T-Mobile packaging for Alcatel Idol 4S with Windows 10 shown in leaked photo

Leaks and rumors have suggested that Alcatel’s Idol 4 Pro is coming to T-Mobile to expand T-Mo’s Windows 10 Mobile lineup. There’s still be no official word from T-Mobile or Alcatel about the device, but today a new leak has arrived that supports the rumors of an Idol 4 Pro release on T-Mo.

A new photo claims to show T-Mobile’s box for the Alcatel Idol 4 Pro. The image, shared by WinFuture.de’s Roland Quandt, shows packaging with T-Mobile’s logo and the name “Idol 4S with Windows 10.” The box also shows that a virtual reality headset is included with the Idol 4S with Windows 10.

Past rumors have suggested that the Idol 4 Pro/Idol 4S will have a spec list that includes a 5.5-inch 1920×1080 display, Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 21-megapixel rear camera, and a 3,000mAh battery.

Unfortunately for Windows fans on T-Mobile, there’s still no word on when the Idol 4 Pro/Idol 4S with Windows 10 will launch on T-Mo or how much it’ll cost when it does.

There hasn’t been much in the way of Windows 10 Mobile news on T-Mobile ever since the Fierce XL’s launch back in February. That could change soon thanks to this Idol 4 Pro/Idol 4S, though, which would offer a nice high-end companion to the affordable Fierce XL. Now we just have to wait for an official announcement from Alcatel and T-Mo.

Thanks, Jeff!

On the same day Hilton announced no more WP support for their app.

You realize that alot of the companies that have announced dropping support for WP are coming back with UWP specifically for Windows 10 that will work on all platforms. Desktop, Tablets and Mobile. Amazon did it, eBay is going to do is as well as others. When they say they are dropping support, it does not mean entirely in all instances.

      • Acdc1a

Not in this or most other instances. See all of the banks, airlines, and Amtrak. When the platform has 1% market share, developers don’t develop.

        • JOHN P

Well, we’ll wait and see what transpires down the road.

There’s an upside to all of this. Hackers and malware writers don’t bother with it either. They mainly go after Android which has proven vulnerabilities even after they upgraded to encrypt the OS. Blackberry is almost dead so we’re left with IOS to feel safe.

        • dudefromcali

As for iOS are you seriously saying that it’s safe from any vulnerabilities? LOL. Nice try at trolling but every platform is NOT 100% safe.

Almost added that caveat to appease all the nitpickers but neglected to say it. Nothing in this world is absolutely safe but thanks for reminding us.

I literally just bought an idol 3 5.5″ last week because my lumia 1020 was being very inconsistent with sending/receiving text messages. I miss windows phone, but the idol 3 is very nice feeling and seems snappy with good battery life (well anything would compared to my 3 year old 1020). If this is true, I very well might come running back to Windows. If I’m being fully honest though, I’d be just as happy if I could get wp8.1 on this idol 3 but I know that would never happen.

Ship is sinking, and they just added more weight to it.

Welp, I think I found my next phone.

  • noh1bvisas

i didn’t even realize they were still making windows phones.

Those are really good specs. I’ll definitely get this if it’s reasonably priced. Good to see HP and Alcatel launching true flagship Windows phones and marketing them in standout ways. For a while Windows was only getting cheap low end phones from OEMs. Now it seems like Windows is only getting high end phones.

  • I hope this phone is water resistant. It won’t be a deal breaker by any stretch of the imagination, though.

  • cybersaurusrex

I’m surprised Microsoft can convince anyone to make Windows Phone hardware after they’ve all but abandoned the platform themselves.

I sure hope this phone succeeds. I love my Lumia 640 and it is 1.5 years old. In another 6 months i’ll be in the market and I hope this phone lives up to the hype! I have always been a budget phone buyer, hence the Lumia 640 I have, but I know good Windows Phones are becoming harder to find, so I may need to shell out and get this in time.

Looks great – for the first time ive been using an iphone 7 128GB since launch date and felt like I was going back to 2007…
I’ll pick one of these up for sure.

  • Ordeith

Seems like this phone is taking forever to come out.
    Ice Bear is impatient.

    • drago10029

yup, I remember it was announced and shown off in January. I have a hunch that the phone was ready a long time ago, it seems Alcatel has been busy trying to make a bunch of deals with people for their new phone (t-mobile and blackberry)
