Reports are coming in of a possible T-Mobile outage. One of our connects filled us in with the details and it looks like subscribers in the Southeastern region are mostly affected. If you can recall, the last time T-Mobile had one of these outages, both Data/Calling features were down. Most of the reports we have received include a mix of both data and calling features being affected. Could this possibly have something to do with the HSPA 7.2Mbps upgrade that T-Mobile will be rolling out before the end of this year?!? I sure hope so!

UPDATE 1: T-Mobile is aware of the situation and has their “Rapid Response Teams” working on the problem. They have identified the problem as an “Equipment Malfunction”…HSPA 7.2Mbps anyone? Service has been restored to the majority of subscribers, with the exception of some customers in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia which may still be experiencing service disruptions.

Some T-Mobile customers in the Southeastern United States and Puerto Rico experienced intermittent service degradation for voice and data services earlier today. T-Mobile has identified the equipment malfunction and service has been restored for the majority of customers. Some customers in Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia may still be experiencing service disruptions while T-Mobile continues to work to restore service as quickly as possible. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience to impacted customers in the region.

So, I’m a Florida-based subscriber in Chicago, IL. My family and friends (including people on my own plan) are unable to send or receive texts or calls. My husband (also a Florida-based number on my plan) is having no trouble whatsoever calling my phone or texting, however, when I try to call him, it says his phone is busy. I’m not having any trouble calling or texting people on other networks or in the Chicago area.

Service outage (per my call just now to TMobile is out from Dallas/Memphis eastward and Nashville TN to Jacksonville FL. TMobile acknowledged problem at 3PM CST this afternoon and have no idea what the problem is and have no ETA for repair and restoration. CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is our primary and ONLY phone.

Voice/SMS down in Starkville, MS. GPRS is still running strong. Network busy errors on calls tho. Interesting enough the switch still routes my @Home phone out and can place calls, but calls in get the same subscriber not in service as the cells. So at least it is working halfway.

I’m in Birmingham, AL and my BB 9700 shows full 3G but no Voice, text and email service since about 3 central. I can use the browser with 3G though.

I do know how important your service is and we and certainly working on fixing this issue as soon as possible. At the moment we do not have any estimated time of resolution for this issue. Been out since about 3PM here in Birmingham, AL. I have a Curve 8320, and can receive IM’s, emails (work and Gmail). I can receive texts but I can’t send them, and I am not receiving any calls, neither can I dial out. I still have a land line, but my mother, who lives alone, does not. This is a serious inconvenience.
