Upcoming Blackberry Z10 Showcased Alongside The iPhone 5

Chalk up yet another video from the folks at Telekom Presse showing off the upcoming Blackberry Z10. The Z10, better known to us on T-Mobile as the “Lisbon,” is set to be unveiled on January 30th at Blackberry’s launch event. According to the most recent T-Mobile roadmap, the Z10 aka Lisbon will launch on Magenta store shelves on March 27th.

Until then, and before Blackberry’s own event later this month, the folks from Telekom Presse are back with a side-by-side look at the Z10 and the iPhone 5. As the Blackberry Z10 isn’t final software, any and all comparisons should be taken with a grain of salt, but at the very least you can compare hardware.

Check out the video to at least get another look at the Z10 in action and determine whether or not your interest for the January 30th BB event just increased a little.

Rumored specs for the specs include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.2? display (1280 x768), quad-band LTE, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB internal storage, 8 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front camera, 1800mAh battery, NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, and microSD expandable storage. Its safe to assume that any T-Mobile specific device would also include HSPA+ connectivity as well.

If I didn’t know this was coming to tmobile I would’ve already settled for a Windowsphone 8.

Why couldn’t they get somebody with an American accent to film this? I can barely understand what this man is saying.

    • Guest

Those dang foreigners are speaking our language with an accent…it’s so inconsiderate of them!

    • Is that because its in German?

      • thepanttherlady

Well come on, David. How DARE those Germans speak German in an accent we can’t understand! =P

    • tomnewtn

Accent? You mean language do you not? Non capisco?

  • Wow. That is buttery smooth, and I’m really excited to see BlackBerry get their chance to shine again. This device should do well, as it clearly has what it takes to compete with current devices.

  • Darrien Glasser

That awkward moment when BlackBerry’s unfinished product is better than the “best” iPhone out there.

    • Mcbain

Blackberry’s product has never been better than the best any phone it’s ever competed with. Let’s see how much better it is after we see the sales numbers.

  • trife

Wow, I’m very impressed. I don’t think I’d buy a BB again, but for those that prefer them this looks like it’ll be a treat to own. Sweet!

On another note, this guy’s jittery hands were very distracting lol.

    • Deadeye37

That was really distracting. The guy needs to stop putting no-doz in his Monster energy drinks. :)

      • fathom7411

Not really funny. The guy may have Parkinson’s disease.

  • Guest911

the money made from the quarterly sales of one phone is enough to buy the whole company that makes the other…

    • True in deed. Bummer. But take any device and replace it with the position of and give it the same success I’d have the same attitude. The “success” of the iPhone is because the majority prefer simple, tried,”popular” and true. The iPhone is commodity item with a legion of cult followers that give it the success it has

  • Zacamandapio

    Release the phone already!!!

  • JamesBond88

Oh wow…I can already see the pending lawsuits from Apple…

  • Bryan Sandoval

will apple sue rim for trade dress infringement like they did Sammy cause it looks like a clone hardware wise. Or its just Samsung they are going after?

    • If they try they will have a really hard time as some of those patents have already been dismissed. Also the device may look similar in shape but that is where it stops.

  • Mirad77

I can smell ripe fruits from the fruit company.em em em em em tasty.

  • I use to be a BlackBerry owner. They were never battery hogs and also had good clear loud speakers for music. I wonder if this joint will be the same. I’m also curious if they still charge that stupid $10/mo fee for BIS/BES.

  • Scott Walsh

    BlackBerry is doomed.

  • Nathan Aker

I can definitely see previous Blackberry owners ditch their iPhones for this, but I don’t think people who use their smartphones for non-business purposes will have any interest in this.

    • thepanttherlady

      You’d be wrong.

    • Snoopyalien24

If it launches with the supposed “70,000” apps, then I would highly consider the BB.

  • tonkotsu

could blackberry have been more creative with their designs? this is even worse than the original galaxy in terms of copying the iphone’s looks

    • tomnewtn

How much different can a smart phone look? By design they have a display on one side and a solid back on the other. I guess they could make them heart shaped or something.

      • tonkotsu

don’t be stupid. htc, samsung, sony, lg can all make their phones look different enough

minus the home button, this just looks like a larger iphone 4/4s

  • Mobilewolf789

You know that’s Mr.Heins himself pretending to be some random reviewer. He’s gotta lay off the coffee!. On a separate note I’m impressed, but something that took this long should be nothing short of polished.Let’s hope their app stores is filled with at least all the most common and popular apps between platforms.

    • Mobilewolf789

Oh I’m sorry not random – a Telekom Presse reporter!

  • HeadBangToThis

this is a terrible f*cking overlook with. i can not even watch this guy operate with his stupid f*cking hands shaking

  • thatguy26

if blackberry ever gets the app support, im sold

  • tomnewtn

Glad to see the back comes off because in my previous experience with BB’s they require battery pull resets often. This looks mighty fine so hopefully it’s solid piece of kit.

  • They should have went with a logo on the front and remove the blackberry wording to make screen larger use the symbol and then BlackBerry on the back “We dont want our name covered in the event people have a case /s” well tough shit sell word of mouth not branding

Notice how there were no actual apps in the app world…Smh When will BB learn that the smartphone market today is dominated by app selection. Just put a google play store in your phone already!!

    • thepanttherlady

You’re upset because there are no apps in the app world for a device that hasn’t launched yet? O_o

RIM has stated there will be around 70,000 apps available at time of launch and if this does well more will be coming. In a recent 36 hour port-a-thon event, developers submitted 15,000 apps.

    • Bajamin

It’s not even launched yet. Over 70k apps at launch are already announced. More than what new windows phone had at it’s launch.

  • Bajamin

I’m going to miss that BB battery life. 2-3 days on a single charge with light usage…ahh the old days.

    • tonkotsu

i also miss the days where my bb curve can go 3+ days under normal usage (yes this is with internet).. now, even with a galaxy note, its every other day. At least it isn’t as bad as my old one x.. every 6-8 hours..
