T-Mobile Fiber Goes 5 Gig for $90, and the Price Is Locked for 10 Years

T-Mobile Fiber just got a lot faster. The Un-carrier’s fiber service now has a 5 Gig plan, and it brings back something a lot of us were sad to see go: a long-term price guarantee.
T-Mobile announced Fiber 5 Gig in its newsroom, and it goes live November 3 for $90 a month with AutoPay. The best part is the 10-year price guarantee, which locks in your internet price for a full decade from the day you sign up. No teaser rate that doubles after a year, either. You get the regular price from day one. And because it’s fiber, you get symmetrical speeds, so your uploads are just as fast as your downloads.
T-Mobile is also sweetening the deal across the whole lineup for a limited time in select areas. Fiber 300 is down to $35 a month, Fiber 1 Gig is $55 with a free month and a $100 prepaid card, Fiber 2 Gig is $70 with a free month and $300 in prepaid cards, and the new Fiber 5 Gig gets two free months and $300 in prepaid cards. All plans include a router with no equipment fees, free pro installation, unlimited data, and no annual contract, and you don’t need T-Mobile wireless to get these prices.
The price guarantee is a nice turnaround. Back in the spring, the revamped T-Fiber lineup dropped the price lock for new customers, as we covered when T-Mobile revised its T-Fiber plans ahead of the April 30 launch. Now it’s back, at least on the top plan. And if you pair Fiber with T-Mobile wireless, you’ll also get access to T-Mix once it launches this month.
If T-Mobile Fiber is in your neighborhood, check Fiber.T-Mobile.com for availability. Gamers, creators, and big households will love 5 Gig, but if you’re mostly streaming and browsing, 1 Gig or 2 Gig with those prepaid cards might be the sweeter deal. Either way, it’s great to see T-Mobile bringing price certainty back to home internet.
