(Updated) T-Mobile Branded Samsung Galaxy Note Hanging In The Wild, Looking Awesome

Updated: I’ve updated the post to include an image indicating Wi-Fi calling is pre-installed as well the 2500mAh battery.

We’re about to put aside any doubt any of you may have had surrounding the future availability of the Galaxy Note on T-Mobile. We’ve had two indications that the 5.3″ “phablet” was forthcoming — first through a revealing user agent string which helped us find the size of the screen and second, screenshots taken straight from the device itself. Now, we’re about to crack this case wide open with the very first “in the wild” shots of the Samsung Galaxy Note, T-Mobile branding and all.

I spot a number of T-Mobile apps including T-Mobile Name ID, T-Mobile Mall, T-Mobile TV and My T-Mobile. All of these apps are convincing, but nothing more-so than the branding riding right above the earpiece.

There is a whole gallery below just waiting for you to look through. Still no word on pricing or a release date, but you can bet we’re already looking for those pieces of intel.

  • Oh. HOly. Cow!!

  • Awesome!!!! I can’t wait to be selling these at work! I love T-Mobile!!!

    • Get_at_Me

       i hear ya!

  • Get_at_Me

Has to be very close to launching…is ATT’s exclusivity officially over now?

  • Terrence21295

  • Marino

Awesome to see T-Mobile starting to get some good phones.

  • Bryan Sandoval

1st all we need now is a firm release date and im good to go, my upgrade is next week but im holding out till we have a date for this baby

  • Dod9595

    Boom goes the Dynamite!!!!

  • David Rosen

ahhhh!!! dammit i had kinda moved on from the thought of jumping ship to get one… now i don’t know what to do… get the next “gen” of new phones coming out like the one/galaxys3 or get this because i always wanted one.

    • Get_at_Me

tough call…i’m in the same boat

      • David Rosen

AND it actually ships with 4.0 (4.0.3 to be exact) making it even better than the at&t version (sure it got the update but I still feel if the phone ships with a major version of android, that’s what it was tested for)

      •  well I have an ATT version and its phenomenal. The Screen is just breathtaking. I paid the full price for it and have been really happy with it and that’s not easy to do.

  • Jckool21

I’m gonna wait for the white one

  • Qbancelli

    Sold! And….

  • Qbancelli

    I want it in magenta!

    • Wilma Flintstone

  • If it’s not shipping with ICS then I’m not intrested.
Edit: nvm looks like it is shipping with ICS. Hmmmm… interested now, but do I really want to go back to Andriod?

    •  look at the Android Version in the pic, it IS ICS yo’ ; )

    • did you even see the pictures? it clearly says android 4.0

    • Mark Hennessey

      Looks like it’s at 4.0.3…

    • TopTechRep

      You sir are an idiot……..

  • Michael Hunter

Thank you for saving me from buying a ONE S!!!

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, my Summer has been MADE!

  • ObsceneJesster

I hope this doesn’t mean they won’t be interested in the GSIII

    • Get_at_Me

Doubtful…..this will make quite the filler device until the GS3 drops….If Samsung is smart, there wont be any exclusivity by any US carrier (simultaneous launch) and all carrier versions will be as similar as possible…processor, screen size, form factor etc

  • Papa_Smurf_59

Ditching my Sensation 4G the day this little bad boy is released. If I don’t have school, I’ll wait until the store opens.

    • wantnotenow

ditto (at least on first sentence)!

      • BigMixxx

Same here homie….sensation is out the door…

        • wtflolsmh

haha im right with you guys! Goodbye Sensation hello Galaxy Note!

    • Me & you are probably gonna do the same thing, because I have a HTC Sensation 4G too, & that’s what I plan on doing. Although that Galaxy Nexus is looking nice w/ that new price, but I think I really want the Note.

  • Vinos9711

The picture shows a 1500 mha batter? Wtf!

    • Baranauskasb

No, if you look in the back of most phones, there’s a tab that says the minimal battery possible. It should come as the standard AT&T size though.

      • Get_at_Me

         whats up Brian!!!!  its Wayde…lol

    • Get_at_Me

The GS2 says the same thing on the back near the battery despite having a 1850mAh battery

      • It’s a 2500mAh battery.

  • TopTechRep

    Yeahhh Buuddyy!!

  • Mark Hennessey

I don’t know if I’ll go with the Note or the GSIII. The lack of sd-card and sealed battery pretty much kill the One S for me. But if the finished product really has a 1500mAh battery, well, NO. It needs something north of 2000 mAh to drive the big, beautiful screen.

    • Whack

um more than likely it’s the same specs as the AT&T version.  It’s going to have a 2500 mah battery.

      • Mark Hennessey

I effin’ hope so. But that picture… I don’t put anything past T-Mobile’s ability to spike the ball on the 20 yard line…

      • The finished product has a 2500mAh battery. I have a shot I’ll upload.

  • So this thing is $299 on AT&T so we are looking at $349 after MIR on T-Mobile.

    • Papa_Smurf_59

Doubt it. Probably the price of the GS2 knocks down to 199.99 and this shoots to 249 or 279.

      • lol. No way it will be cheaper then what AT&T is selling for.

      • MarcusDW

Odds are TMO will match the $299 price.

  • BigMixxx

    OH HELL YES!…there pinky is…

    • MarcusDW

      I’d hit.

  • Jojodancer73

    Will the note have ics?

    • Jlucky881

Android version 4.0.3 kind of speak for itself. The ice cream is all over this baby.

