T-Mobile kicks off Buy One, Get One deal on LG G6 and LG V20

We’ve seen a few different Buy One, Get One deals on the Galaxy S8 from T-Mobile in recent months, but today T-Mo is switching things up with a different BOGO offer.

T-Mobile is now offering a BOGO deal on the LG G6 and LG V20. To qualify, you’ll need to buy either a G6 or V20 on EIP, then add a line and purchase another G6 or V20 on EIP. You’ll then register on T-Mobile’s Promotions Hub with the promo code 17Q3LGBOGO, and T-Mo will send you a prepaid MasterCard card worth up to $500 to cover the cost of your second device.

The LG G6 is currently priced at $20 down and $20 per month for 24 months, which works out to a total of $500. The LG V20 is a bit cheaper, coming in at $0 down and $20 per month, or $480 total.

The G6 and V20 are LG’s two current flagship Android smartphones, though the V20 will be replaced by the V30 later this month. Both phones offer high-end Snapdragon processors, 4GB of RAM, Quad HD displays, and dual rear camera setups. With the G6, you’re getting in on the 2017 trend of slim bezels, while the V20 offers a secondary display above the main screen for access to recently used apps, music controls, and more.

T-Mobile’s LG G6 and LG V20 BOGO deal will be available for a limited time.

Did this deal when LG ran it with no add a line required. Worked out great!

    • Ascertion

Yeah, T-Mobile shut it down real quick. They want to keep the investors happy with these add a line additions but it looks like almost every comment on here knows the drill now. I haven’t taken advantage of a Tmo BOGO in over a year now because every new promo requires a new line.

Wait until you get the rebate, and then cancel the line. Use the kickback option, so you only pay $15 a month on the extra line. I thought it was a pretty good deal.

  • pda96

Add a line? No thanks. If TMO wants to get rid of old stock, then just have a straight up sale. V20 is too old. G6 is another misfire from LG (nothing there for music listeners).

    • Ty Christensen

Amen to that! Just give us a straight up BOGO, no BS, they’d get rid of so much more inventory which is what they’re shooting for.

    • marque2

you only have to keep the new line until you get the rebate. It only cost me $15 a month to keep that line (since it was using less than 2 gigs a month) and then you cancel it.

      • pda96

If there’s a will, there’s a way, right? That’s very creative. But I’d rather not go thru the hassle :)

        • marque2

I really needed the two phones. I was hating my relatively new S7 and the mom’s Nexus 5x went into boot loop. It worked out for me.

If it were just an update, I would think twice about the bogo /w line as well.

    • Android_God

Ya, a misfire… A higher-end smartphone for the cost of a mid-range. Stop the madness, what was LG thinking!

  • francob911 .

Add a line!!? WTF I’m maxed out on lines (12 lines) I can’t BS

12 lines? Holy cow, did u add all your neighbors onto your plan or something? :)

  • Iphart

No thank you. Do not need another line.

    • marque2

You can cancel it after you get the rebate. I did this. Got the rebate, two portable projectors and two sets of very nice headsets. I put the extra line on the kickback plan where you pay $10 less if you use less than 2 gigs a month – so that only cost me 20 bucks and then cancelled the one extra line.

We should not have to add lines and go through the trouble of doing all that. Nothing is ever “free”. You can buy a V20 unlocked at Newegg for $349 and daily steals has an unlocked Verizon model for $249 (missing band 12 though). Piss on T-Mobile and their worthless deals. They’re all either add a line or trade in your phone.

        • marque2

Took me 5 extra minutes out of my time. But I agree, at this point the V20 is kind of old. G6 is still OK.

Be careful with the internet unlocked deals – more likely than not, it is a phone for another carrier, or is the Korean version of the phone, which they claim works on TMo but is missing several key bands.

Note that Newegg has gone from being a single source supplier to an aggregator of storefronts. It is like Amazon. It isn’t like buying from Best Buy as well. Again – what is that Latin phrase – Caveat – emptor? “Let the buyer beware.”

        • dcmanryan

I agree it doesn’t take much time, but it’s annoying. The new iPhone trade in deal may be a better option for most as you can now trade in an iPhone 5/5c and get $300 via prepaid card. The best part? NO new line is needed. They’re obviously trying to unload stock, but you can potentially get an iPhone 7 32gb for $349 after you put the card towards the payments. Not as good as a free iPhone 7 like when it came out, but it’s a way to unload your worthless 5/5c phones laying around.

I always found iPhones a bit overpriced for what you get – so I am invested in the Android program. I would consider switching, with a deal like this, since google has become quite evil and engaging in massive censorship programs – but alas, Apple is just as evil if not worse.

Same with Apple Macs,. Elegant systems, but twice the price of what I am able to pay for a computer.

        • dcmanryan

I was thinking of switching back to iPhone. I was an iPhone guy until the 5, but iOS is to locked down for me. Even with the $300 off you’re still looking at $569 for a 7+ 128gb, the same price and storage of the Pixel XL currently which I consider a superior device.

For now I’ll just stick with my aging Moto X Pure I’m thinking and see what deals come with the Note, iPhone and Pixel new models.

  • They_Call_Me_Bruce

This deal was better in June. I got it then when add a line was only $10 a month, plus LG gave me 2 projectors and 2 sets of headphones. Coincidentally, I just got my $500 card in the mail today.

On a side note, the projector LG gave out isn’t that bad. It’s usable which is more than I expected for a freebie. Made a quick and easy 100 inch projector screen the other day and had movie night with the family in the back yard. No problems once it got dark out.

  • Limeybastard

Fu** me, they have lost the plot about being uncarrier.

    • dcmanryan

I agree. T-Mobile has had worthless deals ever since March. They killed it with the free One Plus promos, 20% hookup code promotion, free lines. Glad I signed up then.

  • Android_God

It’s a shame that those of us on grandfathered plans would be forced to upgrade to the unlimited plans in order to take advantage of this. I’m not going to pay $50 more a month just to get a free phone. I can only imagine there must be a lot of people like me that T-Mobile is refusing to do business with

    • Cronq

I’ve been with them since VoiceStream. I’m actually willing to add a line as my son is needing a phone, but they won’t even let me add lines to my plan.

  • :)

Have 3 lines and they said I would have to add a line then cancel it after 90 days to get the BOGO. So it is BOGO with strings attached so not true BOGO

  • Bklynman

I think this deal didn’t go over good as Tmo thought it would, they just added free tablet to it.
    The G Pad X2 8.0 PLUS.
