Hands on with the LG G3 [video]

As promised, a video showing an overview of the LG G3. I was at the announcement today, and rushed to get my hands on it immediately after the presentation ended. Although the geek in me loves that it has a pixel density over 500ppi, and a laser-guided fancy auto-focus system on the camera, what impressed me most was that they fit such a large (5.5-inch) display in to a relatively small chassis. In hand it felt smaller and lighter than the HTC One M8 and Z2, both of which has smaller screens.

Look out for release “later this summer”.

    Wow crazy.

Looks VERY nice, but I think I saw the speaker on the back. After having the Note 3, which has the speaker on the bottom and seeing the One with front speakers, I cannot go to a phone with a speaker on the back.

      Agreed 1000%. I have an Xperia Z2; I don’t know how I lived without front-facing speakers.

How is the camera on the z2? I want to upgrade but want the best camera…

        • KlausWillSeeYouNow

Unreal. I chose the Z2 over everything else mainly because of the 20.7 MP camera. The AF is great, and it has some neat effects. But I just don’t think you can beat it – 4K video is pretty impressive, especially if you can shoot it underwater. :-)

Thanks Cam. I’m glad you noted how it feels in hand. If it’s truly more comfortable than the other flagships I’ll definitely be giving it a shot.

Now I’m kinda torn. I’ve been banking on the rumors that the Motorola “Moto X+1” will hit T-mobile, because I really like the form factor of the X. However, after hearing how well this feels in hand, it’s tempting to go with the device with more bells and whistles, which will almost definitely be the G3.

TMOBILE please stock the white color!!

  • Hmmm..that charging area looks like a USB 3.0???????????? If not, it’s a beauty, but will still be a lower. If it in fact does have 3.0, then I can see this phone being better than the S5.

I will be waiting on the Google
    “Silver” (Nexus 6). I
don’t understand why these new “flagship” phones (S5, G3, M8, etc) are only
packing 2 GB of RAM. The Note 3 is
almost a year old and has 3 GB of RAM. I
will be buying my wife a OnePlus One 64 GB and I will be buying a Google Silver
    to replace my Nexus 5.

      The G3 has 3gb of ram….

      • Paul

The 16Gig version has 2Gig RAM, the 32Gig version has 3Gig RAM.

        • Chad Dalton

oh man, well that’s not as exciting. Thanks for the clarification.

        • Paul

Yeah, I found it odd that the 16Gig one only has 2Gig RAM. I’m stumped as to WHY they would do that. I think they are going to learn not to do that.

Dunno…Cam could you please do a video review of the Oppo Find 7 please? Now there is a phone worth getting :)

    next phone for sure
