T-Mobile’s 2011 Roadmap Leaks With Blackberry, Tablets And Android Galore

Tip of the hat to the boys at This is my next as they just scored what they believe is a 2011 device lineup for T-Mobile. I guess the Samsung Hercules was just the tip of the iceberg for them today as they’ve uncovered some of the blanks we’ve been searching for ourselves through the end of 2011. We’re going to follow their lead and do a month by month breakdown so let’s get to it!

June: Sensation 4G, T499 Tass T379 Triumph

  • We’ve already been able to nail down the June 8th release of the HTC Sensation 4G, Samsung Exhibit 4G and Samsung Gravity Touch 2 or GT2. We’re also expecting T-Mobile’s first 42Mbps HSPA+ mobile hotspot properly known as the Huawei E587 but better known by its codename “Wayne.”
  • One week later on June 15th comes the arrival of the Samsung T499 “Tass,” which is possibly the long rumored Galaxy S Mini possibly arriving as the Galaxy Suit. June 29th brings yet another low end arrival in the Samsung T379 “Triumph” which is likely billed at the Gravity 4. Expectations for the Gravity 4 are low as it’s billed as a refreshed version of the Gravity 3.

July: myTouch 4G Slide, Marvel and Monza

  • The HTC Doubleshot is hardly a secret codename around TmoNews or as it will properly be known: the myTouch 4G Slide. The expectation is the myTouch 4G Slide will launch July 6th as expected. Then we have the HTC Marvel which we’ve previously discussed as the T-Mobile branded Wildfire S. This will be a mid-range device with a 3.2″ display and an 800MHz processor.
  • The Blackberry “Monza” which we’ve previously target for a June 29th date has slipped a month and is now expected to hit store shelves July 29th. This is the long expected full touchscreen Blackberry with an HSPA+ radio of 14.4Mbps, 3.7″ 480 x 800 display, 1.2GHz single-core Snapdragon processor, 5 megapixel camera with 720p video capture and Blackberry 7. Expect to see this one arrive under $200 on contract.

August: Bold Touch, Apollo and Huawei S7

  • August is the month Blackberry activists have long waited for with the launch of the Bold 9900 Touch on August 17th. The “Apollo,” previously known as the next generation Blackberry Curve will arrive August 31st.
  • Huawei is looking to enter the T-Mobile tablet space this August with the arrival of the Huawei S7, an Android WiFi  powered tablet which will be found at your local Best Buy. Coming in a WiFi trim only at Best Buy the T-Mobile branded version will feature an HSPA+ radio.

September: Hercules, Flip II and Nuron 4G

  • The greek demigod Samsung Hercules arrives just in time for an end of September launch on September 26th.
  • Arriving a little earlier in September comes the LG “Flip II” on the 14th which we really don’t know anything else about. Thisismynext suggests a possible replacement for the LG dLite but other than that we’re drawing a blank.
  • Nokia fans T-Mobile hasn’t forgotten about yo with the arrival of the Nokia “Panda” on September 21st. The Nokia “Panda” which if you can really believe is the retail name of the Nokia Nuron 4G. The Panda will launch under $150 with 14.4 HSPA+, 3.2″ 360 x 640 display, 5 megapixel camera, WiFi and Symbian 3.1.

October and beyond:

  • LG has two more devices called the Maxx and Maxx Q with the latter being described as the QWERTY keyboard version. Both phones are expected to launch November 2nd but beyond the names we’re not sure on any other details.
  • The Huawei U2805 is a likely HSPA+ capable phone, possibly a Comet replacement.
  • The Samsung “Jamong” is a simple flip with a 1.3 megapixel camera and 3G! This one is a possible prepay exclusive.
  • The Samsung “Dumont” is one to keep an eye on though we don’t know anything about it.
  • The LG “Gelato” is the successor the Optimus T as the Optimus II. That’s a guess based on the notion that 2011 will be too soon to look for G2x replacement.
  • HTC’s got two phones in here to keep an eye on, the “Bresson” and the “G-Infinity.” Thisismynext suggests the G-Infinity could be the next model for the T-Mobile G-Series of devices that currently serves the G2 and G2x. The Unfortunately we don’t know much about any of these devices but again, names to watch out for.

