T-Mobile Galaxy Note 9 update brings Night Mode to the camera

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 owners, there’s a big update now headed your way.

T-Mobile is now sending an update to its Galaxy Note 9 that comes in at 882.55MB. This nearly one gig update bumps the Note 9 up to version N960USQU2CSGA.

Included in the update are the July 1, 2019 Android security patches. The update also brings a dedicated Night Mode for the camera, which is something that the Galaxy S10 is still missing despite getting its July security update this past weekend. Samsung touts that with Night Mode helps to reduce noise, correct colors, and improve other image qualities to help get you better photos in low light situations.

This Galaxy Note 9 update is now rolling out over the air, and TmoNews readers Fernando and Debjit have already gotten it on their phones. If you’re itching to give Night Mode a try, you can manually check for your Note 9’s update by going into Settings > Software update > Download updates manually.

Once the update arrives, be sure to let us know what you think of Night Mode now that it’s finally here!

Thanks, Fernando and Debjit!

Just downloaded it. Haven’t had a chance to use night mode yet (it’s the middle of the day), but I have noticed that the initial wireless charging animation is different. I’m curious as to what else I’ll find.

I see the boot loader has changed to 2 meaning you cant go back to 8.1 or any pie firmware before it. I just went back to 8.1 last night after checking again for an update and got nothing and now its here.I miss the camera on 8.1 seems quicker to take a picture. let me know how it works. And does the google camera still work because that’s what I use for night shots and its great.

Saw the update this morning on my phone when I woke or rather the notice woke me up around 5 this morning.

Held off on updating to Pie till last month, despite it neing available since some time last Feb or March. What I did notice was a huge drop in battery life and the phone seems to run hot/hotter all the time, only t ime I remember phone being warm to the touch was after running benchmarks.

Seems a lot of apps have not been optimized for Pie yet. Also the ambient light contol is now to bright at night.

I’m tired of being a guinea pig for updates been burned and wasted to much time over the past 25 years being an unpaid beta tester. All the forced updates, just because some idiot got promoted to head of app design and thought anan a needed a makeover or rather a breakover.

Not being able to rollback the firmware I the boot loader I think I’ll wait, waited this long for the camera update for Night, I can wait longer.

    Forced updates – wtf
What is this the ghost of Windows 10 – is this a Samsung BS or is this coming from T-Mobile.

How despotic and dystopian of them.
