The LG G7 ThinQ is getting its second update from T-Mobile this month.

T-Mobile is now updating its LG G7 to version G710TM20d. This update comes in at 172.8MB and includes the July 2019 Android security patches, up from the previous May 2019 security patch level.

This update is now rolling out over the air, and TmoNews readers Jamie and Chuck have already received it. If your G7 hasn’t yet updated, you can wait for the OTA to hit your phone in the coming days, or you can manually check for it by going into your phone’s Settings app, selecting the “General” tab, and then tapping Update center > System update > Check for update.

LG G7 ThinQ owners, be sure to let us know when this update hits your neck of the woods!

Thanks, Jamie and Chuck!

Still no updates for The V30!!

You are not getting Pie on the V30. It is not on the software update page. However it did get the Nougat to Oreo update.

      • gramps28

It’s been confirmed by a Tmobile employee on the Tmobile forums.

        • Dominimmiv

Interesting. Still not on T-Mobiles support page.

        • gramps28

The V40 and G7 pie update weren’t on the support page when updated also. The page is updated that often.

        • Dominimmiv

Both of them are on the support page. The G7/V40 were added 4 months ago and are still listed as “testing” for the G7 and the V40 is listed as “development”. You are correct the page isnt updated often but if an T-Mobile LG 2 year old phone isn’t listed now it is unlikely it will be. But you never know….

It’s not letting me add links but the G7 was never listed as getting Pie on the update page when it was being released. The V40 had it in development when it was released.

        • Dominimmiv

You are correct. When it was released it did not appear on TMO’s support page. It did appear a few months later. Personally I dont care about other carrier or international versions; I have the TMO version and that is what matters to me.

I brought one used on ebay for $90.00 for a back up,was using my note 3 as a back up,,that was showing it age. My main phone is the Note 9,really ashamed that Lg/Tmo is not supporting that phone,it is really nice. Couple of ppl on here was waiting for Pie for it.

The T-Mobile update page is notoriously inaccurate. Phones pop up on it at the last minute and updates go directly from development to complete.

The Pie update has been confirmed for the V30.

I didn’t realize Tmo/Lg came with out G8,most of the time when Tmo bing out new phone, then eol,the one before it real fast. Suprise they are still selling it.

LG G7 isn’t available to purchase anymore, but there still supporting security and software for it.

I believe when the LG G9 comes out, LG G7 will stop getting the updates.

No Tmo is still selling it,it on their site, they are selling it for$400. I just check to see if they were before I post that reply.

        • Jamie F

My apologie. last time I checked, it was backordered and when I spoke to the customer care. they said it was under eol and they weren’t going to get anymore in.

  • Dominimmiv

    Got it today

  • SirStephenH

Still no Pie live on my V30 though. This update center of LG’s that was supposed to speed up patch releases up seems to have only slowed them down.

Exactly. Frustrating to now be out of compliance so all work email/calendaring is shut off. I just need April’s update to be good… Having July’s is a pipe dream.