  • Goukisan

dont you mean right below the ear piece?

  • cosmo10292

Ahhh a white t-mo note rooted running ics?? Sounds WONDERFUL!!!!

  • Jamesj

how in the world is that a phone…so huge.

Anyhow, a lot of people have been asking for this…and the tmo community is really happy about this..so it makes me happy too.

I will still be waiting/hoping for a new nexus to come to tmobile this october

    • Naldonnis

You could always get the unlocked version for 399 on Google. That’s actually pretty cheap

      • Jamesj

nahh, not when the new one comes out in october. In the fall is when tmobile is going to get some great phones. trust me on that one

        • nathan118

I heard that Fall 2016 they’re going to get some GREAT phones!

    • 21stNow

I’m a Bluetooth user myself.  But there have been a couple of times that I needed to answer a call and didn’t have the earpiece on.  By the second time that happened to me, it felt like a normal phone.  I’m sure any onlookers thought that I looked weird, though.  Who cares?  I’ve got a beast of a phone!

  • UMA_Fan

The BEST part of this news is that it looks like the tmobile version is shipping WITH ice cream sandwhich

    • MarcusDW

Yup, and I’m sure this has something to do with the “delayed” GS2 ICS update.

  • Lani

I would guess this model would not show up in tmo stores for at least a month. Especially if they are releasing the HTC one-S tomorrow.

    • Wilma Flintstone

But then again Tmobile has released 2 phones within 2-3 weeks of each other before.  I forgot which two it was but they completely killed the sales for the lesser device when they did that.

  • Scarfacemario

This made my day but now if they also sell the white one that will make my year! Thanks Tmo I will be first in line for this big bad boy

  • Johntajacobs

That thing is huge ! My GS2 looks tiny lol

  • TGuy

The other day I saw a guy talking on hisNote, looked real stupid with a HUGE tablet sticked to his ear!!

    • Realcool2000

Oh I know that guy, he was just on the phone selling his stock in Apple that he bought in 1985……he may look stupid but man is he rich!

    • Grook

why you looking at other dudes? You don’t like something then keep it movin.

  • MarcusDW

Million dollar question is, what is the processor?  I see no reason for it not to have a Qualcomm S4 in it.

I’m just glad that we will have plenty of time to decide between this and the GS3.

    • BigMixxx

Wouldn’t be much different from the att version.

This really is a marker for t mobile being for real about recovery……

      • MarcusDW

I dunno man the ATT Note has a S3 MSM8660 which* doesn’t say DC-HSPA+ but simply HSPA+ where as the One S sports an S4
        MSM8260 which says DC-HSPA+.

It would make absolutely no sense for T-Mobile to come late to the game with a Note and have the “old” processor found in the Galaxy S II.

        • Samk123

Didnt you guys read the other leaks where it had an S3 processor because it shows adreno 220.  Its somwhere here on tmonews

        • MarcusDW

Yep you who right all the information is in one of the posts about the phone. Its got the same MSM8660 as the ATT version.

I’m curious about the DC-HSPA+ though.

        • Samk123

Since its a Qualcomm chip it will be easy for them to  put in DC-HSPA+ as Tmobile really wants all newer smartphones capable of  42mbps.

Most like they are going to swap out the LTE in favor of the 42mbps.  I really want this phone but i keep hearing rumors of a Galaxy Note 2 coming out late this year or early next year.  Most likely update would be super amoled + screen and quad core processor.  I’d be upset to have a phone for only a couple months and have a newer version come out later.

        • You can have both DC-HSPA+ and LTE on the same device. The new iPad uses a similar Qualcomm radio with the same capabilities.

        • MarcusDW

Is Wiki wrong about the 8660?  Because it does not show DC-HSPA+ for the chip.

          S3 8660:
          GSM (GPRS, EDGE), W-CDMA/UMTS (HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA+), MBMS,CDMA2000 (1xRTT, 1xEV-DO Rel.0/Rev.A/Rev.B, 1xEV-DO MC Rev.A)

          S4 8260:
          GSM (GPRS, EDGE), W-CDMA/UMTS (HSDPA, HSUPA, DC-HSPA+ Cat.28, MBMS,CDMA2000 (1xRTT, 1xEV-DO Rel.0/Rev.A/Rev.B, 1xEV-DO MC Rev.A),TD-SCDMA

        • niftydl

No S4 = no buy. I am sorry but if with that resolution it seems shortsighted to purchase a phone now that does not have the new SoC. I am sure ICS helps the performance a bit, but it can not make up for better power management on newer generation chips.

  • Siilk7412

Great. Now I’m not sure what to do.
Google is selling the nexus on play!
    The gal3 is coming
    And now the tmo note!!
I Gotta do some hard thinking!

  • MarcusDW

Props to Mr. David Beren for the exclusive shots!!

  • UMA_Fan

Any word on a white version?

  • TrUsTmEi’MaNuRsInGsTuDeNt

David, any idea what the processor might be?

  • Psaux

Not to nitpick, but that’s _below_ the earpiece, not ”
riding right above the earpiece.”  Nice shots though.

  • Oh boy…TeleNav…

    • Wilma Flintstone

Don’t knock TeleNav.  I use that all the time for… Uh… Hmmm…  Nevermind, proceed with the TeleNav knocking.

  • My upgrade is in August so it’ll be between the One-S, Galaxy-Note, and Galaxy S-III

Who am I kidding, I’m gonna go with the S-III

  • James

Wow. Its probably a great device, and I’d love to see Galaxy tableyts get those styluses, but I just can’t see myself using a phone that size as a phone. If I was into blutooths, maybe.

