T-Mobile offering a free memory boost on the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge from Wednesday

T-Mobile has announced a new deal just in time for summer. Matching a promotion it launched a few weeks ago, T-Mo is yet again offering a free memory boost for new and existing customers looking to buy the Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge. Be warned, this is a very short term deal. It starts on Wednesday, June 24th and ends on Saturday, June 27th.

Customers buying a 64GB Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge will get it for the price of the 32GB model. That’s a saving of $80, and it’s going to be available with $0 down on EIP. If you want even more storage, you’ll be able to get a 128GB Galaxy S6/Edge for the price of the 64GB model ($100 off the usual price) and with $99 down on EIP.

T-Mobile sent us the following announcement:

Now that summer is officially here, T-Mobile is kicking things off by bringing back one the hottest deals of 2015 – a free memory upgrade on the sizzling Samsung G S6 and G S6 edge. For a short time starting this Wednesday, June 24 – Saturday, June 27, new and existing Un-carrier customers can get:

  • a 64GB Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S6 edge at the price of 32GB – that’s an $80 saving – and $0 down;
  • or GO BIG and get a 128GB model at the price of the 64GB model – a savings of $100 – for just $99 down.

But throw on your flip flops and act fast – the deal ends Saturday, June 27th! Go to any store or online starting on Wednesday.

Any discount on the 32 gig model?

  • archerian

So the reports were right, S6 units aren’t exactly flying off the shelves… and add to it recent competition from the G4 with its better pricing and freebies

    • Adrayven

Couldn’t happen to a more deserving company. lol

I like the G4, would have gone Moto X but they missed on battery .. again..

  • joemail

when i see memory…i think RAM!
should really be internal storage boost!

“Be warned, this is a very short term deal. It starts on Wednesday, June 26th and ends on Saturday, June 27th.” – uhhh, dates and days are not correct. Who is your editor around here?

    • Bryck2003

What happened to Thursday, and Friday lol.

  • Please correct the headline. There is no MEMORY (RAM) boost to be had but rather a STORAGE boost. No need to perpetuate a common misnomer.

Just because a select portion of masses can’t get it straight and certain companies may pander to their idiocy doesn’t change the fact that these terms should not be considered interchangeable.

Some may claim that everyone knows what was meant given the context but that’s an overly broad assumption that’s likely incorrect. I expect better from a tech publication but perhaps I shouldn’t?

This is probably because Wikipedia has a “Flash memory” article.

    • Joe

Yes you are so right it makes me go crazy how much ppl confuse them.

    • NardVa

I automatically assumed it was storage knowing it would be impossible for Samsung to offer a RAM upgrade.

    • Adam

An alternative solution would be to add the word ‘secondary’ before memory, because all memory stores information.

  • Philip

If T-mobile sell a S6 Active, I will get it. I want something different.

  • Philip

Samsung should have made it with a microSD slot, then we dont have to deal with this promo. But hope, they want to follow Apple. GREED.

    • David

SD Cards? Eww, no thanks. Way slower than the internal memory and SD cards are more prone to get corrupted. Again, no thanks.

  • The punisher

So if I bought one this weekend I can go change it?

    • Joe

U probably can cuz you are in the 14 day return policy.

  • J-Hop2o6

I was hoping for a RAM management fix, but this is about (Internal) STOARGE.

  • donnybee

I had a small spike of interest thinking Samsung bumped up the RAM..

  • nurthys

anyone know if this will work on Jump?

  • Dzenan Fazila Sehic

Qualified buys are new users and existing users that are either legibility for a jump or new phone purchase or bought any phone and are withing the 14 day window. Everyone else like me who got the damn thing June 1st is out of luck. Since no one was clarifying this anywhere.

  • dontsh00tmesanta

Gotta get that ram management fixed

  • mreveryphone

I did this a few weeks ago and exchanged my 32gb edge for the 64gb… And I bought that phone in the middle of April… Wonder if I can exchange the one I have now for the 128gb one?

  • Gapper Me

What if today is my 14th day of exchange period…is there any way I can make use of this promotion? I think returning phone will incur restocking fee…..

    • dtam

I suppose go to the store and see? good luck!

      • Gapper Me

Thanks. I will try and see!

    • Gapper Me

Restocking fee is 10%? If so, it nullifies the savings from the promotion!

  • Kirk Lange

Just got my 32gb S6 Edge 7 days ago….i’ll gladly pay a restocking fee for more memory!
