Samsung T699 Passes Through The FCC, Silly Name Left Out

The future named Samsung Galaxy S Blaze Q, now known as the SGH-T699 has just passed through the halls of the FCC. Complete with AWS bands, there is little doubt that this device will launch on T-Mobile’s network in the very near future. With a QWERTY display, 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4, and 720p display, the Galaxy S Blaze Q is certainly the next best QWERTY device on T-Mobile, already overshadowing the upcoming myTouch Q before either smartphone hits store shelves. We’re still hopeful for an August 15th launch, but until then, you can hit up the full FCC filing for all the FCC test results you could ask for.

I’m pretty sure this is going to do well. I have a lot of customers that want the power of a galaxy but don’t want to lose the comfort of a keyboard

    • Guest

That must be a galaxy far, far away because the similarities between this and the S3 are huge.  Now if they had an S3 with a keyboard…now that would be something!

      • Zach Mauch

Absolutely. When will we get a high end 4.5″+ screen phone with a keyboard? I’m hoping that when the 5 different nexus phones hit in Nov this will be an option. Maybe even a nexus with an SD card slot (unlikely, but can dream)

    • Psaux

I certainly want this. My guess is anyone else who is a serious business or technical (read that as heavy SSH) user will at least be pretty interested. I just hope they don’t do something stupid like remove the SD slot.

  • Zach Mauch

A 720p display would be such a waste if the screen was only 4 inches.  However, I’m guessing that will be the case.

    • Noor Mahmoud

That will be amazing for ppi though.

  • Deadeye37

I’m hoping that the display will be 4.3″.  It would be really nice to have a QWERTY phone with a slightly larger keyboard.  If it turns out to be the same size as the SGSIII, I would be interested also if it isn’t too much thicker.

This phone will blow the pants off of the myTouch Q.  So sad to see the myTouch line fall so low…

    • TKfromCLE

My year old Galaxy S blows the pants off of the myTouch Q. HTC leaving the line was the last straw.

With a QWERTY display”…pretty certain that’s just a typo, would you mind correcting it?

  • J-Hop2o6

So i’m guessing this is the Samsung Apex Q? I don’t want it, just wondering.

  • I have a blaze with a s3 chip and this is suppose to a s4 with hd  display . sounds nice but I rather on screen keyboard because those phones with one is usually bulky . if its thin an a nice size maybe

  • randomnerd_number38

I still don’t believe it’s a 720p display. Someone either made something up or there was a miscommunication. I also highly doubt it’s a S4 processor. But eh, we’ll see. I guess if you’re right and I’m wrong I’ll be very happily eating humble pie as I order the phone.

    • Zach Mauch

It’s gone through the FCC.  At this point the specs are likely set.

      • randomnerd_number38

Sure, but the specs reported so far aren’t official. Read the source- there’s nothing in the FCC filing about these specs. All the specs being reported are RUMOR. In fact, David was saying in the last article that it wasn’t known if the processor was S3 or S4. Then engadget made an article saying it was a S4- but using David’s original article as a source. Now David is reporting it’s a S4 too. In other words, the rumors are flying and getting more and more exaggerated. T-mobile already has a Galaxy S Blaze 4G, and it’s a S3 processor with a 4-inch 480×800 screen. If they’re using the same name for this phone but adding a Q at the end, doesn’t it make more sense that it would have the same specs with a qwerty keyboard?

        • WW

The FCC filing from a good while ago did specify a screen rez at 1280×720 (I think it was 720).

        • randomnerd_number38

What? Really? Thanks for letting me know. I’ll try searching around a bit, but any chance you could source that?

EDIT: It looks like there’s a rdf floating around that indicates it is indeed a 720p screen. Dang, looks like I’m eating humble pie a bit early. Now I’m a bit more excited- this pretty much makes this phone nearly equal in specs to a Galaxy Nexus. Looks like this will be my next phone for sure. Here’s hoping it does indeed ship with an S4 processor!

Is this the Note 2 or 1 for T-mobile because I just saw that AT&T is getting the galaxy note 2

    • ransack

You must be lost. This is the galaxy hyper fantastical blaze hd turbo Q. Lol I’m waitng for the galaxy ultra blaze hd 3d happy fun time

  • It will have a full number row on the keyboard too.  Haven’t had one of those on T-Mobile in a while.  MyTouch Q will be obsolete before it even launches.

  • WW

My wife just dropped her MyTouch 4G Slide today and broke the screen (damn, it’s not even paid for yet).
She insists on a keyboard (she doesn’t care about the dedicated number row but I love it) so I may have to buy this as a replacement whenever it goes on “zero down payment after rebate”.  I’d rather just spend $350 on another unlocked GNex but she has to have a KB.
Maybe one of the 5 next Nexi will have a keyboard.
Loving JB on my $400 GNex, BTW.