  • Pig Vomit

    No sign of Wifi Calling…..sigh…..

    • JoeyKhache

Wifi calling doesn’t have an app on the newer android devices. The setting itself is in the wireless and networks option.

  • Ray

David you just made my day. TY

    • I am to please!

      • Sidekicker89

        he means “aim” ;)

        • Loopylogic

          That was hilarious.

        • Realcool2000

He was just watching “Popeye” that’s all. He am what he am……

  • Jeremy Carlton

    My pants fit funny now.

  • Chefjamie

Definitely My next phone root and get rid of some of the bloat and it will be perfect for me!

  • Sidekicker89

Just wondering but why can’t they make LTE ready phones for T-Mobile since they are heading that way anyway. The Viper for Sprint can run on LTE but Sprint doesn’t have LTE yet.. wouldn’t it make sense for T-Mobile to have LTE ready phones and still be HSPA+42 capable too?

    • Get_at_Me

T-Mobile’s LTE rollout is a bit further away than Sprint’s….it would be nice if they were proactive, but they prob think its too soon….looking at it from a marketing point of view, they’ll probably choose some high profile device as their first LTE capable one

      • Sidekicker89

Hmm true, I just don’t want myself and many other customers having to upgrade again :-/

Anyone wanna buy my white galaxy s2?

    • Sidekicker89

what color is it? how much?

      • Deff

my guess would be white. *cough*

      • trife

        You serious, brah?

      • Wilma Flintstone

         It’s without color.

      • Realcool2000

        Yo, he said its White.

  • Damn, and I just bought the AT&T version last week.  Looks like I’ll have 2 Galaxy Notes

    • fixxmyhead

Wtf why do u need two of the same phone?

      • Realcool2000

Hey, if Lonnie Brintely wants to have two of the same, then Lonnie Brintely will have two of the same phone! Ya heard!

Just joking around guys, but seriously that’s the coolest name I’ve heard in a while. Lonnie Brintely, Brixton Armi, Morris Casebeet……all G’s in my book.

  • Kizo Inc

This could be a Tmobile UK G note

    • Sidekicker89

I don’t think T-Mobile U.K has the same built in apps as T-Mobile USA

    • TMoFan

Don’t think so. TMo UK has a few more dots to the left of the T.

    • T-Mobile UK doesn’t get custom devices with SGH-Txx9. T-Mobile UK just offers the international model with a custom firmware package.

  • the Note is just too big for me.

    • JNawaz

That’s what she sa………. Oooh, That is a BIG PHONE.

  • Bleacherbums1

    David any suggestions :

    Galaxy nexus
    Galaxy note
    HTC one x

  • Bumbklaatt

Still in all of theae pictures only one bar of signal on it, as I type this in on an ATT note with one bar of 4G T-mobile signal.

  • Exile_One

i hope it comes in white

  • josue cifuentes

the nerd inside me just had a nerdgasm lolol

    • Jose Hernandez

       Good lord, that was funny!!!!

  • TMoFan

The Note is not for me, but this is a great score for T-Mobile. I’m happy to have it in Magenta’s lineup.

    • trife

My thoughts exactly.  Definitely a move in the right direction as far as devices w/ name recognition outside of T-Mobile.

  • Ford_Thundercougarfalconbird

Damn you David! I just drooled all over my keyboard!!!!!

  • Bleacherbums1

David go to ” the verge” they got post of a new sg3 but to me it looks like a new galaxy note…

    Go now ….lol

    • Bleacherbums1

      Or engadget

    • Bleacherbums1

Why would the “new SG3 ” running ICS have 4 cap buttons if new android devices running ICS has 3 …???

  • mreveryphone

If they don’t upgrade the processor then this phone is dead. I have the att version on tmo, flashed the 4G radio and it works nice but the lag is there. It’s almost like the processors can’t keep up with the screen tech.

    • Get_at_Me

it’ll be interesting to see which processor it has..i’m expecting S3, but hoping for S4

      • Wilma Flintstone

It’ll have the 4S processor. ;)  Lol jk

    • Nikolai T

“4G Radio”. Do you mean I can use T-Mobile’s 3G/HSPA+ with the AT&T version?

      • jonathan3579

Yes you can. There are two methods but both involve flashing the GS2 or Blaze’s modems.

        • Nikolai T

Nice! Any stability and/or speed issues?

        • mreveryphone

The radios are flawless for me very stable. I downloaded a couple of them and tested them and they both work great. The blaze radio gives me the best ping stability and speed, even when I get around tmo dead spots I still have a edge signal and it quickly goes back to 4G. I’m testing the ics rom right now and so far so good a lot of the lag and stuttering is gone. Maybe the tmo note running ics won’t be that bad after all!

        • Grook

I bought a note from att, they somehow unlocked and i use it with tmobiel except i have no idea how to root this phone and install the 4g radios. Can someone please send me or explain step by step what exactly a newbie has to do to get anything faster then edge on tmobile. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP

        • I also have the AT&T Note running on both T-Mobile’s HSPA+ and I can just switch back the AT&T sim card and I am back on AT&T’s HSPA+ and their LTE Network. After you root and flash the T-Mobile Radio you can just switch back and forth the sim card.
PS – You have to root the phone, unlock it and then flash the T-Mobile radio. Took all but 5 minutes to do and I am getting around 12 MB down and 2.5 MB up on the T-Mobile Network.

