introduces A Completely Redesigned iOS 7 At Developer Conference

Any complaints about iOS being stale and in desparate need of a revamp got their wish today and in some ways, it’s truly Apple and something else entirely. First and foremost is the completley revamped design and I do mean everything…from the fonts, to the color schemes, to the icons themselves, it’s all very different. There’s no question this is a brand new iOS, for better or worse the moment you load this up on your existing device, … [read full article]

HTC One, BlackBerry Q10 Launching Nationwide On Wednesday, June 5th

A bit of good news this morning as word just arrived that T-Mobile is planning to release the HTC One nationwide on June 5th. That’s very welcome news considering the original retail/branded launch took place in just 300 stores as HTC was sorely lacking global inventory. As HTC kicks up production it seems to already be filtering down as T-Mobile will bring the device to all of their retail and branded locations next Wednesday. Along … [read full article]

Why Now Is A Great Time to Be a T-Mobile Customer

A few years ago, T-Mobile was borderline sick. The spectrum crunch was felt in full force by T-Mobile customers around the country. 1,500 milliseconds pings and dropped calls galore peeked their heads at every opportunity. T-Mobile’s smaller customer base accompanied by its use of non-standard frequencies for network operation made it nearly impossible for T-Mobile to garner flagship handsets, further compounding the  “greener pastures” appeal of competitors’ networks. To add insult to injury, T-Mobile had no roadmap … [read full article]

T-Mobile’s LTE Network Speeds Off To Great Start In New TechHive Survey, RootMetrics Report

The combination of T-Mobile’s 4G HSPA+ and LTE networks showed up strong in a new TechHive national survey of the nations four largest networks. T-Mobile’s LTE network is still in its infancy with only seven “confirmed” cities: Baltimore, Houston, Kansas City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Jose and Washington D.C. Of course we’ve already seen plenty of LTE coverage start to light up in cities like New York, Minneapolis, Los Angeles and Detroit, but … [read full article]

Galaxy S4 with Stock Android: Is This The Next Great Tech Superphone?

We had caught wind of a possible Nexus-like Galaxy S4 previously, but we were naturally a little skeptical because good old Sammy wants to capitalize on its products and craft the signature Samsung experience with its own customized skins and software implementations. I personally wished upon a star for it to be true, but had trouble believing it. Until, of course, Google made this dream device a reality yesterday at Google I/O. The Galaxy S4 with … [read full article]

T-Mobile To Be Exclusive US Carrier For Nokia Lumia 925 Windows Phone 8 Smartphone

I guess there was a good reason after all for T-Mobile to remove their current Windows Phone 8 lineup. At an early morning media event in London, Nokia announced the Lumia 925, a Lumia 920 successor of sorts with a “sleek, metal-finished design, new AMOLED display to make it possible to view content from more angles, and new features and advances in our PureView imaging technology for capturing clearer, sharper pictures.” It’s safe to … [read full article]

T-Mobile Increases iPhone 5 Down Payment Price To $149 As Promotional Pricing Ends

Ah T-Mobile, I knew your introductory pricing of $99 down payment wasn’t going to last. As of today, T-Mobile will ask well-qualified customers to drop $149 as their down payment instead of $99 as has been the case since the April 12th launch. I don’t recall anyone or anywhere telling me the $99 price was only good for one month, but in hindsight I should have seen … [read full article]
