T-Mobile Says ‘No Thanks’ To Family Shared Data Plans

As Verizon ramped up their own planned shared data plans earlier this week, T-Mobile’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, Andrew Sherrard has taken to T-Mobile’s own blog to lay down the company’s position on shared family data plans. According to Sherrard’s posting, we shouldn’t expect to see shared family data plans on T-Mobile anytime soon and that’s just fine with me. It’s an interesting position and yet, Sherrard brings up some key points … [read full article]

Editorial: I Still Think Throttling Data Sucks, There I said It

I’ve long thought T-Mobile’s loose definition of “unlimited data” has needed to change and now, with AT&T at the center of a throttling data news cycle, “unlimited” is once again called into question. In fact, one AT&T user successfully sued AT&T in small claims court winning $850 after the judge agreed AT&T had sold the customer an unlimited plan and then purposely slowed him down. AT&T has justified throttling by claiming it … [read full article]

Opinion: Why T-Mobile’s “Unlimited Data” Plan Is A Play On Words

I’ve begun a number of my previous editorials with words like “staunch defender, supporter and biggest fan” when it comes to T-Mobile and their corporate decisions. I’ve used those words or something similar in an effort to show that what’s coming up is born out of love and frustration. A storm has been brewing in my eyes as of late with T-Mobile’s recent campaign on “unlimited” data. … [read full article]