  • JBLmobileG1

Now this would be a nice phone to own but I like to protect my phones with a good case… I could only imagine it trying to fit in my pocket with one let alone without one. Anyone know if Otterbox makes one for it and if it adds a lot of case?

  • I would still pick up this phone, I have the AT&T running on T-Mobile but would grab this baby in a heart beat. I am just a complete geek when it comes to good phones. Come on T-Mobile, bring this baby home.

    • BeHonest

be honest, what exactly do you do on your phone that you need one this big for?

      • Derail Doax

Everything I could ever dream of…ALL AT ONCE.

      • One

Use it as a smartphone? Ya know?

Browse, watch movies, take notes, draw something…

      • Grook

I thought the same thing till i recived one as a preesent and planned to trade it in for a gs2 on tmobile, since 4g doesnt work with my att note running on tmobile. This phone turned out to be such a beast that i couldnt get myself to return it, YOU CANT go down in sceen size after having this for a week, everything else just looks antiquated. GIve it a try thne see for youself

        • Spanky

One of my coworkers got the Note, and it’s just a bit too cumbersome for my tastes. I use a Galaxy Nexus, and it’s display (4.65″) is already a bit too much for my tastes. I like to be able to hold the phone with one hand while swiping the notification bar with my thumb, and it’s difficult enough with the GNex. Don’t get me wrong, the Note seems to be a great device, but it’s not for me.

        • Jorj-X-McKie

The size is a trade off… if the S Pen doesn’t make you drool, and if you have great eyesight, then a smaller phone is probably the best move for folks. I don’t think the S Pen would be useful on anything smaller, and would be surprised if it offered on a sub five inch phone.

      • One Note and remote connecting and monitoring my servers for work.

  • Khalints

that’s it all other phones are obsolete

    take my money plz

  • Zero4play

I was just told that it is coming to T-Mobile the last week in May from a VERY reliable source.

  • Phozfate

    Id buy a white note

  • Wilma Flintstone

Welp good people, there is hope for The Magenta Mollywagon after all.   I will be looking into this device as well as the GS3 to hold me until Tizen devices come out.  Early May is looking extravagant.

    • Deaconclgi

Still holding the Open Source banner I see. :)

It’s a shame what happened to Maemo and Meego. Hopefully Tizen will be what “Maego” could have been.

After personally being let down by step 5 of 6 and then 6 being Six Feet Under, I am watching Tizen from afar.

My N900 has been put on punishment…in my nightstand lol.

For the App hungry masses, no matter how great Maemo and Meego were, how great Tizen COULD be, the masses will flock to their favorite app churning OS.

For Tizen to be a mass market success, they will have to secure developers like mad and bring out high quality devices at affordable prices ALONG with Carrier deals and subsidies.

The N900 lacked the things above, the N9 to a lesser degree. I hope the best of success for the Tizen teams.

Back to the Galaxy Note. Nice device and I am glad to see more devices like these come to T-Mobile. More options, the better. My wife may have gotten a Note instead of the GSII if it was available around the same time or soon thereafter.

      • Wilma Flintstone

You know I’m all for trying out new OS’es.

With that said, I agree with alot that you posted. Dev support is key in being successful. I wanna see how Tizen does in the first year.

Of course it won’t have 100,000 apps in the first year, if it did, that’d be alot of crapware most likely.

I was peed off about the MeeGo situation but Tizen seems to have more promise seeing as how it’s a joint project between Intel (who just released their first phone) and Samsung (who needs not be introduced).

Knowing Samsung, they have been trying to get Bada off the ground for a while but with the new funding that they have made from their success with Android, they can do just that by fusing Bada with Tizen which I believe they said they were doing already.

HTML5 is the language of most devices now and Tizen uses HTML5 so that should work out pretty well.

Needless to say, I’ll be watching the Tizen Conference May 7-9 to see what Tizen is all about.

  • carl444

cool welcome but I am now a happy galaxy nexus owner and forever

  • mreveryphone

Tell me more about this Tizen Wilma

    • Wilma Flintstone

Well, not really much is known about it yet but the Tizen Conference will be from Nay 7th through the 9th and alot of things shall be shown then.

But from what I do know, basically Tizen is a joint project between one of the best chip manufacturers (Intel) and one of the best phone companies (Samsung).

It is an Open Source project that is based in HTML 5 coding Language which means that you will be able to port alot of apps to it easily.

Basically after Nokia left Intel for Windows Phone, Intel went and found a new partner Samsung and joined with them to help with MeeGo. MeeGo was soon renamed Tizen and switched from a QT based Coding language to HTML5 which was a good move in my opinion as HTML5 is more future proof.

Tizen is pretty much a Combination of MeeGo, Bada and HTML5. I’m not too familiar witg Bada but from what I’ve seen, it looks like a combination of Symbian 3 and Android. Couple that with the Full Linux MeeGo and thats the makings of one OS with serious potential.

The SDK and Source code is freely available for download on their site (tizen(dot)org) and more info is there in better detail.

I’ll be watching the event May 7-9 to see what Samsung and Intel Devices are planned for this year and to get a Better look at the OS and it’s possibilities.

      • mreveryphone

        Cool thanks for the explanation

  • *fap*fap *fap*fap
    *fap*fap *
I’m so sorry, I had a long witty response on how great this is, I just looked at the screen a-

  • Antwain Wilson

Finally something for an Sensation owner to “upgrade” too.

    • Derail Doax

Hmm. Funny you say that. Because as a Sensation owner myself I’ve considered jumping to the Amaze. Its the same phone I love with more internal storage, faster processor, more ram, faster radio. Yet still has the removable battery and micro SD card slot, unlike the One S.

