The MyTouch3G “Slide” aka HTC Espresso has gotten its fair share of blog love lately and this time, we’re getting some damn good pictures. Mr. Blurrycam, wherever you are, this is how it’s done. Pictured here is the MyTouch Slide phone albeit a definite prototype sent over by my boys at Droiddeveloper who apparently have a super ninja on the payroll. Let me first say, I’m a bit unimpressed, when I conjured up the idea of a MyTouch Slide, originally discussed as a Sidekick replacement, I had the impression/hope of a phone that didn’t look like every other sliding QWERTY phone. That being said, the keyboard looks like quite spacious and noticeably drops the trackball for a Blackberry-like trackpad that doubles as a push button. Got some word on specs as well:
1300mAHr Battery * MicroSD memory cardslot is accessible without battery removal. It is a push to insert and push to remove design. * Optical trackpad with an integrated push button. * Camera with LED flash. * 3.5 mm Headset Jack * Slide-out 4 row QWERTY keyboard * 320×48o screen resolution. * ARM11 processor
One more shot after the jump! Look for this to drop Mid-May, the 17th to be a little more exact, in Black, Red and White. Thoughts?!

Warning: This article may cause Sidekick fans to cry, beg, kick and show other signs of emotional distress.
According to BoyGenius, the myTouch Slide will end all Sidekick sales. The new tipster informed BGR that the upcoming T-Mobile myTouch Slide, will cause Magenta to slowly phase out all Sidekick sales. It is still unclear what this means. Is T-Mobile getting rid of the Sidekick line permanently? As you probably already know, the Sidekick device has become very popular with the deaf community, and by discontinuing the Sidekick device T-Mobile could lose a good amount of loyal subscribers. Of course keeping in mind that we don’t experience another one of those massive Sidekick Outages. Until we have further confirmation, please take this as a grain of salt.
What do you guys think, should T-Mobile get rid of the Sidekick line? Would anyone actually miss it?

Update: As it turns out, these are from a live eBay auction so if you really want to own this device 3 weeks early, hit the link!
Well perhaps its just 5:30 in the morning and I’m not quite sure what’s going on but the overnight was good enough to grace me with purported images of the MyTouch V1.2. Looking almost exactly like the old one (as expected) the only noticeable addition here is the placement of the 3.5 mm headset jack on the top just like the Fender LE edition. That’s really about it as the second image of just the back shows no distinguishable markings that separate it from the looks of original MyTouch3G. Actually we take that back, like the Fender LE, it’s possible this MyTouch also has the reported additional on board ram for some extra juice and multitasking horsepower. So if you’ve been holding off for this long on buying the MyTouch3G because of a lack of a 3.5 mm handset, your prayers have been answered.
Really, while the addition of a 3.5 mm headset jack is nice, it’s what should have been from the onset of the device itself so let’s talk when you add a Qwerty keyboard to the device, mmmkay?
The shot of the back of the phone follows the jump!

While we’re focused on getting Mr. Blurrycam in the wild to hunt down an image of the MyTouch Slide aka Espresso, other angles are showing off proof of existence. According to the boys at Androidcentral, HTC has a user-string (identifies browsers to website’s on “which they’re calling”)live and in living color. Showing off a Qwerty Keyboard and a Model called “Magic,” being of course the name for the MyTouch for our neighbors to the North. So conspiracy theorists unite and say that a Qwerty Magic would easily be the American MyTouch Slide. Sadly the only spec we see here is 320X480 screen size. Hopefully more details will break soon!

So here we go, the rumors and the leaks regarding new phones just keep on cranking from TmoNews. We’ve been uncovering quite a bit in the past few days and we’re ready to again confirm some dates and add some new ones. Regarding that MyTouch “Slide” we’ve been discussing, look likes its dropping 5/17 in any color you want, so long as its black, red and white. That Motorola Android phone we’ve been hearing about for March 10th? Looks like it goes under another nickname, Zeppelin. Remember that from the leaked Motorola Android Roadmap that broke this past October? Regarding that HTC HD2 so many of you have been asking for the drop date on, once again a March date looks good to go. Still fighting for its market share, Nokia looks to drop at least one new device on the big Magenta. Back in early November, the FCC gave some hints toward the Nokia 5230 complete with AWS bands, expect that on March 17th as well. That Garmin aka “Columbus” phone we hinted to last week? Looking to drop May 5th. Something from HTC is dropping on February 10th and we’re still of the mind it’s the MyTouch 1.2, or the regular MyTouch with a 3.5 mm handset jack. Comes in Black and White.
Here is the real kicker though, our ninja who is definitely on our trusted tipster list says that at the end of March, expect something from Dell. Now here is the real mind game, he said it doesn’t look as though it’s a Dell phone, but something else. Can we finally be seeing T-Mobile jumping into the Netbook game? This is something we are DEFINTELY keeping an eye on!

Good afternoon TmoNews minions readers! There has been a lot going on in Magenta’s world in the past few weeks, and it looks like the news just keeps on coming. Yesterday we received quite a few emails from our sources stating that a new Android device was in the works, codenamed the MyTouch Slide/MyTouch 2. Our sources pegged the device for a May 17th release. Today another one of our trusty ninjas has hit us up claiming that T-Mobile has more up its sleeve. T-Mobile is rumored to be releasing another Motorola Android device (Sholes Tablet?) on March 10th. Our source also claims that on March 17th, T-Mobile will be releasing a Nokia Smartphone (N900 anyone?). Sony Ericsson lovers if the original Equinox color didn’t appeal to you, you can pick up the Equinox January 20th in the shade of Ocean Blue. Our sources are also stating that the Samsung T139 will be hitting the shelves February 3rd. Hooray! First in line for this one!
As always all these dates are super tentative and subject to change.
Stay tuned and leave your thoughts and hopes in the comments!

So these tips have been coming in slow and steady for the last 24 hours or so. Apparently, T-Mobile has “announced” three “hot” handsets coming up for release in the first/second quarter. The first we know as the HTC HD2, so no surprises there. The second is a GPS device made by Garmin, which fits nicely in line with the leak from last week showing off an FCC report for a Garmin device with AWS bands. The third handset is the more mysterious of the two unknowns here, the MyTouch2, codenamed “Espresso” which will according to one source, “have a sidekick type keyboard.” Another email called it the MyTouch “Slide” so now we have two possibilities. The sidekick keyboard concept isn’t exactly a bad thing, in fact in some cases it could be awesome and I’ll admit my mind is racing with design possibilities.
These are of course tentative dates and very tentative at that. The HTC HD2 will come out in Spring as previously rumored with The Garmin “Fone” dropping sometime in early May. As for the MyTouch “Slide,” current word has that pegged for May 17th. Of course, all these dates are super tentative and subject to change.
