Coocoo Planet review

If I was to sum up the essence of Coocoo Planet in a phrase, it’d be: the love child of Tamagotchi, Candy Crush and the Sims. It’s an addictive game where you not only have to build worlds, but also care for individual characters. Dubbed Coocoomons, these characters – and their world – are designed to resemble sweet, sugary treats. Upon opening the game up, you’re immediately greeted by a friendly in-game host who guides you through … [read full article]

Earlier on today, reports broke from Japan stating that Deutsche Telekom had accepted a buyout offer from SoftBank for its majority stake in T-Mobile US. Later on, however, another report claims that DT is seeking to retain a minority stake in the … [read full article]

T-Mobile HD Voice tested, compared with AT&T standard call [sound clips]

For years we’ve been making phone calls with sub-quality audio. We’ve done so, because it’s the only option we’ve had. Arguably, some phones have had better clarity than others due to stronger reception, or a better earpiece. But, a key change had to be made, and it’s happening now. HD Voice is the next generation cellular call quality, and by all accounts, it really does make a difference. As noted by PC Mag: “Every major carrier is … [read full article]

Hands on with the LG G3 [video]

As promised, a video showing an overview of the LG G3. I was at the announcement today, and rushed to get my hands on it immediately after the presentation ended. Although the geek in me loves that it has a pixel density over 500ppi, and a laser-guided fancy auto-focus system on the camera, what impressed me most was that they fit such a large (5.5-inch) display in to a relatively small chassis. In hand it felt smaller … [read full article]