I look at this Gnote as a “:-/ Sort of want…” Because I think I’m going to save my upgrade till HTC releases something that’s a competitor to the Gnote. I want Gnote screen size with HTC build quality.

      • ILL Thief

The Amaze is DEFINITELY not something to upgrade to. It uses the same processor as the Sensation but just barely clocked higher. Slightly more usable ram doesn’t matter much. Seriously just root your Sensation and install a custom rom. The Amaze has almost no rom community which makes it like a downgrade to someone like me.

I believe this year T-Mobile will have a good lineup of phones since they kinda took a break last year it seemed like. Verizon and AT&T dominated there..not it can be T-Mobile and Sprints turn.

        • Yeah my best friend as the Amaze, & I was not compelled to follow her lead to upgrade to that, I just was a bit excited about the camera.

        • Derail Doax

My Sensation is already rooted and I’m running the CM7.1 alpha on it. I’ve tried out other roms but I have special love for Cyanogenmod for some reason. The lack of s-off was what really turned me off of the Amaze but now I’ve read s-off is doable. I dunno, I get a boner from these 42Mbps radio T-Mobile phones, I saw a Galaxy Blaze getting a 22Mbps while right next to it my Sensation could only pull a 5 Mbps. That and more built in storage. The Amaze still seems like a good phone on spec sheets anyways. I might upgrade by buying one on Craigslist.

      • Dandre832

If you are from the us HTC won’t be releasing anything till they get there license to.

  • exibits mans

Is there any pricing information available?

  • is that ICS??? FTW!!!

    • Jake

yep, and still ugly as sin.  I thought ICS was supposed to actually improve the interface?

  • This is a done deal, because having a note already, I know what to expect.  Power, performance, beauty, all in one device.  I’m ready.

    Note, Check.
    Next up, G4X

    • Bleacherbums1

Tmotech…..got some inside scoop you wanted to share?

      • TMOTECH

As I have said in the past, I get my company news here before they tell us. I am only  going by the rumors I see…

        • Bleacherbums1

          Tough choice here….

          GALAXY NEXUS
          GALAXY NOTE
HTC ONE X (unlocked for att that works well with tmo 4g)

        • HTC One X for AT&T does not work on T-Mobile’s HSPA+ network.

    • Bleacherbums1

      Oh that’s right …lol

    • I had a G2X and mine was slow. First I thought it was the unit so I exchanged it. Still was really slow for no reason. I ended up going back to my Samsung Galaxy 4g. Did the G2X have issues with being slow for no reason?

    • TMoFan

Please make it happen tmotech! After reading the rumor here, I can’t stop thinking about it. :-)

  • For me, I just don’t see the point of having the Samsuck Note.  Especially when I already have a iPad HD you know… a REAL tablet, that I carry when I have a bag with me. I don’t need anything in my pocket to be bigger than either my unlocked 4s, Sensation or Amaze, and my Amaze already weighs me down and bulky, so I rarely use & will be gettin rid of that soon for the One S.

I would not recommend the Galaxy note. Get a real tablet that ppl will compliment you on, or hold out for the iPhone 5.

    • Grook

You are really brain dead. Who are you to tell people what they should carry or own? I have an ipad and IT NEVER LEAVES MY HOUSE, BECAUSE IT IS BULKY AND WEIGHS ME DOWN, THUS IT STAYS AT HOME.

      • Agree with you on that Grook. Rapist said him self that he would bring his “real tablet” iPad HD with him when he carries his bag with him. Also kind of funny he called the iPad a tablet because Apple doesn’t even call it a tablet.

        • Jorj-X-McKie

Insulting tone aside, Grook makes some good points. I have an iPad 3 and a Note… The tablet stays home… Waaaaay too bulky and distracting to carry around and use in public… its case makes it even bulkier, but naked, the thing is too slippery to carry around. Now that little Note, it just goes with me everywhere and totally just works, even with Gingerbread. It is slightly large, true… but its thinness mitigates that issue mostly. It’s a necessary trade off for having a useful sized screen. Oh yeah, the S Pen…. :-)

        • MarcusDW

          It’s a, what was it? a “post-PC”? lol

      • Bleacherbums1

I don’t think the red car even works for him …..LMAO

      • Wow! U mad bro? Read again… I only take my iPad out when I have a bag with me.
“you must be one of those guys that gets a red car just to try to sleep with girls”

        • MarcusDW

So now you have the weight of a “real tablet” AND a man-purse.

You just got slayed by Grook.

        • Grook

        • He’s one of those guys who carry a pocket book. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

        • HeLLO

U mad bro?.Should of known you where mentally challenged oh well I can’t blame you now for your ignorance.

    • HeLLO

Seriously you just prove more and more how stupid the iSheep are.I wonder since when was the Note considered a tablet.Stupidity of an iSheep at it’s finest.Who the hell buys a phone or tablet just to be complimented? what a joke only a stupid iSheep will do that.Pathetic and sad.

    • Guester

      no one cares.

  • Texas Black

i may have to give up my international version for this ….so i can get 4g speed and warranty …..or buy tis one out right ..hmmmm

  • That phone is huge!

  • terryjohnson16

Now, people will have a choice between the GS2’s 4.5″ screen and the 5.3″ GSN.

