Buy a Samsung Galaxy S7 from Costco, get a free HDTV

Today we learned that Samsung and T-Mobile are offering a $150 rebate on last year’s Galaxy flagships, but if you’d prefer the latest and greatest, you may want to visit your friendly neighborhood Costco store.

Costco is kicking off a deal that’ll get you a 32-inch Samsung HDTV with the purchase of a Samsung Galaxy S7. In addition to the TV, you’ll get a $25 Costco Cash Card and a 5200mAh portable battery pack to keep your new phone topped up on the go.

According to an image shared by TmoNews reader @0oiiiiio0, you’ll need to buy your GS7 on a device installment plan in order to qualify for this free HDTV deal. The fine print also notes that if you return the GS7, you’ll need to return the HDTV as well, so don’t think that you’ll be able to return the phone shortly after buying it just to score a free television.

If you’ve been thinking about getting a Galaxy S7 and you happen to be a Costco member, this looks like a good time to treat yourself to a new phone. Not only are you getting a decently-sized Samsung HDTV with your phone, but you’ll also get a battery pack and a $25 to spend elsewhere in the store. And the good news is that this deal will run for almost all of May, so you’ve got some time to get to a Costco and take advantage of the offer.

Thanks, @0oiiiiio0!

Also saw this in the latest coupon book. Not a bad deal. Hopefully they run something similar or better for next year’s Samsung flagship.

      Not a bad deal?

Getting locked into a payment plan certainly isn’t a GOOD deal.

      • besweeet

If it’s a device you’re planning on sticking with for the duration of the installment plan, it’s fine.

      • TaekwonBo

A payment plan isn’t a bad deal, it’s interest free. It’s only a bad deal it you overextend yourself.

        • Verizonthunder

TheVorion just wants a free high end smartphone, just the the rest of the cheap bastards in our country O-o.

      • Mike

Just pay if off in two or three months

      • Phillip

It’s interest free . What part of this deal being for a person that’s wanting the phone anyway don’t you guys understand. I already purchased mine and my wife’s gs7 but for the new buyer why not get a free TV and battery pack

      • Sayahh

Actually, I don’t want to get locked into a payment plan: I want to buy the phone straight up and pay for the whole thing, but if it’s required then it’s a deal-breaker for me. The TV is useless for me as I have a much bigger TV that I hardly watch.

Wow, looks like a terrible deal. $780 and you get a fairly cheap battery and a crappy 32″ 720P tv. As a bonus your phone has an epoxied battery so you’ll likely have a fraction of the battery life when you are done paying it off. My note 4 lasted 13 months before showing dramatically less battery life, fortunately for $25 or so I could get a new battery.

    • Mike

      Good for u

      • B Brad

Unless you want to spend $780 every year or so I’d recommend a different phone.

        • Phillip

Haha well my note 4 2 years ago was 850 not cheap . Sour whats your point . I have phones a lot older that still keep a charge. Not everyone is cash strapped as you claim to be and folks on the jump plan like myself get a new Samsung every year

        • Frankwhitess

Why rent? Lease that bad boy lol…

    • Phillip

What the heck are you talking about. Frist off the phone is $700 and yeah if your in the market to get one anyway it’s a damn good deal .plus you get a TV and battery charger. It the deals not for you then keep it moving . You removable battery trolls will not give up . Dude look around you only LG has a removable battery and they still can’t sell the LG g5

      • riverhorse

        Call me a removable battery / usb3c / fm radio / SD / dual sim / 6~7″ troll/tool/fool.

        • Phillip

I see a note 6 in your future.. but I hardly doult there be a removable battery are a 7in screen . Everything else is a major go

        • riverhorse

You know, it’s a constant struggle to downsize daily work walking load:
big case w/ laptop gave way to small case w/ tablet…
a 7-8″ phone(not tablet) would just fit in coat/cargo pants pocket, eliminating carrying tablet / case.
I was excited when Surface Phone(with its own desk docking station) announced, but then Intel subsequently announced deprecating that processor line. And there doesn’t seem to exist any other processor with all the necessary features.

Price has always been the biggest issue with Samsung and Apple devices. But to Phillip’s point, this is a nice haul for something that many people ( were already going to purchase.

I agree that I don’t need another sub 4k TV–especially a 32″–or slow and small battery charger. But this phone (I have the Edge) is great and I’m not going to complain if Sammy wants to throw in a few freebies of this caliber (beats getting just a case and car charger, Costco!). Between the free year of Netflix and my VR setup, I’d love to see these things done every year for both of their big phone releases.

    • riverhorse

I totally agree. For this to be a good deal you need AT LEAST the next size up for BOTH gimmes, TWO SIZES UP for very good, THREE for great.

All that being said, if offered also for the Note 5 and Metro or Tmo prepaid, would be very hard to pass up.

  • Allen Alberto Enriquez

What about JOD!? Can upgrade this way!?

  • I’m just a Friend of Friend

Last year they gave away $250 cash card when you bought the Note 5. I’m patiently waiting for that to happen again this year.

  • Danny Lewis

I wonder if this can apply for the Edge… really, I don’t see why not since it is more expensive than the regular S7.

    • Anthony DeMichael

Does not apply to the S7 Edge. Just came from Costco.
This does seem like a pretty solid deal.
Although idk… The Edge is so sexy. I don’t even think it’s that useful lol. And I used a friend’s and it was honestly mildly annoying, the way I held it I kept hitting things in the edge! But I still want it. Prob just a learning curve.

  • HeatFan786

I just got a Samsung Smart TV and they really make great TVs. The S7 also is the best smartphone on the market, so nice deal.

    • Guest

      I believe you.

  • J Cav the Great

But what if I have jump on demand? How do i trade my phone in to get the GS7?
