T-Mobile launches nationwide Narrowband IoT network

One year after completing its first live network tests of Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) technology, T-Mobile has announced another major IoT milestone. T-Mo today launched its NB-IoT service nationwide. NB-IoT is a low power, wide area network LTE-Advanced tech that offers benefits like low power usage, long battery life, and low device cost. T-Mobile launched its NB-IoT in guard bands on its network so that it can best utilize its spectrum and so that … [read full article]

T-Mobile completes first Narrowband IoT test in guard bands

One month after launching its first Narrowband Internet of Things (NB-IoT) plan, T-Mobile has reached two more NB-IoT milestones. First, T-Mobile CTO Neville Ray has confirmed that T-Mo was first to test Narrowband Internet of Things in guard bands. The reason that you’d want to use NB-IoT in guard bands is so that the traffic doesn’t compete with customers’ data on the network, keeping speeds for users as fast as they can be. Ray also … [read full article]

T-Mobile launches first Narrowband IoT plan

T-Mobile has placed a heavy focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) over the past year or so, and that push continues today. T-Mobile today revealed a narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) plan. For a limited time, the plan is priced at $6 per year up to 12MB per connected device. Customers can renew after 12 months or 12MB. Last October, T-Mo launched its NB-IoT network, and the tech should be available nationwide by mid-2018. NB-IoT … [read full article]

T-Mobile reveals plans for nationwide Narrowband-IoT network by 2018, also intros SyncUp Fleet

T-Mobile completes Narrowband IoT tests, partners with Las Vegas for IoT projects

After opening T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas last year, T-Mo today announced that it’s making another move in that city. T-Mobile is partnering with the City of Las Vegas to deploy Internet of Things (IoT) in the city. This comes following T-Mobile’s successful Narrowband IoT field tests on a live commercial network, something that T-Mobile says it’s the first carrier in North America to have done. These Narrowband IoT tests, which were conducted in partnership … [read full article]
