T-Mobile Roadmap Highlights Sony Xperia Z, Lumia 925 Release Date, July 14th “Major Release”

Screen_Shot_2013-06-26_at_5.12.44_PM-2

The day has finally arrived, well not the release date itself but the day we can tell you the release dates for the upcoming Xperia Z and Lumia 925. Along with that is the unknown T-Mobile 768 which is almost assuredly a prepaid device backed by Huawei, ZTE or some other manufacturer that releases under T-Mobile branding. As with all leaks, dates are subject to change but this looks pretty solid for all three handsets.

Not to be ignored is the July 14th “Major EIT Release” which is widely speculated to be the launch of T-Mobile’s UNcarrier Phase 2 plan. I’m still not clear if Phase 2 extends beyond the ‘Simple Choice with No Credit Check’ plan but until we know more, I’d speculate that’s the “Major Release” planned for July 14th.

As for pricing on the Lumia 925, I’m told that the device will sell for $99.99 down for well qualified customers. Total release price is $579, with 24 monthly payments of $20 each. No word on pricing for the Xperia Z at the time of this writing. Even without Sony pricing, release date for both high-profile launch on T-Mobile is better than nothing and we’ll take both devices with open arms, unknown and unconfirmed pricing and all.

Dark topic, huh? I’m guessing it’s more than plans with no credit checks. Major LTE announcement maybe?

    • Paddy_Tanninger_Caddy_Manager

likely announcing successful LTE implementation in May and June.

  • Verizonthunder

This is awesome now i just hope T-Mobile will get the Sony Xperia Z Ultra… Any hope for that happening Pantherlady (Moderator)?

    • randomnerd_number38

Well we’re getting the Xperia Z, so I’d wager there’s a better chance than other carriers.

      • Verizonthunder

Yes and that is awesome new’s I will be playing with the Sony Xperia Z

        • thepanttherlady

I love mine and haven’t regretted it once.

    • thepanttherlady

I’m not sure on the Ultra, David has far more sources than I ever will. I just have mad Google/Bing skills. LOL

While I find the XZ Ultra interesting, I personally, think 6.4″ is way too big for a phone. I’d like to see the Honami hit our beloved Magenta though.

      • Verizonthunder

I love Sony Cell phone’s and envy of their Smartphone’s. I love a phablet smartphone and Sony make’s dam good smartphone’s and the Sony Xperia Z Ultra is waterproof

        • Testify_lal

water “proof” is a myth. water resistant is technically more accurate and much more believable

      • Verizonthunder

        Cross my finger’s

      • Paddy_Tanninger_Caddy_Manager

it depends on what you think “too big is”. I love the size of my GN2

        • thepanttherlady

I loved the size of the GN2 as well but that’s what, 5.5″?

I say it’s too big now but I swore I wouldn’t buy the Nexus 4 but did while I was waiting for my XZ so I won’t say I’ll never get this phone. Who knows what I’ll feel like tomorrow. :)

        • Paddy_Tanninger_Caddy_Manager

          I always thought size doesn’t matter anyways…apparently it does. = P

        • thepanttherlady

          =P

There should be a rule around here that you guys can’t mess with me until I’ve had sufficient caffeine in my system. At 8:19 a.m., the caffeine level isn’t sufficient yet. LOL

        • Paddy_Tanninger_Caddy_Manager

to be honest, I sort of baited you to talk about phone size…i already knew what you were going to say = P

  • nfjpolyr6

i am looking forward that Sony Xperia Z Ultra is landing T-mobile!

  • BlackJu

FINALLY! The 925 will be mine, hopefully in a 32 GB version.

    • ex_nokia_exec

I’d love for a 32 gig 925, if it’s that I’ll hold off on buying the HTC ONE

    • IamDefiler

At that price it should be.

  • aussiedog61

I am looking forward to finally getting the Nokia 925. My HD7 with 7.8 has served me well, but it’s time to let her have a well deserved rest.

    • Whiskers

Atleast you have 7.8 on your HD7.
I can’t even get mine to update to 7.8
I may get the 925 myself or hold out to see if HTC will offer a new WP like the ONE with front spacing speakers.
That would be one awesome WP8 if they did that.

  • Kevin Wendland

Does anyone have a clue if the Galaxy Mega 6.3 is coming to T-Mobile?

    • Kevin Wendland

I have a feeling that if the Z Ultra comes to Tmobile then there is no chance of the Mega landing.

