LG G7 ThinQ shows its face in new image leak

With just a couple of weeks to go before the LG G7 ThinQ’s official reveal, we’re getting our best look yet at the upcoming flagship.

An image that clearly shows the front of the LG G7 ThinQ has been leaked by Evan Blass. The render shows a device with a design similar to the LG G6, complete with rounded corners and a bottom bezel. What’s different, though, is that there’s a smaller top bezel and a display notch that appears to hold a camera, earpiece, and some sensors.

We don’t get to see the back of the LG G7 ThinQ in this image, but a previous image leak suggested that it’ll be home to a vertically-stacked dual rear camera setup with a fingerprint reader below it.

LG has said that it’ll officially unveil the G7 ThinQ in May 2. The name of the device has been confirmed, and the fact that it’s got “ThinQ” in the name suggests that LG will place a focus on AI features. Rumors have said that the device will also have a Snapdragon 845 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of built-in storage.

And v8 for their current flagship the v30 is still EIGHT MONTHS LATE AND WILL BE OBSOLETE WHEN IT ARRIVES! v8.1 has had 3 updates and yet we cant get v8.0!

This is one of the reasons why LG is dying in the phone market.

      • J.J.

Or maybe because a history of buggy/lackluster phones! I kept coming back nexus 5,g4,g6, and coerced into a v20(after the double note 7 debacle) all had software issues! I think im done with them for a bit.

Why are you clammering for 8.1? There are really no benefits to 8.1 it was a Pixel 2 update that activated the visual core chip and fixed a few emojis like the cheeseburger LOL

      • Andre Dionne

He’s not clamoring for 8.1. His point is that 8.1 has launched and even gotten updates, but our V30’s still haven’t even seen 8.0 yet.

And Android P around the corner.

  • Carl Grimes

LG gives you little to no support with their phones. You might get a security update, then nothing.

You got that right! Purchased an LG Stylo 3 Plus about 4 months ago. Very disappointed with both site AND customer service! Might be my last LG phone.

    • riverhorse

Much better than all other brands that don’t even fix their firmware bugs. The game so far is limited to Apple, Samsung, and LG…IF you use your phone for work.

The LG Notch-Q is back! :-P That notch tho….

  • Mr.Bean ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

I’m thinQing whether to get this or the V30?

    • Iphart

If your willing to spend $800+, i’d Say get S9+ or the X (if you like iPhones).

      • EF

Or go to Swappa and pay around $500 for a mint LG V30

  • Sayahh

Every time I see ThinQ, I think of BenQ.

Where is our V30 Oreo update?!

    • SirStephenH

It was supposed to come out this weekend but it has reportedly been delayed again.

      • ip247365

WHA? Where did you see that?

        • SirStephenH

Meanwhile the V30 update has reportedly been delayed AGAIN.

4GB RAM? That’s mid-range territory nowadays. I tried supporting LG with the V30 but man it let me down. After switching to the S9+, Damn what a difference! Samsung has it’s faults too but ot as bad as the V30. The V30 REALLY needed that 6GB RAM, better speakers, brighter screen, no freezing when you record video at 1080p@60fps. To be fair even the S9+ has a limited amount of time you can record at 4k and 1080p@60fps. But the camera on both front and rear are way better on the S9+, especially the front one. The front camera on the V30 is grainy.

    • steadymobb

LG front cams have always been one of the worst.

      • riverhorse

I agree with all yous. Now let’s wait for some self absorbed socialist troll: 4gb ram more than enough on Android/this ain’t Windows, buy an SD, only rear cameras supposed to be high end, MY phone with 2gb/16gb is fast as heck/you must be doing something wrong on yours.

        • CJNewYork

You want the front camera to be the best of the best, but you’re not self absorbed at all…LOL

    • SirStephenH

64GB of storage is a little low now and days too.

  • CJNewYork

Everything else is fine, but ugh… that stupid notch! I hope the V40 doesn’t have it.

  • Phil

No removable battery , count me out

  • Carl Grimes

The notch is a complete turn off! If the V40 has it then I’m completely done with LG. I’ll go back to Samsung or Sony.
