T-Mobile’s Hidden Q1 Numbers Tell a More Complicated Story

T-Mobile’s latest quarter looks a lot less straightforward than the company may have wanted. While AT&T said it added 294,000 net new postpaid subscribers in Q1 and Verizon reported 55,000, T-Mobile did not break out some of its usual key growth figures. That left analysts and investors reading between the lines, and the picture that emerged was one of a carrier still growing, but also facing more pressure in several important areas.  According to

T-Mobile Reports First Quarter 2011 Results

T-Mobile reported their first quarter 2011 results this morning ending up with a net customer loss of 99,000 in the first quarter compared to 77,000 in the first quarter of 2010. T-Mobile USA now serves 33.63 million customers at the end of Q1 2011 down from 33.73 million at the end of the fourth quarter of 2010. T-mobile Q1 Numbers Not So Hot

T-mobile started off 2008 with a bang, announcing they had crossed into the 30 million customer mark and with close to 981,000 new subscribers. This year however, things are a little different with only 415,000 new subscribers coming in the first quarter of 2009.