     No Galaxy S 2 :(

    • http://profiles.google.com/peacock73 Anthony Peacock

A lesser man might make a joke about 4.27 inches being a stretch for you *wink wink nudge nudge*. I am not a lesser man :).

The device translates to about 3/4 of an inch (stupid non metric system) longer and about 1/8th of an inch wider. Your best bet is to print the two boxes out and see how they feel in the hand. For me its not a big deal. Big hands I guess.

The sticker here is the Sept release date. While I still feel the phone will be fine tech wise – my current handset may not have that long left in it.

      • Respawn

Ah damn it. I’ll be the lesser man…..but first I have to figure out why something called “Hercules” is so small.

Way to use a name to compensate for the lack of hardware….

        • Anonymous

Just interested. Why do you think it lacks hardware?

        • Aerofanbig

           1.2 dual core now lacks?

Doesn’t look like any of those might be Samsung Galaxy S II. Too bad, I really want it.

  • Volv02

    This may need a correction…
“The Blackberry “Monza” which we’ve previously target for a June 29th date has slipped a month and is now expected to hit store shelves June 29th.”

I’m still gone rock with my G2x for a good year or more, but kudos to T-Mobile for having a kick butt year & rolling out this exceptional device’s for every single type of consumer base.

  • EeriePhenomenon

hate to be “that guy” but, no iPhone?!

    • http://tmonews.com David

That phone would never ever be on a roadmap like this. Never ever, Apple would not allow something like that to be on this. It wasn’t on any Verizon roadmap that covered the February timeframe either.

    • michael

I agree…I dont like the iphone, but, no iPhone!? Maybe it will be like the iphone to VZW…sprint could get it first and we could follow in 2012

      • http://tmonews.com David

Seriously, the iPhone would NEVER be on a roadmap like this. End of story.

    • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_6BZWRJOKVCUIZWHMEWABAUBLHQ gfam

Who truly cares? No matter what, T-Mobile wants to sell out it’s US customers regardless of whether the AT&T deal goes through or not. So, iPhone fanboys (and girls) will get their chance soon enough to own one. Still can’t understand why people are so crazy about the iPhone. I know it’s a fad, but some (sadly) just want to fit in, lol! Android rulz the stupid AT&T and Verizon limited iPhone!

    Woohoo, come on July 6th!!!

  • Bimmerz

Definitely some phones missing from the list, the most notable one’s are; SGS2 (which I think either T-Mo went with the Hercules instead, or it’s T-Mo’s version of the SGS2). No mention of the iPhone 4S or the Nexus 3. Although, I wouldn’t rule out the Nexus 3, only because T-Mo didn’t sell the NS – Best Buy did.

Nonetheless, good to see T-Mo carrying on business as usual…  =o)

    • http://tmonews.com David

Agreed, I’m beginning to think that as well. While I know T-Mobile was testing the GS2 its looking like it was shelved for the Hercules.

      • stang

I’ve been for the gs2 for a while, I even returned the g2x to wait. September seems like a long time for tmobile to get the gs2. Hopefully they do get the gs2 that phone looks awesome.

        • Dave

I’m waiting for it too. Cant wait. Hopefully we still have unlimited data

  • Rawr4dj

wow thats is a damn good leak

    • http://tmonews.com David

Indeed, though we did have the first part pretty well locked down!

  • Hurlamania

Dont see the nokia n9 in there…

    • Thad

Surley there are a bunch of phones that will be released that aren’t on the roadmap. N9, GSII, Iphone?, Nexus 3, possibly more.

The LG “Gelato”  sounds like a nexus device (Nexus 3). Gelato = Ice Cream Sandwich?

    • alex

yeah but sounds more like, gelatina=gelatin so who knows you could be right though

      • michael

you know what gelato is right?

        • Anonymous

          italian ice cream

  • Ramiro

no optimus 3d??? =( that’s it! Im switching over to AT&T!

    • Anonymous

like we have choice on that ?

    • 19fonzy

Att has the crappiest selection of android phones

    • Anonymous

I’m willing to bet its the LG Maxx slated for october and beyond

  • http://twitter.com/whfsdude Will

Interesting that there is no Nexus device in there. Also no iPhone.