    • Paddy_Tanninger_Caddy_Manager

before Note 3 comes out, or they’re stupid for releasing it at all

      • Kevin Wendland

I don’t know. I see the Mega as a midrange phone. I have a Note 10.1, so I don’t need the s-pen, but I would like a big screen phone. The Mega gives me that, big screen, solid performance, for much less than Note 3.

But I agree, you would think it would come before the Note 3.

        • Paddy_Tanninger_Caddy_Manager

i just mean, at that point, they should spend a bit more time and money and update the Mega to the Note 3 specs, now THAT is a newsworthy product release.

  • kev2684

i really hope T-Mobile carry the Xperia Z Ultra and not be 6 months after it was announced.

  • efjay

The 925 is priced to fail. A pentaband Rogers 920 from eBay costs far less. Ridiculous pricing.

    • CJ

I agree! That is just crazy! Isn’t the Iphone $579

      • Wyn6

        IPhone is $629.99.

        • Pikachu

Actually that’s price with eligible plan, the device only non upgrade and non new service is 659.99

      • LinkArt

this is better than the Ipod phone

  • ex_nokia_exec

Any chance Nokia gets the 32 gig version?

I wouldn’t mind holding out until then to get the 32 gig version.

  • marbo100

I want to know when T-mobile will get new tablets in. Even though I’m due for an upgrade, there’s no reason for me to do so until they have LTE/HSPA+ tablets available. Preferably a 7″ or 8″ model with a premium display and microSD expansion.

  • Fish

Yay finally the 925! That’s gonna be my next phone. I’m gonna give my 521 to my mother. I hope they have the black one!

  • WPiOSandroidUser

This is great news. My friend loves Windows Phone after having tried the Lumia 900. He can’t wait to purchase the Lumia 925. Lumia 925 has one of the best cameras out there, especially in low light and video recording with Optical Image Stabilization, a screen that is able to see in direct sunlight with ease, and able to record audio with distortion free.

  • Jay J. Blanco

    Great!

  • fort

    Where is the Moto X?

  • colonelcasey

Finally some news on the 925. I wonder what it will sell for on-contract at third-party retailers. They new plans don’t make sense for what I need so I’m hoping to renew my grandfathered Classic plan and upgrade to the 925.

  • sidekicker89

When are they going to launch more LTE cities!? :)

  • http://josedmorales.net/ Joe

Finally some news on the 925! I just hope it’s the 32 GB version. Crossing my fingers already.

    • Oscar Alvarado

I’m with you! The 925 just looks so sleek and then the camera! One of the few devices that has me excited for Windows phone.

  • Rand0m3

I will buy this on DAY ONE if it has 32GB. if it has 16 then I’ll have to take a pass. I have an 8x I got a few weeks back and it didn’t take long to fill the “16″ it had just with music and a couple of apps (less stuff than was on my HD7 oddly enough) so I need more space it seems.

  • Hudi G.

    Fingers Crossed for the 925 to have 32GB!!! 32GB!!! 32GB!!! 32GB!!! 32GB!!! 32GB!!!

Hey John Legere hope your reading this and get the point, just look at all these comments hoping for a 32 GB version.

    • hieuman

We’re all hoping that it’s the 32GB version, but everything so far has indicated it’ll be 16GB :|

…Which would be incredibly lame if they kept that on one market in Europe.

  • sahib102 .

YAY!! that’s some good news :) more windows phone! but as much as this is good news ……. I hope they support this phone, I mean sure that have launched windows phone on tmo but most of the time they don’t get supported like not updating the windows 7 to windows 7.8 and the nokia lumia 810 :/ . I hope they do on this phone so the peeps who buy this phone will be happy I don’t want them to end up hatting windows phone and T-mobile :/ and in turn means less customers and means less money …anyways I digress ….. hurray for the 925 coming on T-mobile ! :)

    • LinkArt

Agreed. T-mobile support = no support at all. Have Lumia 710 still running WP 7.5.
But, can’t wait for this beauty

    • Ordeith

My family is seriously considering defecting to AT&T in 2014. T-Mobile has one more chance to support us, but if the 925 goes the way of the 810 we’re out.

  • Anonymouse

with all the LTE sightings nationwide, is there a chance of an LTE mega-launch on that day? been seeing a lot lately on my trips to San Antone and Austin and now here in LA.

  • Alex Zapata

Finally! The wait for my 925 is coming to an end!

    • Ordeith

Better late than never I guess.
But releasing the “old phone” right after the EOS announcement is a little odd.
      T-Mobile moves so slowly sometimes.