    • BoricuaBoy88

Or the Note’s 5.3in screen and the GSIII 4.8in screen. Also, I saw on youtube that Samsung has created an enlarged stylus designed specifically for the GSIII, so It might be the better option, seeing as how you sacrifice nothing but .5in of screen real estate for an all-around better device in the GSIII. I was looking forward to getting the Note on T-Mo, but ever since the GSIII was revealed, I was curious. And the reveal of the new Stylus all but convinced me.

      • BoricuaBoy88

Oh yeah, and the GSIII is getting a flip cover as well, it’s exactly like the Note’s, just smaller.

  • It took the Galaxy Note 8 months to barely sell 6 million units?…. Worldwide? LMAO!!! The iPhone and iPad does those numbers in its sleep, seperately, in a major city alone. Samsuck fails again!!

    • black krack

Um what did the Samsung galaxy s2 sale? Pretty sure the presales alone murdered apple sales. How can you put one product against another company’s 2 products in sales… Put the galaxy tab and galaxy s2 up against the Iphone and iPad. you Must’ve forgotten apples motto. “if you can’t beat em… Sue em.” Lol

      • stevejobbed

@black krack: Not sure what numbers your looking at. A quick google search will tell you that the Galaxy sII has sold about 20 million units worldwide since its April of 2011 Launch. Meanwhile it was just released a few days ago that Apple has sold over 35 million iphones in just the second quarter of this year.

    • ricky ferrer

if i take a giant dump im talking about a long one and slap an apple logo on it  it would also sell 6 million. people buy brands and you sound like one of them ISHEEP

    • HeLLO

Not only is your  username pathetic but also the fact that you laughed at your own post is even more pathetic.Wow typical iSheep showing how stupid they are pathetic I tell you.

RAY&VASHDAD: I had the Note for about a week, & once AT&T’s monthly fees set in on me, I returned it!…I couldn’t even enjoy it fully! I came begging tmo to take me back!…So i definitely can’t wait for the Note on tmobile! I can fall in love again!

  • I have the Note from AT&T hacked to work on T-Mobile HSPA+ Network and pulling down over 10 MB during the day. Saying that I would still buy the T-Mobile brand because I support my Carrier. This is a kick ass device, very fast and the screen, unbelievable, you may think it’s too big but after using it for a few days it is just impossible to pick up a smaller phone. It feels perfect. It’s a great phone and what I really like about the Samsung brand is it is very hackable.

    • lani

How did you hack it? Where did you find the instructions? I want to get an AT&T Note to use on Tmo. I am thinking it’ll be a year before we see a Tmobile Note version.

  • Bleacherbums1

It would be a sweet deal when and if this phone gets a realese date for tmo and tmo themselves bring back the trade in YOUR old smartphone deal this sure will help a lot of peeps . I’m sure this phone won’t be cheap.

  • StephenStreet

The T-Mobile device looks like a terrific telephone.
Alternatively I would suggest that bigger is not better.
Also the problem with having a telephone and notepad together has proven to be a major headache.
Often I have talked to someone with a touch screen and we have been disconnected because they
have touched the screen to their cheek or changed hand positions while talking to me.
Contrary to the TV ads where a unified device using woman is surrounded by prizes she has won,
by deceit no less, using a “telephone” this type of use is a pain in the glutes.
I purchased a Galaxy Player 5.0 and quite happy using that independently from a T-Mobile telephone.
There is no need to upgrade to a new telephone.
I am not locked into some two year contract to use the Player.
The screen resolution is as clear as crystal so I can watch movies and read the smallest texts.
It is small enough to fit in my pocket so I have it with me even when I wear dress pants.
Since it has WiFi capacity it is getting to the point that I wonder at the need for a telephone at all.
Lots of places have WiFi and I can Skype anyone in the U.S. for One Cent per minute.
Using Google Voice enables me to receive incoming messages for free.
The justification for buying a clunky oversized, overpriced notepad/telephone with a monthly
    telephone bill just melts away.
Even someone with a minimal income can afford a one time purchase and still be able
to access world wide information and contact friends without being a slave to monthly payments.

    • capncrunk

Old man shaking his fist at the kids on his lawn. LOL

      • StephenStreet

        Apple Crap

  • Mark

I’ve had my At&t note for a couple of months now. Best mobile device I ever used.

  • Guest

GN got the right size. but it’s just too big on your ear when answering calls.
it has to have a bt headset that u can pull from the back of the phone to answer calls. then u can click it back in after  use. like a stylus headset.

    • Muhammad

That is actually a very good idea. Just a little bt headset that snaps onto the bottom or something. That would really be cool. Have it just slide into the usb port on the bottom.

  • Lionangel1

    My NEXT phone!!!

  • Babyboyluvsfootball

The Galaxy Note would dominate the market if the other carriers would hurry up and grab it, its already sold 6 million and that’s just on AT&T! Imagine it going to Verizon! Man watching NFL MOBILE ON THAT BIG BEAUTIFUL SCREEN!

    • Sieben Macaw

It’s a nice phone, but sadly, watching any videos is impractical outside the house as you’d go through the pathetic data allotment in what, 20 minutes?

      • unless you slam in a 64gb mSDXC in it and DL 720p movies so thats around about 38 2gb 1280×720 movies

because its this or the S3

  • Rose

I hope this comes out by May of next month! My upgrade is soon and I really want a new phone! I have the Samsung Galaxy S2 on my mind, but I want the Note the most. A friend that works at T-Mobile told my mom that there is a new phone coming out in May and its going to better then any phone they have! And i’m hoping its the Note!

    • Duh!

Read your sentence “I hope this comes out by May of next month!” lol. Is there a May of last month?

