Happy New Years TmoNews Fans!! Welcome 2011!

What a year this has been for our beloved Magenta with ups and downs and quite a bit in between. We’ve seen quarterly subscriber numbers that we hope to improve, the launch of 4G, the meteoric growth of Android, and the addition of Carly and iPhone rumors galore. What will happen with T-Mobile and Sprint is a question we’ve seen asked far to many times this year. The G2, myTouch4G, HD7, Nexus One … [read full article]

Best Buy Experiencing Troubles Activating New T-Mobile Lines?

Word coming in from BGR is that Best Buy is currently experiencing troubles activating new T-Mobile lines. According to BGR, Best Buy’s new line activation system for T-Mobile has been down for almost a week. Because of this, if you want to purchase a Nexus S (or other T-Mobile handsets), you will be forced to pay the full retail price (that is, if you really really want it that badly). We’re unsure whether this is a nationwide issue or limited … [read full article]

T-Mobile Takes Best Customer Service Win According To Laptop Mag

By now T-Mobile is used to winning customer service excellence awards but each and every one must give them another shot of pride. This time Laptop Magazine, one of my favorite sites has rated T-Mobile as having the best customer service among the big four carriers. T-Mobile doesn’t come off perfect, but this wholly unscientific test shows that by and large T-Mobile reps were more informed and faster at getting the … [read full article]

Motorola Cliq 2 Breaks Cover, Arrives January 19th

Well that was certainly fast as images of the Motorola Cliq 2 surfaced just hours after the release date hit our inbox. So far we’re a little underwhelmed by the look of the device so lets hope what’s under the hood impresses us. Internal specs are still a mystery other than a supposed 5 megapixel camera and Bluetooth 2.1. We imagine that Wi-Fi calling will find it’s way into this … [read full article]

Microsoft Promotes Windows Azure With T-Mobile Family Room

Even if Windows Phone 7 isn’t your cup of tea this phone is worth the 3:45 you’ll spend watching it. Microsoft hopes to showcase how their Microsoft Azure platform can provide a stable and fast work environment with an emphasis on how T-Mobile completed the Family Room project for Windows Phone 7 in just six weeks. The Family Room platform is the “post it note on the refrigerator” for the digital age allowing family members … [read full article]

Dell Streak 7, Motorola Cliq2 Launching January 19th?

For anyone patiently waiting for Motorola to drop the Motorola Cliq 2 or Dell fans hoping to grab the upcoming Dell Streak 7 pencil January 19th onto your calendar. We urge the use of the pencil, as our ninja was pretty clear this date is tentative and with CES right around the bend anything and everything is subject to change.  Either way I’m eagerly awaiting some images of the Cliq2 to … [read full article]

T-Mobile To Release 24 Data Devices In 2011?

Today’s news of the Dell Streak 7 on its way to T-Mobile has me wondering just how many data devices T-Mobile is planning to release in 2011. Rumor has it that we could see close to 24, that’s right, 24 data devices during the course of the next year. That’s a combination of USB modems, MiFi hotspots, laptops and tablets, tablets and more tablets. With plenty of news sources calling 2011 the … [read full article]

T-Mobile Releases Next Commercial With Carly And AT&T

T-Mobile has released another commercial in its myTouch4G/4G-network campaign, this time knocking video calling over wifi.  This commercial highlights the limitations imposed by wifi only video chat when one of the users steps outside the wifi zone, or in the case of this commercial, outside the cones. The “glitchy” effect given to the “iPhone4” showcases the need to stay within the wifi range in order to have a call that that doesn’t end up looking … [read full article]
