Oh No! Nationwide Outage

UPDATE 1: As of 9:30pm est approximately only 5% of users are still experiencing a service disruption. The rapid response team which really equates to Catherine Zeta Jones flying from tower to tower is on the job.

UPDATE 2: Please do not overload T-Mobile customer care regarding this issue, they are swamped, overloaded and they have as much information as you do!! Give them a break!

Apparently, a nationwide voice outage is plaguing some users today.  This outage seems to be limited to voice, and for some reason it is causing phones to not be recognized on a network while using T-Mobile’s UMA service.  Let’s hope this gets resolved quickly and let’s be thankful that we all still have our data (is it too soon for that joke?).  We will keep you updated as we learn more.

UPDATE: T-Mobile USA has confirmed that they are aware of the outage and have mobilized their rapid response teams to restore service as quickly as possible. Official statement from T-Mobile below:

T-Mobile customers may be experiencing service disruptions impacting voice and data. Our rapid response teams have been mobilized to restore service as quickly as possible. We will provide updates as more information is available.

    I’m in Chicagoland area and I’m getting hit with this. For me all networks are down including data. Maybe they took them down to fix the voice but I can’t access a thing on my G1.

    Voice is working fine for me, then again I have a myTouch, so no UMA there. I dunno about anyone else, but I’ve been having a heck of a time sending text messages this afternoon… either they don’t send (keep getting message sending failed, they eventually go through after trying like 6 times) or they just take forever to go through… I sent myself a text 10 minutes ago and have yet to get it o.O

    VOice is gone here in california. been trying to call the wifey and it rings busy. she can make outgoing so its all good incase of emergency for now

    I am getting ‘No Network Coverage’. I am in the Portland/Beaverton area. Also unable to send text messages. Is this really a nationwide outage? Geesh! :O(

    definitely not just limited to voice. in south florida and my mytouch wont’ connect to voice or data.

    I just noticed my phone said “no service’ a couple minutes ago (Bothell, WA N.E. of Seattle)…

    no voice or data here in chicago n/w suburbs since about 4pm. Tmobile @home VOIP works. Hopefully this resolves soon.

    Los Angeles here – Can call out fine, but no one can call in (recieve busy signal).

    Downtown Chicago – couldn’t get service for a while, now logged on to the UMTS network, but can’t receive calls. Customer service says the problem is mostly not being able to receive calls. I can make calls though.

    yeah my g1 is out and about 10 of my friends g1′s are all out were in atlanta…. reallly sucks typing on facebook, ughhh no voice or data

    i have a sidekick lx 09 and i havent been getting any reception for the last hour.
    my mom and a few friends arnt getting any reception either.
    no calls, text, data, nothing!
    i was starting to feel better about tmobile even though i was effected by the sidekick outage last month.
    but now im just fed up.

    Orlando FL – Talk@Home must have been out because I was home all day and didnt hear the home phone ring once – but I had 7 messages later this evening when I checked. I thought it was wierd!

    weird, after catching my phone in mid air after throwing my myTouch against the wall for not sending a text, I came to this site and theres my answer. Weird thou cuz it worked a couple hours ago, it must of just hit me like an hour ago. Fuck! Well hopefully it wont be to long till it gets back up.

    My data is out. I’ve got nothing for the last 40 minutes. Was fine all day before. I am on a g1 w/ my favs 300 (i think) and the infinite data and text smartphone plan.

    outgoing calls work, incoming = fast busy and data network now gone in Phoenix AZ

    In the Seattle area:

    1. Inbound voice fails with a fast busy.
    2. Outbound voice seems to be ok.
    3. Inbound SMS seems to be working
    4. Outbound SMS ?
    5. UMA – fails with W006.7 error if you try to connect.

    on my phone it is voice and SMS. I have a G Phone. The operator at Tmobile said it was a global outage, not limited to any specific phone, and could be intermittent. My son, located in another part of the state, has the same phone but no outage.

    I wish they would put announcements up or issue a press release.

    I’m in Greenville, SC, tried both my G1 and Dash.
    I can call out, but no one can call me and I have no data.
    I just missed an important job interview because the interviewer couldn’t call me and I didn’t know that there was a problem.

    My wife called me and said that she’s been trying to call for the past hour and got a weird error message, she also said she sent me an MMS (from her g1 to my g1) and I didnt get it. Northern California (southbay)