  • luis alvarez

i wold like to have this phone too but i bet this is just the uk version take alook at the galaxy next to it is not even the us version what a shame hopes still up anyway still got two more months on my contract.

    • Dremcc9

I think it is American because you see the four buttons and not one big button in the middle

  • You see that one dot before the  *T-Mobile*****, and the wifi calling. Thats all tmobile usa. ***T-Mobile***** is the uk, and they dont have wifi calling. So get your money ready. It’s coming to pocket near you.

  • Mateusz1

Should I wait for T879 or buy atts i717. Will there be any difference?

    • Dremcc9

I don’t know but I’m mad because I switched from tmobile to att for the note

      • Ssleve168

      • CactoesGel

LMAO I did too, although I use 3 different phone numbers. Two with T-Mo, now 1 with ATT because of the Note.

      • Moth477

I had switched to AT&T in March but then someone here called me a “weak fool.” So I returned it. lol. Anyway, I returned because reception was horrid at work and home so I couldn’t enjoy it. I am glad to see T-Mobile is getting it. I’d be hating it if I was with AT&T now.

  • Islickgirl

so the note will be with t-mobile

  • Ssleve168

    Hurray tmo! Your the best!

  • Moth477

If this phone comes out, T-Mobile better price it right. The Blaze is over priced. IMO the best price point for the G-Note on T-mobile is $600 off contract and $250 on contract.

    • Gwapo

Gnote is $649 in At&t so Tmo might sell this for $649 or $700 :0)

  • shadowdude777

Does it use Exynos or Snapdragon?

    • Y314K

It’s suppose to be the same as the ATT’s Note…

And by the info around seems it should come with the same old S3 snapdragon…

      • shadowdude777

Well that’s a shame, you could have gotten an AT&T Note and flashed it all this time anyway. The Snapdragon S3 is too weak to bother with nowadays. Exynos dual-core would have been acceptable, but it would have been nice if they had redesigned it with a Snapdragon S4 or, better, a quad-core Exynos. I would have waited a few months for them to make that.

        • Y314K

It’s the S3 if the pics from the post above is right…  And there is no reason why they wouldn’t be…

A S4 or newer Exynos would of been perfect… But it’s gonna be a SGII with a bigger screen, advance stylist & maybe faster HSPA+…

So gonna have to take a closer look at the TMobile SGIII instead…

  • battlecry

Im in a rock and a hard place right now,    I just recently got the ATT GNote and am with in my 30 days of returning it. my monthly is around 99.99, with 750 min 3gb data.  The only reason i would back out now is if Tmobile had a cheaper monthly plan, or Sprint picks it up with truly unlimted 99.99…. This phone kicks, But there are some slight issues ive seen. when im at work i have Full bars and my 4G is illuminated showing me its got a hard on. when the phone is idle and i go to send a pic or hand written message and Reload my 6 emails for push, it seems like it doesnt go anywhere, my picture will just sit there with a working circle, and the email just says reloading, i left it alone for like an hour, and it was on the same shhh. i had to restart the GNote twice because of that. my first payment for the device and security deposit (for bad credit) was 520.00 btw. 150.00 for security, but ill get that back… Should i keep it orrrr, Return it?

    • Climber42104bg

For $99.99 you can get unlimited texts, calls, and 5GB of data.

    • WW

For that kind of out of pocket $, buy it outright from TMo and go on a Value Plan.

It’d be unlimited voice & txt and 5Gb data for $75/month with no data overage charges (or $65 for 500 minutes) plus $15/month installments for the phone (if you choose not to pay for the phone in full) for 20 months (out of your 24 month contract) then down to $75/month after the phone’s paid off.

Of course that doesn’t take into account any potential security deposits.  And how’s TMo’s coverage in your area?

If the phone is under $520, again, buy it outright and go on no contract monthly 4g plan. $70/month for 5Gb data or $60/month 2Gb data (still no data overage charges) and unlimited voice+txt.

Your out of pocket is the same and save $30/month for the service and you can leave or change service any time you want.

If I needed just one phone I’d definitely go that route but with 5 lines, the Value Plan contract is the best value for me.

  • Y314K

Wifi Calling would be awesome news if TMo would have smaller family plans(under 1K minutes) & Wifi Calling didn’t count against u’r minutes….  No point for it if u’r in a good signal area…  And sucks to have to double pay…  Minutes + Wifi…

Anyway…  Seems choices will really expand for Android fans…

    Play Google Market – GSM HSPA+ Samsung Nexus $400 – Available now…

TMo – TMobile version of ATT’s Note with Ice Cream Sandwich – Maybe available by the end of May…

Samsung announcing the Galaxy III on May 13th…  Depending what the TMo version of this phone comes with it might have twice the GPU & more cores then the SGNote…  And it might be only 0.7 inches smaller then the Note…

Possible HTC X available on TMobile once ATT’s exclusivity runs out…

    Choices, Choices, Choices…

    • Khalints

Dude you can add free wifi calling to your plan..I have it. When I use wifi calling all my minutes are free.

Go add it to your account and see for yourself! It’s called “free wifi calling”

Quote: “T-Mobile Free Wi-Fi Calling gives you unlimited Wi-Fi minutes, unlimited
high speed data and when travelling internationally free calls back to
the USA – all at no additional cost.”