    • Aerofanbig

That is because Nexus phones are released by Google and just happen to sometimes run on T-Mobile, it is not a T-mobile phone.

    • Zifnab2k

Agreed with Aerofanbig, plus they tend to roll out nexus phones at the first of the year (with the exception of the Nexus S 4g), so it might not actually come out until January 2012.

  • Anonymous

no 3d phones=crap. i know the doubleshot is “RUMORED” to potentially be 3d, but sprint getting evo 3d, att getting optimus 3d and also now the htc holiday (another htc 3d phone) , and i’m sure verizon will get something too, tmobile needs to get a 3d phone so my woman will stop bugging me about it and wanting to switch over to other carriers. i’m keeping her happy by getting her a flower case for her mt4g but that won’t last long lol.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1050473725 Franklin Cepeda

i have to wait onto August for the BB TOuch -___-.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Miguel-Richiez/644312171 Miguel Richiez

WOW. All the people crying about the Galaxy S 2 not coming to TMO are probably the same people that said that they “would never buy another Samsung again”, or “I’ve never bought a Samsung phone and never will”. Suddenly the world is going mad about the Galaxy S 2 and EVERYONE wants to jump ship. LOL. I myself have never owned a Samsung phone and wanted the GS2 but i’m willing to wait for the Hercules since i just got a G2x anyway. The Hercules has a bigger screen the the GS2 and twice the theoretical Hspa+ speeds of the aswell. Its safe to say that THIS YEAR I WILL HAPPILY OWN A SAMSUNG. :-P

    • Anonymous

i was never a fan of sammy, but when my hd2 broke i got the gs4g. lemme tell you when people say there isn’t a diff between 4.3 inch and 4 inch, they are full of crap! its huge. its a nice phone though, but again no customization for roms yet, like with htc products. no camera flash really sucks too. that was my main flashlight lol.  if hercules has a flash, its gonna be the most insane phone! can’t wait for it to come out!

  • Anonymous

I see no galaxy sII :(

  • Anonymous

I’m loving how T-Mobile is pushing out these high-end monsters, more than before. I HOPE this AT&T acquisition doesn’t go through, though I’m betting it will. Im gonna keep my eye on the HTC Bresson & G-Infinity. Hopefully they’re part of the “G-series” phones. I want the Sensation 4G badly, but i don’t really want to deal with HTC Sense. Or i can wait on the Nexus 3.

Lets not forget the infamous iPhone on T-Mobile rumor. The phone HAS been seen running on the network.

    • Anonymous

i wasn’t a fan of sense 3.0, but i installed the leaked sensation rom with sense 3.0 on mt4g and its really sweet. stock android has been awesome but i’m taking the turn for the sense side the more i mess with 3.0.  so don’t fear sense! lol

      • http://www.facebook.com/casey.her1 Casey Her

same here, although technically im using sense 2.1 with 3.0 goodies on it. but it is pretty damn smooth running, and very good on the eyes. and battery life is suprising. im still lookin forward to that damn hercules phone though.

  • http://twitter.com/sulu600 Steve Park

I wanted to compare the Samsung and HTC dual-core side by side, but if I have to wait until September to do that, then I will probably go with the dual-core iPhone 4S(5) due out about then with TMO bands.  Upgrade eligible in June, contract expires in August.  Looks like eBay for a phone til then.

  • Joy2dawrld2

No Samsung galaxy S2 on the list???

  • Anonymous

    Hercules wasn’t a Greek God… just saying

    • http://profiles.google.com/aantoine87 akil antoine

he was a Greek Demi-God lol

      • Scrivener Of Olympus

Actually, Hercules was a Roman Demi-God.  The Greek original was Heracles.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1586820069 steadymobb

Such a bummer there’s no GSII on this list…
I returned my G2x to specifically wait for it! How can TMO not get it when the Vibrant was the top selling sur brand of the original Galaxy on any carrier!

what am I supposed to do now :( Guess I’ll be sticking with the Bold till the new Nexus or G-series comes out…such a long wait

    • Zifnab2k

Sucks, but good call on returning the g2x. Horrible Quality Control on that P.O.S.

