We’re working to confirm this on our end but BoyGenius is reporting that the Blackberry 9700 has been pushed back by a week. Originally slated rumored for a November 11th launch, BGR is reporting that we are likely looking at a November 16th launch date. Price is still holding steady at the previously discussed $199 and we’ll update this story if we hear anything different on our side.

While we check off the number of days remaining until the expected November 11th release date, the Bold 9700 just passed the FCC! You’ve already seen some high-detail pics of this 3G-enabled bad boy. The clue that gave this baby away was: that fact that it was tested for WCDMA Band IV a.k.a AWS (T-Mobile USA 3G band). So its safe to say this baby is headed to our very own T-Mobile. If you’re like me, who enjoys looking through the various RF test results, head on over to the FCC site and start reading! Feel free to express your thoughts in the comments!

Hot off the heels of the recent BlackBerry Bold 9700 announcement, here is some more viewing pleasure. If you’re still unsure about whether or not you want this beast of a BlackBerry, maybe some pics will help you decide? All you T-Mobile BlackBerry addicts should get ready for the first 3G-enabled BlackBerry–I know you’ve all been waiting a long time for this. Currently expected for a November 11th release, the Bold 9700 will definitely become a great addition to T-Mobile’s handset lineup. With Android all the rage these days it’s easy to forget that RIM isn’t going quietly into that good night. With that in mind, RIM officially introduces the Blackberry Bold 9700 to the world, forgetting its leaked more times than a dormitory faucet. Expected to hit our magenta on November 11th, T-Mobile has said it would be on its network “in time for the holiday season.” Slashgear however, is reporting that the phone will cost $199.99 on a 2-year contract but T-Mobile did not confirm pricing. The specs come in pretty well in line with what’s been known for some time now:

Well the release of the Blackberry 9700/Onyx at this point is hardly a secret, in fact it’s downright obvious to anyone who reads this site. However, while we’ve been calling for a November 4th/11th launch for well over a month now, BoyGenius recently received his own set of verifiable info confirming the 11th as the launch date. In the grand scheme of things that extra week won’t mean much for Blackberry lovers who have already spent days, weeks and months counting down to go time for a Blackberry 3G. As per usual Blackberry standards we expect this little phone won’t disappoint and will be everything current Blackberry lovers could want. Will it be enough to sway users from another platform? Doubtful. While Blackberry remains one of the most consistent OS’es, they have fallen by the wayside with keeping up on the current standard of browsing and other consumer oriented features. That’s not to say Blackberry isn’t a great device–it is–however it is in a definite need of overhaul. To clarify, when we say overhaul, we mean software, not hardware, as Blackberry hardware remains one of the best QWERTY experiences to date.
Regardless of my little diatribe up there, look for some Blackberry 3G goodness to grace T-Mobile’s shelves one month from now.

While the magenta world will be captivated with Cliq news in the coming days as the “hot new thing,” the Blackberry 9700 is not going quietly. Another video has popped up courtesy of a Blackberry aficionado who clearly has some awesome inside info. Here you will get a peek of the size against the bold, a great look at the whole trackball/trackpad switch over. I have to say, this is one sexy Blackberry! As the first 3G Blackberry for T-mobile, this has the potential to win over many new Blackberry subscribers who otherwise might have stayed away from the slower-than-what-we-truly-want EDGE speeds. While Android is sure to take the limelight with T-mobile this holiday season, Blackberry is ready to make a comeback in a big way with a hot looking phone that can give you the browsing speeds you always wanted. It should be a very interesting holiday season, very interesting indeed!

While this isn’t the first time we’ve gotten wind of a Blackberry codenamed “Driftwood,” our friends at Boygenius are running with two “sources” who are “confirming” this device for T-mobile in September. Hopefully, rumored to be the first 3G Blackberry device, this should hopefully introduce a little more excitement than the Gemini and its lacking feature set. Rumored specs include the much appreciated 3G, 3.2 megapixel camera, wi-fi with UMA, optical trackpad and GPS. While we’re still going to hold this in the rumored category, we hope to be able to use the words, Blackberry, 3G and T-mobile in more sentences in our postings!