      • Y314K

K…  Got it…  Once that feature is added to the line…  It becomes free on post pay accounts…  Sounds good…  To bad it doesn’t work with Data…  Using u’r 5GB Data to make calls instead of using minutes…

Just wish they had smaller Family Plans…  We are on the 1K minute plan(Suppose to be the smallest)…  And that is way more then needed for our 3 lines…  A 400-500 minute Family Plan with Wifi Calling on the smartphone lines with would be a great sweet spot…  It has me contemplating moving to a Monthly4G or PrePay option once the cancelling fee does down to $100 a line…  Would love to just stay post paid but I feel we are just wasting money…

        • Wi-Fi Calling does not work over 4G data. It only works when the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network. It doesn’t count against either your data or your minute allotment when connected to Wi-Fi. Your battery life at least doubles when using primarily Wi-Fi since the cellular radio is turned off when Wi-Fi Calling is active.

Moving to Monthly4G will remove the free Wi-Fi Calling option, though.

  • Udubb

    From Engadget’s posting of this story;
“who wouldn’t love to take this monster for a proper ride on the little network that could?

  • bws

did they realize samsung can probably decipher those bar codes….

  • Burke985

Wi-Fi calling is the best feature on any phone of any carrier period. Thats what keeps me with Tmo if they get rid of that then they get rid of me , who cares if it counts toward your minutes or not im 50 miles out in the gulf and the only person with a working phone

  • Steve Gavrilles

    wifi calling ftw!

  • Yvrcouve

Why does the battery compartment show 3.7 V 1500mA battery (Not a very powerful battery for this device), but the battery itself shows 2500mA?

    • Guest

What it says in the battery compartment is the minimum battery requirement… this device with a 1500 mA battery will die super fast.. that’s why they decided to put the 2500 mA…

    • Iwsdata

Don’t confuse mA with mAh. Current draw for charging is listed in mA (milliampere), battery capacity is listed in mAh (milliampere hours).

  • steveb944

Wow that is a huge screen in comparison to the GS2 is it? That is EXTREMELY tempting as I love screen real estate with my Amaze.

  • mark

I just checked with customer service I have been with T mobile 11 years now,I am really tired of seeing everyone else with the latest phones. If T mobile does not get back on track it will be time to move on.

  • Erii

I was wondering if there are any females considering or already have the galaxy note? It looks really good and productive.

    • Tina

Yes, planning to buy one, and I have seen some females with it too.

  • Cody

My father was interested in buying this phone and he turned to a friend who is high up in Tracfone. Our friend told us that according to samsung  this phone is indeed coming to Tmobile in June. Dunno how legit that is. But I’m waiting to get my dad’s Galaxy S2 and he’s getting the Note.

    • I hope you are right buddy. Thanks for the insight. I really want the Galaxy Note to hit T-Mobile already.

  • any date yet? I’m about to be eligible for a new phone, and I’ve set my eyes on this one

  • NoteWanter

Bye Bye Sprint, too bad you are going to lose a 13 year customer because you don’t have what I want – a Note!!

  • Nicegypt

My upgrade in July. Going to get it and sell my GN. it’s time to change and own this monster. :)

  • David – www.hatpit.com

All I have to say is I currently have the T-Mobile MyTouch 4g for a year and a half and it’s still ok….. but I’m not as fascinated by it as I was was at first…. I guess that is normal for aging technology. I also have a Samsung Galaxy 8.9 tablet and I love it but it can sometimes be too big and awkward to hold…. especially if I’m laying in bed. After seeing and holding a G-Note in Best Buy recently I must say I really believe this phone could be the perfect phone/tablet device all in one for me. I will sell my sweet ass on a street corner if I have to in order to get this phone if T-Mobile does get it.

  • any news on the release date yet? or is there any HDMI out? I kind of like the HDMI out thing now since I started using the LG G2x

    • BoricuaBoy88

The release date has yet to be revealed. And yes, the Note does have HDMI out with the use of an MHL adapter.

  • Jerheico

do you guys/anybody know is this tmobile version is running on EXYNOS unlocked/retail version prcessor or the budget one like at&t?

  • balde

I like the Samsung not book

  • xkrrms

hmmm still no official updates on Galaxy note? Galaxy SIII is coming out real soon, they better hurry and release the Note..and also, there are loads of sites having different opinions on whether T-Mo note will have Exonys or the Snapdragon, It would be really unreasonable to put Snapdragon since T-Mo does not even have LTE….Please Exonys!

    • BoricuaBoy88

Until you realize that the Exynos processor cannot operate on either HSPA+42 or LTE, so all of a sudden, the Snapdragon seems much more likely…The question is which model, the S3 or S4? The leaked pictures are of a test device, so it might not be the final product.

      • xkrrms

oh.. in that case…I hope for the best CPU that works…but the most important would be the release date its almost been a month since the leak…come on TMobile

  • BoricuaBoy88

It will be limited to the same network speed as the GSII, HSPA+21, because that’s all that the Snapdragon S3 can support. The S4 can support both HSPA+42 and LTE, so that would be the best case scenario, but I’m not holding my breath.

  • Jack Hu

Is it the same size as the international and AT&T version?

    • BoricuaBoy88

    • Christianbragado7

Yes, they both have a 5.3 inch screen. Amazing phone. Can’t wait for it to hit the T-Mobile Stores.

  • Stormrider2002

This why bussines goes down the fricken.tubes….samsung literally created a new market (the phablet) and they are letting it die on the vine…these idiots can’t even tie there shoe without holding a fricken meeting.

  • t-mobile should just start a pre-order for the Note, that way they will know within the first month what sales will be.I want a Note and I want it NOW!!! Release it for Father’s Day Gifting or Grads.
