Moto X for T-Mobile drops to $499

So far, the only way to get the Moto X for T-Mobile has been to pay $599.99 and buy it directly from Motorola’s own site. And – although you still have to go through Motorola to get the magenta-flavored version – you now only need to pay $499.99. If you head on over to Motorola.com, you can order either the black or white versions now, for $100 less than the original price. This news comes … [read full article]

Google Voice now supports MMS sent by T-Mobile subscribers

If there’s one service I’ve been intensely jealous of watching the U.S. mobile scene from the UK, it’s Google Voice. And, although Google hasn’t really been paying much attention to it recently, it’s nice to know the service is becoming more useful to more people. However unintuitive the added new features might seem, they are – at least – something. Last week, Google announced that its Voice service would be adding support for MMS. Essentially, users can … [read full article]

With yesterday’s news and encouragements regarding T-Mobile’s continued expansion of its own LTE network in the States and the gradual upgrading to 10+10 and 20+20 networks, it’s a further “cherry on the top” to hear that our favorite magenta colored carrier scored well on latency tests. In LTE, HSPA+ and HSPA tests, it came out on top of every comparison. Using a panel of over 1 million … [read full article]

Take-away from Q3 earnings call: “We’re not done yet”

In my short time here at TmoNews one thing’s become increasingly clear: Many of you are frustrated by the coverage in some areas. Some of those are only a short distance from major metro areas, who get the benefit of the carrier’s fastest available coverage. Incredibly frustrating for you guys, I’m sure. Others – more understandably – are in rural areas of low focus for any carrier. As I’m typing this, T-Mobile’s chiefs are wrapping up the … [read full article]

T-Mobile clears up and reiterates “Free Data For Life” 200MB tablet deal

Yesterday morning it became abundantly clear that consumers had become very confused over the iPad+free data offer on T-Mobile. We attempted to clear it up a little. Essentially, the confusion arose when new customers without pre-existing phone plans on Tmo thought they could walk in to a store, get an iPad on the “zero down” financing offer and get the 200MB free each month without signing up to any other plan. Today, T-Mobile has sought … [read full article]

Clearing up the confusion surrounding iPad Air “zero down” and “200MB free” offers

When the iPad Air pricing was announced last week, on the Apple store website it became clear that taking a cellular model iPad was going to pose a fantastic benefit for customers taking a tablet with a SIM from our favorite magenta carrier. Buying a cellular iPad with a Tmo SIM would give consumers a free 200MB slice of data each month to use with their brand new tablet. But there’s been some confusion. Firstly, some customers … [read full article]
