T-Mobile Galaxy Tab S4 update arrives with security patches, Bixby Voice support

It’s been a few months since the Galaxy Tab S4 got an update from T-Mobile, but if you’re currently rocking this Samsung tablet, you should check for an update today.

A new update is now rolling out to T-Mobile’s Galaxy Tab S4. The 692.60MB update bumps the Tab S4 to version T837TUVU3BSI1 and includes the August 1, 2019 Android security patches as well as Bixby Voice support and Call and Message Continuity support.

Before this update, the Tab S4 was running the June 2019 Android security patches, so while today’s update doesn’t have the absolute latest security fixes, it’s a definite improvement. Plus, there are a couple of new features for Tab S4 owners to tinker with once they get the update installed.

This update is now rolling out over the air, and TmoNews reader Nick has gotten it already. If you’ve got a Tab S4, you can wait for the OTA update to hit your device or you can check for the update right now by launching the Settings app and tapping on “Software update” followed by “Download updates manually”.

Thanks, Nick!

    Why can’t SAM/TMO provide us with the latest security patch—Oct 5 2019?

I’m hoping at some point they will give us Dex that has Widget capability. That’s where the S4 loses vs. the ipad pro for me.

After updating one of my Tab S4 yesterday morning, MMS no longer works on the updated tablet.
T-Mobile can’t fix it then transferred me to Samsung, after 6 reps all day between Samsung and T-Mobile Samsung recommendation is to 1, u break we fix locally or 2, send it in to Samsung to factory reset.
I would love to uninstall the update as I have a phone to make calls, not the tablet.

      Any update?

None, I have to use my phone to send MMS work material, I got the tablet for that but now reverting to my phone.