  • Anonymous

End of September for Samsung Hercules and no SGS2. Maybe it has something to do with Samsung’s recent postponement (they just said it was postponed until a later date) of their NYC event originally scheduled for May 24th. I was ready to snag one in June but if nothing is coming until the end of September then I may not upgrade at all until I see where the merger is going. I also will see what announcements are on the Nexus 3. If quad-core Nexus 3 is out by December then why upgrade less than two months before that?

This is frustrating and I wish the carriers and manufacturers would just be up front about at least a general timeline when phones are due to be released. I’m not a fan of the iPhone but at least you know to usually expect it around June every year (except possibly this year but we’ll see about that at WWDC in June).

    • Zifnab2k

Not sure to the accuracy of it, but a Google Android spokesperson was quoted saying that Nexus devices would continue to roll out on the usual schedule. You should be able to expect a Nexus 3, or whatever they call it, around the end of December beginning of January.

I wanted to wait for the Nexus as well, but i’ve been off contract for 3 months… time for an upgrade. With Hercules scheduled for September, it looks like a Sensation for me for the time being.

  • Weasel

No GS2… no interest… Way to fail T-mo. All of these phones are SPARE.

    • majentarulz

      Hercules is SGS2

  • Mark

Is anyone else surprised that there is no Motorola device listed anywhere on this list?

    • Anonymous

Motorola sucks anyways but that is strange.

  • Karlc

(insert eddie murphy voice here) hercules, hercules, hercules……….

  • David

get a grip folks. you are being had by the man. why would you spend your hard earned $ on phones and modems that wont work in less than a year.

I mean….really. Lock in the best contract you can and enjoy the ride. Keep abreast of what ATT is rolling out as that is our future. In fact, we should start including that in this thread.

Like I said the other day, this is all about politics. TMO’s results were horrid. Its ofver, makes me sad but I was sad when I was laid off when the tech bubble burst.

My first cell phone, back in the day was a Nokia Soap bar that was indestructible. Man things have changed.

What has not changed is votes. All the TMOers coming over will be union votes; votes to keep the clowns in office.

Save your money or move to Sprint now. They will finance up to 175 of the charge. Do you think Sprint would do that if there were a chance this would not go thru???

    ATT with LTE oh yeah!

PS: That Blackberry Lineup is lame. They are done. No BB user will be motivated to switch. I know many and they only change when they have to.

    • Wesley

I’m not sure that you really know what you are talking about here.  First, no devices will be bricked the day of the merger.  devices that will not work on the ATT network will be phased out as they are replaced for phones that will work on all bands.  What WILL happen is that the current devices will not be able to take advantage of the ATT current spectrum.  They will still work on the legacy TMO towers.  Second, I’m not sure how you figure that ALL TMO employees will be made union members on the day of the merge.  True, ATT does have some union employees but the vast majority are not union members, and membership is optional at that (Not sure how you figure that all Union members always vote for incumbents too but whatever).

Why not, instead of going to sprint where you current device will not work, lock in a low rate with TMO now and get grandfathered in with your contract there.  Worst case is that ATT tries to raise your rates and you can leave with no ETF.  Not sure how leaving now is helpful unless you have other reasons.

Finally, you are free to do what you want but you should try to refrain from spewing disinformation on a site like this that likely has alot of people coming in to try and make heads or tails of things.  Do your research and offer opinions based on the truth.

What’s up up with David he wrote a big downer maybe t-mobile is selling these phones fo stay afloat and attract new customers hmmm just a thought plus if you switch to AT&T will you shut down tmonews I thought you were as big of a fanboy as most of us I guess AT&news wi be coming soon last I’m hoping that LG gelato will be a nexus.. Gelato (Italian pronunciation: [d?e?la?to]; plural: gelati) is an ancient Italian frozen dessert, a far more recent variant of which is ice cream… just saying

    • http://tmonews.com David

Huh what? What downer are you referring to? I already have some domain names picked out in the event of an AT&T takeover. I don’t know what downer you are referring to?

Much better than AT&T who misleads people into thinking their 4G phones will work as fast as other networks 4G or at all. ATT are snake oil sales people.

I think LG “Gelato” might run Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich because it name (Gelato) is a word for ice cream in Italian
